> Be My Cat Recap

Luo Feng could not believe Mo Xiuran was genuinely participating in the prince consort competition. Mo Xiuran explained it was a delaying tactic to acquire the White Soul Orb, adding that after winning, he could simply order Luo Feng to marry Princess Nan Pingwan instead. Luo Feng readily agreed to be his fall guy. Meanwhile, Little Mint was deeply upset, recalling Mo Xiuran's confession the previous day and his current decision to compete for another woman.

She questioned her cat, Little Dragon, wondering if Mo Xiuran was two-faced but convinced herself that he was merely seeking the White Soul Orb for her. Aware of Little Mint's presence, Mo Xiuran intentionally spoke boastful and narcissistic words to Luo Feng, predicting that Little Mint would be so charmed she would soon come to express her feelings. Infuriated, Little Mint dismissed his arrogance as a great misfortune and decided to obtain the White Soul Orb herself.

At that moment, Mo Yuji arrived and offered to help Little Mint retrieve the White Soul Orb. They decided to cooperate. The son-in-law competition began with the Castellan welcoming all participants. The first round was a talent show, requiring contestants to embroider on the theme "being in pairs." They were given one day to prepare, with judging scheduled for the following morning.

The Castellan's wife questioned the embroidery theme, but the Castellan explained he wanted to see which man would go to great lengths for Nan Pingwan, while she saw it as a test of patience and delicacy. The Castellan then unveiled the dowry, which included the White Soul Orb, confirming it bore no pattern of the Heavenly Hound. Witnessing Little Mint and Mo Yuji together, Mo Xiuran was visibly annoyed that she had teamed up with his rival.

Luo Feng echoed his sentiments, calling Mo Yuji "double-faced." Upon learning that Little Mint had arranged for the best embroiderer in Sunset City to give Mo Yuji private lessons, Mo Xiuran decided to join them. At the Xiuchun Workshop, an embroideress taught both Mo Xiuran and Mo Yuji, praising their skills. She then left on the pretext of retrieving the workshop's special treasure.

In reality, she attempted to lace an ivory needle with "Dejected Paraquat," a deadly poison, but accidentally poisoned and killed herself in the process. Sensing something was wrong, Mo Xiuran had Luo Feng inspect the needle, which was confirmed to be poisoned. Luo Feng's subsequent investigation revealed that a masked man had ordered the poisoning. He suspected this man was connected to the assassins at the courier station and that the Heavenly Hound was the mastermind.

Mo Xiuran vowed to ensure the scheme failed. During the embroidery judging, Princess Nan Pingwan praised Mo Xiuran's "lonely dragon" embroidery for its unique creativity, and her father, the Castellan, agreed. However, the Castellan's wife, citing Mo Yuji's business acumen as beneficial for the Glorious Sun Tribe's finances, declared him the champion of the first round. Nan Pingwan protested, reminding her mother of the voting results, but the Castellan's wife asserted her right to a veto.

Mo Yuji was officially announced as the winner, while Mo Xiuran was among the qualified competitors. Mo Xiuran was dispirited after the loss and Little Mint's misunderstanding. Little Mint later learned from Luo Feng of Mo Xiuran's true intentions: he had never planned to marry the princess, but intended to win the White Soul Orb for her as a surprise. Little Mint was deeply moved by this revelation.

Unbeknownst to them, black-clad figures had identified Little Mint as Mo Xiuran's Achilles' heel and planned to target her during the next round. The second round of the competition was an intelligence test. Contestants needed to find one of three hidden items—a jade hairpin, a wooden comb, or a hair accessory—within the Castellan's Mansion. Five participants would compete, with two eliminated.

Princess Nan Pingwan approached Mo Xiuran, offering her assistance as a gesture of gratitude for his efforts in learning embroidery for her. Little Mint observed their interaction, growing jealous and wondering if their "false feelings" were becoming real. Mo Xiuran soon found a book, where an acrostic on page eight, line eight, directed him "five steps to the southeast." Meanwhile, Little Mint discovered a music score titled "Shoal with Wild Geese Flying," which she interpreted as a clue.

She and Mo Yuji decided to split up to search. During her search, Little Mint unexpectedly encountered Mo Xiuran. She softened, gently comforting him and acknowledging his true intentions. However, Mo Xiuran, maintaining a stubborn facade, brushed her off and located the hair accessory hidden beneath a table. Suddenly, a black-clad assassin on the roof beam attacked. Mo Xiuran quickly pulled Little Mint into his arms, narrowly avoiding the falling decorations.

Other assassins hidden in the room's corners released a barrage of dark weapons, which Mo Xiuran skillfully dodged while protecting Little Mint. When an unavoidable weapon approached, Mo Xiuran threw the hair accessory to block it, shattering the item, while he spun to shield Little Mint from harm. Mo Yuji arrived to find them suspended in the air, Little Mint's gaze fixed solely on Mo Xiuran. Guards then arrived, prompting the assassins to retreat.
