My Life as a Villain Character Recap

Episode 1 Recap

Ye Wange was engrossed in a novel during a carpool ride, discovering the female antagonist shared her name, Ye Wange. This fictional character was depicted as cunning, having stolen the fiancé, Feng Muchen, from her half-sister, Lu Wanqing. As she read, a composed woman carrying a laptop boarded the car. Ye Wange silently scoffed at the novel's use of "tacky" terms like "sister-in-law", unaware that the elegant newcomer was actually Lu Wanqing, the novel's author.

Moments later, their car was involved in an accident, sending both women to the hospital. Due to her critical condition and severe head trauma, Ye Wange underwent an experimental end-brain treatment, a new therapy aimed at healing and restoring her lost memories by immersing her in a neurological world. Upon her discharge, a disoriented Ye Wange found herself being carried by a man she vaguely recognized as Feng Muchen.

He spoke of her impending motherhood, urging her to avoid high heels, while Ye Wange wondered, "Be a mom? What the hell?" She was confused by his familiarity and her strange circumstances, even accusing him of being a "pervert" when he refused to put her down. She then encountered a couple, her supposed father, Ye Shuyuan, and stepmother, Shen Lingzhu.

Ye Shuyuan and Shen Lingzhu were upset about something related to Feng Muchen and Ye Wange ("Xiao Ge"), implying that Feng Muchen had wronged Lu Wanqing. Ye Wange, bewildered, mistook them for kidnappers and tried to leave. Realizing the bizarre situation, Ye Wange used her phone to frantically search the novel's plot details, confirming her terrifying suspicion: she was living inside the story. The plot described a bar, a drug incident, and a press conference.

She desperately tried to explain to Feng Muchen that she was not the Ye Wange from the novel, denying she had drugged anyone or was pregnant, and emphatically stating she did not want to marry him. Feng Muchen, however, calmly dismissed her pleas, implying these were her true desires. Convinced she was dreaming, Ye Wange resorted to pinching and even slapping herself, repeatedly asking, "Why haven't I woken up?"

She felt trapped and observed Feng Muchen, noting his unsettling "acting" in this strange reality. Meanwhile, Feng Muchen's assistant, Ning Yuan, had informed him that the crucial shares of Ye's Group actually belonged to Ye Wange, not Lu Wanqing. This led to a "change of plans" for Feng Muchen, who decided to manipulate Ye Wange into making the first move.

Feng Muchen later discussed with Ning Yuan that marrying Ye Wange, who held the shares, was vital to solve the company's urgent cash flow issues and revive the declining Feng's Group. He mentioned his plan to propose to Ye Wange in three days and inquired about her ideal type, to which Ning Yuan responded, "muscular men." Back at the villa, Ye Shuyuan was furious about the public news of his daughter's premarital pregnancy, ordering staff to suppress it.

Ning Yuan, now addressing Ye Wange as "Miss," continued to provide her with a pregnancy diet and discussed her "severe morning sickness," offering preserved plums. Ye Wange, still in disbelief, secretly instructed Ning Yuan to buy a pregnancy test kit. While awaiting the results, she mused that she couldn't possibly be pregnant simply by entering a book. In an unfortunate mix-up, she accidentally swapped her pregnancy test with Shen Lingzhu's.

Ye Wange's test showed two lines, indicating pregnancy, while Shen Lingzhu's showed only one, leaving Shen Lingzhu distraught about her own result and her desire for a son. Shocked by her positive result, Ye Wange resolved to escape before she truly became a mother. During the chaotic press conference, Feng Muchen was about to announce the strategic cooperation between the Ye and Feng families, as well as his impending marriage to Lu Wanqing.

Suddenly, Ye Wange burst in, publicly declaring that she was pregnant with Feng Muchen's child, solidifying their relationship in front of the media. Feng Muchen, feigning concern, tried to calm her, promising to take responsibility and make a formal announcement in a few days. Later, Ye Wange encountered Lu Wanqing, believing she recognized her from the carpool. Believing they were both trapped in the novel, Ye Wange excitedly tried to convince her that they could escape if they worked together.

Lu Wanqing, however, was cold and dismissive, mocking Ye Wange for showing off her premarital pregnancy and pointing out the negative impact on the Ye family's stock. Feng Muchen then arrived, dismissing Lu Wanqing's business concerns and emphasizing the importance of stabilizing Ye Wange's public image. He then turned to Ye Wange, his "fiancée," to discuss their wedding plans. Desperate, Ye Wange feigned severe pregnancy symptoms and requested to be taken out for fresh air and "something pleasant."

Feng Muchen agreed, offering to take her anywhere she wished. Ye Wange led Feng Muchen to the site of the car accident, pointing to a wall and declaring, "The other side of this wall is where I was born and raised. As long as I can travel across this wall, everything will go back to normal."

She tried to persuade Lu Wanqing to join her, expressing concern about her being left alone, but Lu Wanqing scoffed, telling her to "feel free to go crazy yourself" and expressing worry about losing her job. Ye Wange suggested they all hold hands to attempt the "travel," but Lu Wanqing refused, reminding Feng Muchen of his prior promises. Hesitating before the solid wall, Ye Wange feared injuring herself if her plan failed. Suddenly, she remembered that Feng Muchen had the ability to pass through walls.

Episode 2 Recap

Feng Muchen was determined to save Feng's company by securing Ye Wange's shares through a marriage alliance. To achieve this, he took off his shirt, attempting to seduce Ye Wange. Meanwhile, Ye Wange, influenced by the novel's plot, continued her own seductive attempts, which included her belief that an asteroid crash might be her chance to return home.

When she asked Feng Muchen how she looked, he remarked that her "acting was as bad as ever," and sarcastically suggested they "get married soon" if she couldn't live without him. When she continued her flirtatious remarks, Feng Muchen questioned if her "chest was fake." He reiterated his resolve that "it's all for Feng's sake," then moved closer to her, confirming his suspicion by remarking, "I said it was fake, didn't I?"

Internally, Ye Wange expressed frustration with the "novel website" for not providing any "bonus" and wondered if "there was something wrong with him." Chen Ma informed Ye Wange that Mr. Ye had arrived at the villa. Mr. Ye immediately confronted Ye Wenyuan about the rampant rumors of Ye Wange's pregnancy, criticizing him for neglecting her and not personally taking her for a checkup, especially since she didn't have a mother.

Ye Wenyuan attempted to defend himself, suggesting it was a joyous occasion and not his place as a father to handle such matters, but others quickly silenced him. Mr. Ye then announced that Ye Wange was not pregnant, expressing his dismay that his granddaughter had "suffered so much for something that didn't happen." Ye Wenyuan then suggested revisiting the marriage between Feng Muchen and Lu Wanqing.

Mr. Ye firmly disagreed, questioning if Ye Wenyuan didn't believe the doctor or doubted his own words. Ye Wenyuan quickly backed down, stating that Mr. Ye was "in charge of this family." Mr. Ye then announced that Ye Wange was now eligible to inherit the shares her mother had gifted her before her death. Overwhelmed, Ye Wange internally rejoiced at becoming "a rich man," declaring Mr. Ye "the God of Wealth."

Mr. Ye advised Feng Muchen to "consider carefully what to do," before stating that he, as her grandfather, "recognized" Feng Muchen and Ye Wange as a couple and "only approved of them." Before leaving, Mr. Ye, who had been using a wheelchair, surprisingly stood up and instructed Ning Yuan to return the "sample" wheelchair, revealing he was capable of walking all along. He gave Ye Wange a necklace, saying it "might come in handy sometime."

Ye Wange watched him walk away, realizing, "So Grandpa can walk." After discovering her inheritance, Ye Wange quickly rejected Feng Muchen. Feng Muchen reminded her of his promise to keep it, but she declared herself rich and saw no reason to marry him, stating they "don't know each other well" and urging him to "be mature." Feng Muchen, in turn, tried to use her past interest against her, claiming he now liked her and wanted to marry.

Meanwhile, Ye Wenyuan tried to persuade Lu Wanqing to proceed with her marriage to Feng Muchen, dismissing Mr. Ye's decision as "old and confused." However, Lu Wanqing firmly refused, stating, "I'm not interested in men" and that she "just wants to focus on my career," even criticizing Feng Muchen for being "love-struck" and calling herself "an independent woman." Shen Lingzhu tried to salvage the situation, promising Feng Muchen that she would talk to Lu Wanqing later.

Feeling rejected by three women—Ye Wange, Lu Wanqing, and implicitly Shen Lingzhu's deferral—and facing plummeting company stock due to the rumors of Ye Wange dumping him, Feng Muchen vowed to "come back" and figure out "what this woman [Ye Wange] is thinking." Meanwhile, Ye Wange, realizing she couldn't leave the novel by extreme means, decided to try a different approach.

Believing that romantic novels end when the male and female leads get together, she formed a new plan: to "set up Feng Muchen and Lu Wanqing" to achieve her goal of exiting the novel. She mused about how to make a career-focused person like Lu Wanqing "believe in love." Back at the villa, Ye Wange, feeling frustrated, was caught by Ning Yuan who mistakenly thought she was trying to harm herself by hitting the wall.

As she struggled to get away from Ning Yuan, he accidentally fell into the pool. Feng Muchen, arriving at that moment, accused Ye Wange of "acting pitiful" and "seeking to die," assuming she had deliberately pushed Ning Yuan into the water, especially after she had broken off their engagement. Ye Wange, trying to defend herself and help Ning Yuan, countered that Feng Muchen thought too "smartly" and "viciously" of her.

As Ning Yuan was pulled from the water, Feng Muchen continued to scold Ye Wange, asking "what the hell" she was doing every day and why she kept coming to "his home," implying she was trying to get his attention. Ye Wange retorted, calling him narcissistic, and then, due to an upset stomach, she let out a loud fart at him as she tried to walk away, warning him not to "regret it."

Feng Muchen, utterly bewildered and disgusted by her behavior, exclaimed to Ning Yuan that Ye Wange had "repeatedly upended his worldview." This bizarre incident, however, perversely "ignited his desire to conquer her." Feng Muchen, after the unpleasant incident by the pool, sought refuge in Lu Wanqing's room to change his wet clothes. As he was changing, Lu Wanqing unexpectedly walked in, asking why he was "naked in her house."

Just then, Shen Lingzhu, having heard about Feng Muchen's presence, came looking for him. To avoid being seen, Feng Muchen quickly covered Lu Wanqing's mouth and pulled her into the closet. Once Shen Lingzhu left, Feng Muchen, after an earlier argument, confronted her, accusing her of "playing hard-to-get." He then sought her help for the upcoming press conference, mentioning the presence of many reporters outside.

Lu Wanqing, realizing Feng's desperate need to ally with the Ye family and even marry Ye Wange to save his company, agreed to help him attend the press conference, stating, "I'll take you there." Feng Muchen thanked her. After securing his agreement with Lu Wanqing, Feng Muchen, amidst flashing cameras capturing their staged dinner orchestrated by Ning Yuan, prepared to leave. Lu Wanqing bid him success for the next day and left on her own.

Observing this, Ye Wange, who was still trying to orchestrate a match between them, confronted Feng Muchen, urging him to pursue Lu Wanqing and "not act like a male lead at all." However, Feng Muchen unexpectedly told Ye Wange that he was "more interested in her" and then coolly walked away to a bar for an appointment.

A frustrated Ye Wange tried to follow, but the bar staff blocked her entry, stating they "only recognize cards, not people," despite her protests of being "the daughter of the Ye family" and claiming to be with Feng. Feeling annoyed, Ye Wange was then approached by a man who claimed to know her, promising to arrange her entry into the bar if she joined his friends for a drink. Believing his false promises, Ye Wange agreed.

Later, after Feng Muchen had entered the bar, he inquired about Ye Wange and was told she had gone towards the lake with a man. Feng Muchen cynically remarked that "it's hard to change her nature," once again misinterpreting her actions. The man and his accomplices then seized Ye Wange and threw her into a nearby pool. While Ye Wange struggled in the pool, Chen Ma was seen secretly meeting with her son.

Her son questioned her recent secretive behavior, asking if "she" had instructed her. Chen Ma confessed that "she" had promised a large sum of money and freedom from serving her, so they "won't have to live in fear." Her son, though calling her "silly," pointed out that if they didn't comply, "she won't let us go." Chen Ma, however, had a different plan.

After musing that if "she" truly left no way out for them, she told her son he "don't have to do this." She then tearfully expressed that in the "next life," she would "pay with her life" for "Miss," implying a self-sacrificial act to protect Ye Wange.

Episode 3 Recap

Ye Wange awoke in bed, surprised to find herself alive. She immediately recalled the previous night, realizing that the man who had pretended to know her had actually orchestrated her attack. She mused on how many enemies the original Ye Wange had made and intensified her desire to escape the novel. Ningyuan entered, confirming that Feng Muchen had brought her back, which surprised Ye Wange.

She then contemplated her two paths to leaving the novel: either help Ye Wanqing secure Feng Muchen, leading to the story's end, or assist Ye Wanqing in finding a new male lead. She decided that marrying Feng Muchen would offer her 24-hour protection and safety, making it the most sensible choice. Ye Wange then took Ye Wanqing out to get her hair styled.

On their way out, Ye Wange, influenced by the novel's character persona, impulsively chased a pickpocket, with Ye Wanqing following behind. Coincidentally, Mr. Chen, who was stuck in traffic, witnessed the commotion and promptly exited his car to assist the two sisters. By the time Ye Wanqing caught up, Ye Wange had already single-handedly fought and subdued the thief.

As Ye Wange reached for the stolen bag, she almost lost her footing, but Mr. Chen stepped in, saving her from falling. Ye Wange, noting the natural chemistry between Mr. Chen and Ye Wanqing, believed Mr. Chen could be the leading actor in the novel. Later, at a press conference hosted by the Ye family, Ye Wange and Ye Wanqing were surprised to see Mr. Chen there.

Ye Wange, aiming to pair him with Ye Wanqing, saw them interact, and her mother also introduced both daughters to Mr. Chen. Ye Wanqing seemed interested in Mr. Chen, but her phone rang with a message from Feng Muchen, requesting her presence outside the venue, so she excused herself to meet him.

Meanwhile, Shen Lingzhu spotted her subordinate at the conference and harshly reprimanded him for failing to eliminate Ye Wange, warning him that if he failed again, his mother, Chen Ma, would suffer the consequences. On stage, Ye Wange's father announced that the missing shares of Ye's Group, originally a gift from her late mother, Ye Fengyan, would now be transferred to Ye Wange.

When asked about her plans for the substantial dividend, Ye Wange declared that she had used a small portion for tuition and donated the rest to a children's fund and an animal protection association, leaving her with no money. She then requested that people not treat her differently or try to harm her because they perceived her as wealthy.

Feng Muchen arrived at the press conference, holding a ring and seemingly ready to leave, possibly frustrated that Ye Wange had seemingly squandered the shares. However, Ye Wange's grandfather made a dramatic entrance, proclaiming that Ye Wange and Feng Muchen's marriage was non-negotiable. He spoke fondly of his granddaughter and expressed his support for their union, noting Feng Muchen's unwavering gaze towards Ye Wange. A reporter questioned if there was a history between them.

Feng Muchen confirmed it, but Ye Wange quickly downplayed it, stating that anyone would have helped in the situation. At that moment, Feng Muchen's assistant discretely informed him that the shares were actually distributed in installments. Empowered by this new information and the enthusiastic shouts from the crowd for them to marry, Feng Muchen proposed to Ye Wange. After the impromptu proposal and a quick marriage registration, Feng Muchen told Ye Wange they were going to his home.

Upon arriving at Feng Muchen's villa, Ye Wange boldly declared herself the new lady of the house. However, Yun Yi, Feng Muchen's assistant, blocked her from going upstairs. Feng Muchen confronted her, suggesting they weren't ready for cohabitation and that she should return to the Ye family residence. Ye Wange, however, insisted on staying, claiming the "audience" wanted them to live together. Feng Muchen, seemingly resigned, agreed to her stay but warned her about "over-the-top demands."

Anticipating his intentions, Ye Wange proposed a cohabitation agreement: no physical intimacy and no interfering with each other's privacy. Feng Muchen was surprised by her foresight and readily agreed. Feng Muchen then instructed his staff to prepare a guest room for Ye Wange. Offended, Ye Wange argued that as a nominal half-owner, she deserved more than a guest room, calling him cruel. Feng Muchen replied, "I'm flattered."

Ignoring him, Ye Wange began inspecting other rooms, eventually attempting to enter Feng Muchen's private bedroom. Yun Yi stopped her, reminding her it was his boss's room and that he had just tidied it. Ye Wange disdainfully remarked on an accessory on the dresser, calling it "ugly" and the owner a "rube." Yun Yi corrected her, explaining it was a cufflink and that she was the "rube" for not knowing.

When Ye Wange then sat on Feng Muchen's bed, Feng Muchen ordered Yun Yi to remove her. He then mockingly asked if she wanted to share his bed. Ye Wange, undeterred, reminded him that despite their new marriage, he still relied on her family, and his father would be displeased if she was forced into a guest room.

Episode 4 Recap

Ning Yuan arrived at the Feng family residence with Ye Wange's luggage. Feng Muchen immediately tried to dismiss Ning Yuan, but his assistant, Yun Yi, intervened, welcoming Ning Yuan and persuading Feng Muchen to let him stay. Ye Wange, delighted with her new spacious room that featured a heated swimming pool-like bathtub, felt she had finally become the mistress of the house.

She reminded Feng Muchen that their marriage meant she couldn't be relegated to a guest room, especially considering her father's expectations. Yun Yi performed a security check on Ning Yuan's belongings, despite Ning Yuan's protests. Feng Muchen then tried to pay Ning Yuan to leave, but Ning Yuan firmly stated that as Ye Wange's personal assistant, he would only follow her orders and could not be dismissed by Feng Muchen.

Yun Yi mediated, suggesting Ning Yuan could share his room, which was large enough. However, Feng Muchen stipulated that no one, except the nanny, was permitted on the second floor. Ye Wange retorted that if others couldn't go upstairs, then Feng Muchen himself would have to carry her luggage to her room. Later, Feng Muchen entered Ye Wange's room while she was unpacking, only to be questioned by her about Ning Yuan's whereabouts.

He informed her that Ning Yuan was with Yun Yi downstairs, reiterating the second-floor restriction. Ye Wange found his rules excessive, to which Feng Muchen responded by emphasizing his right to privacy in his own home and warning her not to overstep. Ye Wange conceded, acknowledging she was now "living in his house" and he was "the boss." Yun Yi helped Ning Yuan unpack, humorously declaring them new roommates, much to Ning Yuan's annoyance.

As Feng Muchen left Ye Wange's room, she reminded him of their agreement and the implications involving her father. That night, Feng Muchen tossed and turned, unable to sleep with others in the house. Meanwhile, Yun Yi, sharing a room with Ning Yuan, bombarded Ning Yuan with continuous questions, annoying Ning Yuan to the point he covered his head with a blanket. Later that night, Yun Yi grew increasingly irritated by Ning Yuan's loud snoring.

Yun Yi playfully offered "singing services" to help Ning Yuan sleep. Ning Yuan, however, adamantly denied snoring, claiming he never had. Later, Feng Muchen, feeling thirsty, mistakenly entered what was now Ye Wange's room (his former master bedroom) and found her asleep in his bed. Disturbed, he retreated outside for some fresh air. Ye Wange woke up to find a glass of water and some pills on her bedside table.

Misinterpreting the situation, she feared Feng Muchen was trying to harm her. Calling him a "bastard," she immediately locked her door, vowing to protect herself. Feeling hungry, Ye Wange decided to make a late-night snack. The aroma of her instant noodles drifted into Feng Muchen's room, drawing him to the kitchen. He expressed displeasure at her using his expensive soup pot for instant noodles and his specialized knife for chopping scallions.

Ye Wange dismissed his complaints, calling him "stingy" and "fussy" for being so particular about his kitchenware while not even cooking himself. Despite his initial disdain, Feng Muchen eventually requested a bowl of noodles for himself. She initially refused, stating it was for her, but he insisted. He also warned her not to enter his room again. He later discreetly finished the leftover noodles, admitting they were quite good.

Seizing the opportunity, Ye Wange drafted an "additional agreement" for their cohabitation, proposing she manage his meals for a daily fee, charging 5,000 yuan for accommodation and 650 yuan for meals, with extra charges for snacks. Feng Muchen scoffed at the exorbitant prices, pointing out the house lacked entertainment facilities and was far from amenities.

He threatened to report her to the Consumers' Association, ridiculing her proposed charges for showering and bathing by the use, and a monthly fee for the toilet. Ye Wange asserted that since it was her house, her rules applied. She then tried to haggle for a 40% discount as his wife, but Feng Muchen sarcastically offered a 1% discount instead.

Ye Wange, calling him "stingy" and lamenting his lack of "secondary leading actor" charm, was told by Feng Muchen that she was free to leave if she didn't like the arrangements. Realizing the need to maintain their "love story" for the plot, Ye Wange decided to tolerate the situation, promising to transfer money the next day, even offering to make him noodles again, which he declined.

Checking her finances, Ye Wange discovered her bank balance was zero, with a significant payment of 300,000 yuan due in a week. She cursed her past extravagance and the constant need to pay rent in both the real and fictional worlds. She tried to call her father, Ye Wenyuan, but he was preoccupied discussing her sister Wanqing's birthday plans, expressing regret over Ye Wange's marriage, and offering his card for Wanqing's expenses.

Unable to reach her father, Ye Wange then asked Ning Yuan about her second round of dividends and stock. Ning Yuan informed her that the dividends would arrive in three months, and the stock proxy was currently overseas. Frustrated and referring to Feng Muchen as "Grandet Feng," Ye Wange hatched a plan.

Upon Feng Muchen's return home, he was greeted by Ye Wange and Ning Yuan, dressed in matching servant uniforms, lining up to welcome him and presenting a lavish dinner. Suspicious of their unusual behavior, Feng Muchen feared the food was poisoned and instructed Yun Yi to taste it first. Yun Yi feigned poverty, stating he could only afford plain rice, subtly implying Feng Muchen should eat the "poisonous" dishes. Feng Muchen, unfazed, then demanded a dish from Yun Yi's plate.

During the meal, Ye Wange played a mournful tune on a string instrument (erhu), much to Feng Muchen's annoyance. He stopped her, asking what they wanted. Ye Wange then produced a QR code, presenting a bill for 1,250. 25 yuan, itemizing services such as weeding, cleaning, cooking, and musical performance. Feng Muchen dismissed their efforts as "futile," stating he already employed staff for such tasks, and remarked that even street performers played better.

Ye Wange accused him of cheating, showing her reddened hands from playing. Feng Muchen then offered a proposal: if Ye Wange agreed to one condition, he would allow them to stay for free for an entire month. Ye Wange, wary, warned him not to try to take advantage of her.

Episode 5 Recap

Feng Muchen agreed to let Wange and Ning Yuan stay for a month without charge, provided Wange fulfilled one condition. Wange learned of Feng Muchen's plan to attend Lu Wanqing's birthday party, and mocked him for still thinking of pursuing Lu Wanqing despite being married to her. She also knew that Chen Ye would also be there, and she believed that a development in their relationship would help push the plot forward, seeing herself as an assist in their romance.

She picked an outfit carefully, wanting to look good, but not to overshadow the heroine. Wange wanted to facilitate the relationship between Chen Ye and Lu Wanqing, believing that compliments from the same gender and physical contact could foster closeness. At the birthday party, Wange approached Lu Wanqing, showering her with compliments about her beauty and dress. Lu Wanqing was overwhelmed by Wange's excessive praise. Wange also pretended to be friendly with Lu Wanqing's father.

When Chen Ye arrived, Wange observed him, noting he embodied the presence of a leading actor. Later, as she continued to push Lu Wanqing and Chen Ye together, Lu Wanqing's mother commented that Chen Ye would be a good match for her daughter. Lu Wanqing, however, expressed frustration, asking Wange why she kept meddling in her life despite being with Feng Muchen. One of Lu Wanqing's friends, annoyed by Wange always "stealing" things from Lu Wanqing, plotted to embarrass her.

She secretly drugged Wange's drink, then instructed a heavily intoxicated Chengji to assist a "drunk girl" outside, intending to damage Wange's reputation by photographing them together. Wange, unaware, consumed the drink and noted its potency. Meanwhile, Feng Muchen was discussing business with Lu Wanqing's father when he received a call from the Ye patriarch, who asked to speak with Wange and scolded him for letting her out of his sight. Feng Muchen began searching for Wange.

The friend who drugged Wange slyly informed him that Wange had gone into a room with one of Lu Wanqing's male friends. Feng Muchen entered the room and found Chengji drunkenly bothering Wange, asking her to sing. Wange, disoriented, recognized Feng Muchen. Feng Muchen intervened, scolding Chengji for being so drunk and forcing him out of the room. He then picked Wange up and insisted on taking her home.

Upon arriving home, Ning Yuan checked on Wange, who wanted to go back to her "real" home, not the Ye family. Ning Yuan promised to investigate the birthday party incident. Feng Muchen gave Wange hot milk. Wange took a bath and accidentally twisted her back. Feng Muchen heard the noise and went to help her, but was pulled into the bathtub. Seeing she was injured, he carried her back to the bed.

Yun Yi and Ms. Zhang were eavesdropping, commenting on the unfolding romance. Feng Muchen told them to get back to work. Later, Feng Muchen brought Wange some pain-relieving patches. He also changed the bath water for her and provided bubble bath and flowers.

Episode 6 Recap

Wange, still smelling strongly of alcohol from the previous night's events, prepared for a bath. Feng Muchen entered, offering her anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medicine, and informed her that he had thoughtfully changed the bathwater. Wange was surprised by his meticulousness, noticing flowers, snacks, and a bubble machine he had prepared. Meanwhile, Yun Yi advised Feng Muchen on the importance of pampering women, even warning him against making a wife angry as it would be incredibly hard to win her back.

Feng Muchen, however, dismissed the idea of pampering Wange. Soon after, Mr. Ye arrived at the villa. Yun Yi explained that Wange was bathing and Feng Muchen was eating. Mr. Ye expressed his disappointment that Feng Muchen was not by Wange's side. When Wange came downstairs, her grandfather worried about her weight loss and implied Feng Muchen was not treating her well.

Wange took the opportunity to complain about Feng Muchen asking her for living expenses and the plain meals she was forced to eat. Angered by this, Mr. Ye sternly told Feng Muchen that he should ask him for money if he had difficulties, not Wange. Feng Muchen acknowledged his mistake. Mr. Ye then handed Wange a document, revealing the shocking truth that her mother, Ye Fengyan, had not died of illness in prison but had been murdered.

He instructed Wange to discreetly investigate Ye Fengyan's last business partners, Li Yunsheng and Mr. Jackson, emphasizing the need for absolute secrecy. Wange was unsure how to proceed with only their names. Mr. Ye then playfully pretended to pass out, causing a scare before laughing and admitting it was a joke. After her grandfather departed, Wange reflected on her new mission, regretting that she had forgotten to ask him for money to fund her investigation.

Upon Feng Muchen's return, he informed Wange that he had safely escorted Mr. Ye home and settled her outstanding credit card debt. Wange had prepared a "green feast," a vegetarian meal, which Feng Muchen and Yun Yi found inedible, quickly finding excuses to leave. Ning Yuan, however, politely finished his plate, though he confessed it was quite salty.

Ning Yuan also updated Wange on the birthday party incident, revealing that the candid photos were leaked by a friend of Wanqing's, who was now under investigation. However, Ning Yuan believed that Wanqing would not intentionally sabotage her own birthday party, suggesting the friend acted independently. He also confirmed that no new clues were found at the lake where Wange had fallen.

Wange then considered her own role in the unfolding events, seeing herself as the "Little Chicken" and contemplating the "love line" between Wanqing and Chen Ye, as well as the "intrigue line" surrounding her mother's death. She wondered if Chen Ye was crucial to uncovering the conspiracy. Shortly after, Chen Ye called Wange, inviting her to a trust dinner hosted by Li Yunsheng.

Wange saw this as a prime opportunity to investigate her mother's murder but worried about disrupting Wanqing's designated "love story." As she spoke on the phone, Feng Muchen entered, prompting Wange to abruptly hang up. He questioned her about attending the event with Chen Ye, to which Wange assertively replied that it was her business. Feng Muchen then accused her of having double standards regarding public appearances.

Later, Feng Muchen received a call from Mr. Ye, who, despite Feng Muchen's earlier reluctance, insisted he accompany Wange to the dinner, citing concerns for her safety if she went alone. Feng Muchen agreed and decided to use his professional expertise as a haute couture fashion designer to help Wange select an outfit. Downstairs, Wange tried on several dresses, seeking Ning Yuan’s unhelpful opinion. Feng Muchen criticized her choices, bluntly calling her "stupid and rich" for her poor taste.

He proceeded to educate her on appropriate evening wear, suggesting elegant materials like satin and worsted textures, and low-saturation colors. He ultimately chose a dress, declaring it met his professional standards. Wange, calling him a "stinky tailor," dismissively stated she wouldn't go with him and left. Feng Muchen, exasperated, muttered about her inability to distinguish between a tailor and a haute couture designer.

Chen Ye arrived to pick up Wange for the trust dinner, complimenting her dress as a design from Ye's fashion week collection. Wange inquired if he had ever collaborated with her mother, but Chen Ye stated he had never had the opportunity. Upon entering the venue, Chen Ye quickly excused himself to greet media friends, inadvertently leaving Wange without her invitation.

Feeling adrift, Wange was delighted to run into her best friend, Su Yinyin, whom she hadn't seen in six months. Wange recalled from the novel that Su Yinyin was the sole heiress of the Su family, known for being a cool and gallant biker girl. Su Yinyin happened to have an invitation, and the two friends entered the event together. Inside, Li Yunsheng welcomed the guests and proudly unveiled a newly acquired Picasso painting.

As Wange and Su Yinyin chatted, Feng Muchen appeared, offering Wange his assistance, much to her annoyance. Li Yunsheng warmly greeted Wanqing, mentioning he had just had afternoon tea with her mother, and then acknowledged Wange. When a guest inquired about the painting's connection to Wange, Li Yunsheng invited Wange, as a "collector," to share her insights. Unfamiliar with the painting's history, Wange feigned ignorance. Li Yunsheng pressed further, reminding her it was her mother's favorite.

Realizing Li Yunsheng’s close ties to her mother, Wange made an excuse and discreetly departed. Wange realized that her mother's painting had been sold to Li Yunsheng by Shen Lingzhu. She mused that Wanqing’s pointed remarks were probably a protagonist's display of "justice." Su Yinyin then informed Wange that she was leaving and would meet her at a bar later. Wange approached the refreshment area, where she found Feng Muchen. She accused him of intentionally embarrassing her on stage.

Feng Muchen explained that he had merely intended to "avenge" her mother by revealing that the painting, a cherished family heirloom, had been reluctantly sold to Li Yunsheng due to Ye Fengyan's business difficulties. He expressed surprise that Wange was unaware of this history. Wange apologized for misunderstanding. Accepting her apology, Feng Muchen playfully demanded that she "feed him until he was full" as a reward for his help and the valuable information. Wange complied, feeding him a donut.

Later, Li Yunsheng began to pitch an investment project, promoting it as a "stable, low-risk" opportunity promising a fixed 10% annual return, allegedly backed by major banks. He strategically created a sense of urgency, implying limited availability to encourage immediate investment. Wange, recognizing the characteristics of a "passing the parcel" capital scheme, stepped forward. She openly warned the attendees about the inherent high risks and the exploitative nature of such schemes, urging everyone to "think twice" before committing their funds. Li Yunsheng, acknowledging her sharp observation, remarked that Wange, even at her young age, displayed the shrewdness of her mother, expressing his respect for her insight.

Episode 7 Recap

At the trust dinner, Wange's insightful remarks on the risks of the investment project led many to reconsider their decisions, much to Li Yunsheng's dismay as his fundraising efforts were hampered. Meanwhile, Su Yinyin waited for Wange at a bar, wondering why her friend was taking so long and suspecting she was avoiding her. Instigated by his friends, a young man named Zou Chengji approached Su Yinyin, offering her a drink or his WeChat.

She chose WeChat, and he promptly scanned her code and transferred ¥1428. 00. Su Yinyin, amused by his naivety, converted the amount to $250, returned it, and told him to "go away," stating that "the rules of the world are made by the strongest" and she hadn't promised him anything. Chengji was taken aback, feeling misunderstood. Just then, Wange arrived, and Chengji, mistaking her for "Sakiin-san," immediately apologized for a past offense.

Su Yinyin clarified to Wange that it was all a misunderstanding, then changed the subject, asking Wange how she was adjusting to being back. Wange replied that it was "not bad." Wange noticed Feng Muchen at the bar, which piqued her curiosity. She playfully teased him about paying attention to her and hiding his embarrassment. As they exchanged banter, a light fixture suddenly fell from the ceiling.

Feng Muchen swiftly pulled Wange out of harm's way, asking if she was frightened. He then arranged a car for her to go home and rest, telling her he would handle the situation at the bar. As she entered the car, Wange mused about Feng Muchen's "male lead aura" that appeared when he saved her, despite complaining about the "shabby car" he'd arranged. Unbeknownst to Wange, the driver was an abductor. She was soon kidnapped.

Wange regained consciousness inside a moving vehicle, realizing she'd been abducted. She tried to call Feng Muchen, but his phone was busy. With no signal in the desolate area, the abductors were worried about being late to deliver her to their boss, fearing dire consequences. Wange's phone then died, but not before she managed to send her location to Chen Ye.

Feng Muchen, unable to reach Wange, had already instructed Yun Yi to track her location and was driving to search for her. Yun Yi soon sent him Wange's coordinates. The abductors spotted Wange awake and attempted to knock her out again. In the ensuing struggle, their car overturned. Stranded, and still worried about their boss, they decided they couldn't abandon Wange because she had seen their faces.

One abductor suggested they sexually assault her right there, since "there's no one here." Wange screamed for help, trying to fight back, recalling a previous instance where she could "fight two people" in her novel. However, they overpowered her. Just as they were about to attack, Feng Muchen arrived, ordering them to stop. He cleverly pretended to be on their side, claiming Wange's disappearance would benefit him with Ye's shares, and offered the abductors a cut.

He further disparaged Wange's reputation, questioning why he should save her. Wange, understanding his ploy, played along, furiously accusing him of marrying her with ill intentions, calling him "blind," and threatening to divorce him at the Civil Affairs Bureau. Feng Muchen continued the act, complaining to the abductors about Wange's "vulgar" behavior, rallying their sympathy as men who understood each other's suffering. While the abductors were distracted, Wange and Feng Muchen made their escape.

The abductors soon realized they'd been tricked and gave chase. Wange called out to Chen Ye, who arrived just in time to subdue the abductors, telling Wange and Feng Muchen to leave. As Feng Muchen carried Wange, who had lost her shoe and hurt her leg, she wondered why he had arrived before Chen Ye, to whom she had sent her location.

She then realized that Feng Muchen was the true male lead, having seen a "male lead halo" above his head. Feng Muchen, seemingly hearing her thoughts, asked what she meant by "male lead." Wange complained about Li Yunsheng's retaliation and vowed to call the police, but Feng Muchen assured her he would handle it. Her phone rang, and it was Yun Yi, who informed Feng Muchen that Chen Ye had handed over the abductors.

Yun Yi asked Wange how she wished to proceed. The abductors, begging for mercy, confessed that Li Yunsheng had ordered them to kidnap her and revealed that he had known her mother and planned a project with her before her mother's sudden passing. Enraged by them mentioning her mother, Wange ordered Yun Yi to hand over both abductors and all evidence of Li Yunsheng's crimes to the police.

She then thanked Feng Muchen for saving her and avenging her, to which he playfully retorted that he only did it for Ye's shares and good-naturedly complained about her weight. Back home, Wange, still recovering, decided to make snail noodles to soothe her "wounded heart." Feng Muchen found the smell repulsive, comparing it to "biochemical weapons" and jokingly accusing her of trying to poison him. Wange called him an "idiot" for not having tried snail noodles.

After some persuasion, he tentatively tasted it and, to his surprise, found it delicious, eating heartily. She then offered him durian, declaring snail noodles with durian to be "one of the best in the world." Later, Wange was shocked to discover an update to a novel she was following perfectly mirrored her recent experiences, including the dialogue. She initially suspected plagiarism but then realized she had misunderstood her own role.

She reasoned that while Lu Wanqing was the female lead, Chen Ye's "iconic" entrance had misled her into believing he was the male lead. However, Feng Muchen's "male lead aura" during her rescue indicated he was the true male lead. This realization deeply troubled her; her marriage to Feng Muchen made her the "biggest obstacle" in the protagonists' love story. Looking at her cohabitation contract, she resolved to find a way to break it and "give him back to Lu Wanqing."

Episode 8 Recap

Ye Wange, still grappling with her role in the novel's plot, decided to terminate her cohabitation contract with Feng Muchen, hoping this would lead to her being expelled from the Feng family and allow her to return Feng Muchen to Lu Wanqing. She devised a two-pronged strategy: first, provoke him into physical contact, then make him curious about her privacy.

Wange initially dressed provocatively, hoping to entice Feng Muchen, but he resisted her advances, muttering to himself and struggling to maintain his composure. Feeling frustrated and questioning her own attractiveness, Wange decided to escalate her attempts. For her second move, Wange pretended to be on the phone with another man, using overly affectionate language about "love at first sight" and making plans for a date. Feng Muchen overheard the conversation and, though curious, did not directly inquire.

Later, Wange was found drinking wine at Fragrance Manor, which Feng Muchen promptly confiscated, reminding her not to drink at home. She confronted him, demanding to know why he hadn't asked who she was speaking to, accusing him of not caring despite her being his wife. Feng Muchen calmly stated it was her privacy and if she didn't care about him, he had no reason to care about her.

Wange, feeling defeated by his indifference, nonetheless found herself a "little" reluctant to give him up, acknowledging her failure to break the contract. Meanwhile, Feng Muchen's assistant reminded him of an upcoming business meeting with Mr. Ye. Around the same time, Wange considered simply handing Feng Muchen over to Lu Wanqing. At the Ye family residence, Ye Wenyuan discussed business with Chen Ye, noting Feng's Group's declining performance but assuring continued support due to Wange's marriage into the family.

Shen Lingzhu suggested Lu Wanqing as an assistant for Chen Ye, highlighting her virtues. Lu Wanqing, however, felt she would be a burden after graduation, and Chen Ye politely declined, stating it would be a waste of her talent. Feng Muchen and Wange then arrived. Wange, subtly trying to push Feng Muchen towards Lu Wanqing, told him to engage in conversation with her, then made an excuse to go to the bathroom.

Feng Muchen, suspicious of her actions, grabbed her arm and warned her of consequences if she did not release him. Later, Feng Muchen was questioned by Ye Wenyuan about his relationship with Wange, and Ye Wenyuan abruptly ended discussions about an upcoming business meeting. In her room, Wange found a brooch and briefly enjoyed the peace before overhearing Shen Lingzhu scolding Lu Wanqing. Shen Lingzhu criticized Lu Wanqing for not being more proactive like Wange, despite Wange's seemingly careless demeanor.

Wange then learned about an upcoming summer camp that promised the presence of many influential young men and the industry tycoon, Mr. Jackson. She immediately decided to participate, seeing it as an opportunity to advance the novel's storyline. Feng Muchen learned that Ye Wenyuan had not only refused to discuss the business dinner but had also ordered the suspension of production lines at Feng's Group.

This left Feng Muchen resentful and bewildered by Ye Wenyuan's intentions, a development that someone close to Feng Muchen (likely Yun Yi) noted could create a beneficial rift between the two families. Wange later inquired about attending the summer camp but was told by a student that she could not, as she was a "bad student" with no chance of participation.

Later, Wange sat outside, stargazing, lamenting the burdens of being a rich lady, feeling unloved by her parents and distant from her sister, and finding her marriage profitable but leaving her without personal wealth. Ning Yuan joined her, bringing a blanket and reassuring her that she at least had him.

As Feng Muchen departed for a business banquet with Yun Yi, he explicitly stated that Wange had no relevance to the event, deciding to keep his distance to avoid hindering Feng's Group's operations. Yun Yi questioned this, believing Feng Muchen had both love and career success, but Feng Muchen brushed him off.

Suddenly, Feng Muchen experienced a profound emotional surge, hearing a song about unwavering love and declaring himself "ready" for something, possibly related to a "brain system" that was still in its testing phase, with warnings about severe risks if one did not go offline immediately. While driving through heavy rain, Feng Muchen experienced a jolt and felt himself "entering" something, then insisted on getting out of the car, disregarding Yun Yi's concerns about the downpour.

He rushed home, calling out Wange's name, desperate to reach her. Wange was alone at home, sick with a fever. The storm had caused a power outage, leaving her terrified and huddled in a corner. As she heard noises and saw a figure emerge from the darkness, she panicked, repeatedly pleading with the intruder not to come near her and insisting she wasn't the "Ye Yange they were looking for."

When Feng Muchen finally appeared, calling her name and reassuring her, her defenses crumbled, and she rushed into his arms. Feng Muchen cared for the sick Wange, administering medicine and urging her to rest. He stayed by her bedside, eventually falling asleep from exhaustion. Wange woke to find Feng Muchen sleeping beside her. She reflected that he wasn't as unapproachable as she once thought, and in fact, found him increasingly handsome.

Feng Muchen then awoke, holding her hand and recounting that she had begged him not to leave last night. He confessed that he had finally met someone he couldn't let go of and vowed never to leave her. He acknowledged that she might not remember him now, but expressed his belief that she would eventually recall their past, promising to protect her until that day. To avoid embarrassment, Wange immediately pretended to be asleep.

Meanwhile, Ning Yuan, blaming himself for failing to protect Wange, poured water over his head as self-punishment. Yun Yi intervened, telling him that the incident was over and Wange was fine. Ning Yuan insisted it was his dereliction of duty, as he was not there when Wange was in danger. Yun Yi then playfully suggested that he himself was perhaps "more" negligent for occasionally overlooking his boss, Feng Muchen, implying Ning Yuan's self-punishment was excessive.

Feng Muchen, now looking refreshed after his ordeal, was seen discarding his extravagant ring and watch. Later that morning, Wange pondered Feng Muchen's unexpected overnight vigil and worried if he had witnessed any embarrassing sleeping habits. Feng Muchen entered, commenting on her small amount of toothpaste and playfully asking about past boyfriends. Wange clarified that she had never had a boyfriend, a revelation that confirmed Feng Muchen's suspicion that she had indeed forgotten their shared past.

He then continued to tease her, remarking on her improved toothpaste habits and jokingly offering to be her "father." Suddenly, Feng Muchen clutched his chest, experiencing sharp pain and questioning if he had a heart condition or if his body was struggling to adapt to something. Someone, likely Yun Yi, observed Feng Muchen's condition, attributing it to a "system problem."

Episode 9 Recap

Feng Muchen suddenly experienced a sharp pain in his chest. When Wange asked what was wrong, he lied, claiming it was a heart condition, but privately worried that his system was malfunctioning, touching the "happiness switch necklace" around his neck. At breakfast, Wange was surprised that Feng Muchen knew her dislike for egg yolks and that she used to wear glasses. She found his sudden intimacy unusual, as she knew little about him.

Feng Muchen explained his knowledge came from caring deeply about her, accusing her of being cold for not knowing his habits. Wange expressed concern that Feng Muchen's absence from a business dinner the previous night might harm Feng's business. He brushed it off, stating he chose her over business and falsely blamed Yun Yi for puncturing their car tire.

Yun Yi denied it, but Feng Muchen silenced him, demanding that his "models" in the house be discarded, stating Wange was his only "treasure." Just then, a company representative called Feng Muchen, furious that his no-show had cost Feng's all their orders. Feng Muchen remained unfazed, declaring that breakfast with Wange was more important and announcing he would work from home to balance family and career.

Yun Yi and Ning Yuan, Wange's maid, discussed Feng Muchen's clingy behavior, with Ning Yuan remarking on his unusual actions and the common belief that he married Wange for money. Later, Feng Muchen showed Wange a brooch, which Wange recognized as a gift from her grandfather. He revealed it had a hidden recording function and played a clip.

The recording featured Chen Ma, Shen Lingzhu's trusted confidante, discussing an arrangement to drug Wange and throw her into a pond for a large sum of money from Shen Lingzhu. Wange was enraged, realizing Shen Lingzhu had orchestrated her fall into the water. Feng Muchen advised her not to act impulsively, suggesting that Shen Lingzhu lacked the intelligence to plan such a complex scheme alone and that a true mastermind was likely pulling the strings. Wange agreed to wait.

Wange became increasingly uneasy about Feng Muchen's recent attentive behavior, even searching online for advice on "what to do if my husband loves me very much." She suspected he might be the mastermind and secretly checked for hidden cameras in her room, only to find a smoke alarm, making her wonder if she had misjudged him.

Meanwhile, Ning Yuan confirmed that Shen Lingzhu had indeed instructed Chen Ma's son to cause Wange's fall into the lake, providing evidence that matched the recording. Ning Yuan also reported that a Mr. Jackson, whose information was limited, might be linked to the deeper plot. Realizing the importance of investigating Mr. Jackson, Wange decided she must attend the upcoming summer camp where he would be the supervisor.

Downstairs, Yun Yi called out to Ning Yuan, who went to learn swimming with him, explaining that it was to better protect Wange. Feng Muchen then entered, giving Wange books on company and inheritance law. He urged her to study them thoroughly to rightfully inherit shares, warning her about experienced businessmen coveting her assets. Wange found his behavior like an NPC giving out tasks.

She tried to hide her laptop screen, which showed a novel titled "What should I do if my husband loves me very much?" with a chapter titled "He's Here." She tried to access it, but the screen went blank, leading her to believe that characters in a novel couldn't read their own stories. When Feng Muchen took a shower with the curtain open, Wange chastised him, but he retorted it was his home and only they were on that floor.

She revealed her newfound "superpower" of photographic memory, which he readily believed. Wange then received a phone call from her father, Lu Wenyuan, inviting her and Feng Muchen for dinner that evening and reminding her to bring the recording brooch to "fight monsters." Later, Feng Muchen and Wange arrived at the Ye family home.

Lu Wenyuan initially expressed disappointment in Feng Muchen for missing the business meeting, but Feng Muchen apologized, explaining he was caring for a sick Wange, who confirmed his story. Shen Lingzhu, referred to as Aunt Zhu, subtly criticized Feng Muchen's lack of ambition and deliberately failed to set a place for him at the table. Lu Wenyuan announced the Ye family's summer camp project, with Mr. Jackson as the supervisor, and encouraged Wange and Wanqing to participate.

Shen Lingzhu tried to dissuade Wange from attending, citing her recent illness. Wange, however, insisted on going and then confronted Shen Lingzhu about the missing tableware for Feng Muchen. Wange played the brooch recording, exposing Shen Lingzhu's plot with Chen Ma. Shen Lingzhu vehemently denied the accusations, claiming Chen Ma was framing her and the recording was false. Feng Muchen calmly explained the brooch's hidden function, corroborating Wange's account.

Cornered, Shen Lingzhu feigned severe stomach pain and dramatically announced her pregnancy. Lu Wenyuan, who had always longed for a son, immediately dropped the investigation, prioritizing Shen Lingzhu's health and the baby. He promised to help Feng Muchen restart his cooperation with the Ye's Group and dismissed them. Wange was enraged, realizing her father's desire for a son had made Shen Lingzhu untouchable.

Feng Muchen comforted Wange, promising her justice and assuring her he would always be there to listen to her worries and support her. Back home, Wange began packing for the summer camp. Feng Muchen, worried about her safety since she couldn't swim, had prepared noodles for her. While she was distracted, he secretly canceled her online registration for the camp on her computer. Wange, annoyed by his constant nagging about her safety near water, told him to leave.

The next morning, Feng Muchen surprised Wange with two small alpacas, which she adored, jokingly asking if he had a guilty conscience. He then revealed two larger alpacas. Wange was delighted, calling them cute. Feng Muchen playfully declared himself their "dad" and Wange their "mom." They named the alpacas Meihan and Runze. Feng Muchen suggested Wange stay home to care for the alpacas, believing his "little trick" had successfully dissuaded her from going to the summer camp. However, Wange, who had anticipated his move, had secretly re-registered for the summer camp on her phone. She happily confirmed her enrollment, ensuring her attendance while Feng Muchen remained unaware.

Episode 10 Recap

Feng Muchen arrived at the summer camp, where Zou Chengji eagerly asked why his "little cousin-in-law," Ye Wange, wasn't there. Feng Muchen stated she couldn't make it. Just then, Ye Wange excitedly ran towards the sea, accompanied by Su Yinyin. Feng Muchen, surprised to see her, rushed to stop her from going further, reminding her that the beach was just ahead. Ye Wange, annoyed, told him to get out of her way.

In their struggle, they accidentally fell, landing in an awkward kiss. A nearby camper quipped about them dating, urging them to get up. Mr. Yang, the camp guide, gathered everyone to announce the first task: setting up tents. Campers grumbled about having to build their own shelters instead of staying in five-star hotels.

Ye Wange expressed her desire to share a tent with Su Yinyin, but Feng Muchen, ever the opportunist, quickly claimed the tent, declaring he could protect her 24/7. As they set up, Feng Muchen jokingly called himself a superhero, which Ye Wange found childish. Later, Feng Muchen took Ye Wange to buy a swimsuit. He insisted on a conservative, full-coverage pink and blue one-piece, claiming it was for sun protection, jellyfish safety, and to ward off "perverts."

Ye Wange was furious, finding it incredibly ugly and suspecting he bought it on purpose. She quickly changed into a more revealing swimsuit, proudly stating it was "what girls should wear." Feng Muchen warned her about sunburn, jellyfish, and other men staring, but she told him it was none of his business. He then took her to learn swimming, despite her fear of water.

Ye Wange protested loudly as he carried her into the sea, exclaiming the water was up to her neck, though Feng Muchen playfully pointed out it was only ankle-deep. As they ventured deeper, Ye Wange panicked, reminding him of her fear and worrying about drifting away. Feng Muchen patiently explained that fear wouldn't save her and encouraged her to face it. She tried but quickly retreated, finding it too deep.

Feng Muchen, holding her close, warned her to stop moving or he might "lose control," leading to Ye Wange calling him a "rascal." He clarified he was referring to his balance on the sandy seabed, a point she jokingly agreed with. Gradually, she relaxed and adapted to the water.

Feng Muchen also gave her a "Facekini," a full-face mask, claiming it was so "no one will dare stare at my Mrs. Feng," but she refused to wear it, saying she wasn't robbing a bank. Mr. Yang announced there would be a music festival with girl group dances that night, but due to budget constraints, they needed two groups to volunteer to perform. Under an inexplicable impulse, Ye Wange volunteered, wondering if she was "controlled by the author."

She tried to convince Su Yinyin to join her, but Su Yinyin refused, unwilling to compromise her "helmet and motorcycle" image. Seeing Ye Wange struggle to rehearse, Feng Muchen suggested Zou Chengji, who supposedly "knows some girl group dances," could help. After some convincing and a demonstration of Zou Chengji's unexpected flexibility, Feng Muchen devised a plan. Later, Feng Muchen and Zou Chengji, dressed in women's outfits, performed with Ye Wange and Su Yinyin.

Feng Muchen tried to make Ye Wange cover her revealing costume, but she told him to worry about himself. That evening, Su Yinyin observed Feng Muchen's actions throughout the day and finally understood why Ye Wange had been attracted to him, remarking on how much he was willing to sacrifice and how different he was now. Ye Wange agreed, acknowledging his changed demeanor, having herself secretly fallen in love with him.

Feng Muchen then took Ye Wange to the beach to "sober up." As they admired the sea, he asked if she liked it, and then if she liked him. She noted his eyes sparkled "like stars." Despite her feelings, and overwhelmed by his kindness, Ye Wange tried to express her reservations, apologizing and stating, "I can't." Feng Muchen apologized for being too impatient, but Ye Wange clarified it wasn't his fault.

She confessed she couldn't be with him "now or ever" and asked if he could accept that. When he said no, she rephrased, asking if he could accept it if she couldn't fall in love with him for some reason. Internally, Ye Wange struggled with his persistent kindness, knowing she loved him but feeling unable to be with him due to her identity.

She wondered if she should marry him, but then rationalized that he might be nice to everyone, leading her to question if his kindness was solely because he liked her. Feng Muchen asked if she wished he liked her, and she quickly denied it. Returning to their tent, they found Su Yinyin and Zou Chengji already settled inside, suggesting they go to sleep.

Feng Muchen instructed Ye Wange to sleep inside with Su Yinyin while he slept outside to protect her. However, his incessant sneezing eventually prompted Ye Wange to let him in, telling him to stop acting. Once inside, Zou Chengji cheekily commented about them finally "sleeping together," for which Ye Wange promptly told him to shut up. She then complained about Feng Muchen's head resting on her hand, and after a brief adjustment, they wished each other good night.

Meanwhile, Shen Lingzhu met her lover at a bar. Her lover expressed concern about Ye Grandpa having seen him dropping her home. Shen Lingzhu dismissed his worries, stating that "that old man" was in very poor health and "about to die." She coldly added that "Xiao Ge" (Ye Wange) would "all be dead soon," and once these "stumbling blocks" were removed, the Ye Group would rightfully become the Shen Group.

The next morning, Ye Wange decided to face her fear of water and joined Yuan for surfing. Yuan agreed, noting the calm morning waves, and Ye Wange recalled Feng Muchen's advice about facing fears. While they were enjoying themselves, Yuan received an urgent phone call from her boss, Chen Ye. Yuan had previously been tasked by Chen Ye to attend the camp and gather information on the students.

During the call, Chen Ye expressed concern and asked if "Ye Wange should be fine." Yuan had to leave immediately, apologizing to Ye Wange. Ye Wange was left alone at the beach.

Episode 11 Recap

Feng Muchen, learning that Ye Wange was at the beach, dropped what he was doing and rushed there. He called out to her just as she lost her balance and fell from her surfboard. Luckily, he reached her in time and saved her. After the rescue, Feng Muchen questioned why Ye Wange went surfing alone and so far out, reminding her about the dangers of the beach and his intention to protect her.

Ye Wange explained that she had encountered Chen Yuanyuan surfing that morning and, inspired by Feng Muchen's advice to be brave, asked Chen Yuanyuan to teach her. She admitted it wasn't Chen Yuanyuan's fault for her being alone in the water and apologized, acknowledging Feng Muchen's concern. Feng Muchen, still concerned, told her to drink water, remarking on her "disobedient" nature.

Later, Chengji, busy fixing his motorcycle, found himself surrounded by a group of women eagerly asking him to teach them how to ride. Su Yinyin stepped in to deter the persistent women, then admonished Chengji for his inability to refuse people. She noted that he unwillingly attempted to teach the women yet readily got on her motorcycle with just a simple gesture.

Chengji clarified that while he struggled to refuse the women, he willingly joined her because he considered her a friend. He explained that since their first meeting at the bar, he found her extraordinary and, after spending time together at the summer camp, recognized her as forthright and sincere. He cherishes his friends' happiness and is content with his approach to friendship.

Su Yinyin, however, suggested he should develop more "character," reminding him of past instances where others took advantage of his compliant nature. She playfully labeled him a "Server type" personality before they rode off together. For their camp's closing ceremony, it was announced that due to budget constraints, participants would need to acquire ingredients, cook, and clean up their own dinner. Inspired by a detailed business analysis, the group decided to set up a barbecue stall by the beach.

Ye Wange eagerly took on the grilling, with Feng Muchen diligently shading her with an umbrella, concerned about sunburn. While she initially pushed him away, asking him to stop hovering as the kebabs might burn, her attention was soon diverted. She received an urgent phone call from Ning Yuan, informing her that Grandpa Ye was unwell. Alarmed, Ye Wange immediately prepared to leave.

Feng Muchen offered to accompany her, but she insisted he stay behind to keep Mr. Jackson occupied at the closing ceremony, promising to call him. Upon arriving at the hospital, Ye Wange found Shen Lingzhu with Grandpa Ye. Grandpa Ye expressed surprise at her early return, but Ye Wange affectionately claimed she missed him. She politely dismissed Shen Lingzhu, requesting private time with her grandfather. Left alone, Shen Lingzhu made a discreet phone call, asserting, "This time, you can't fail."

Grandpa Ye, feigning good health, reassured Ye Wange that he was merely there for routine check-ups and urged her to return to the camp, emphasizing the importance of Mr. Jackson's rare appearance and her responsibilities. Ning Yuan then escorted Ye Wange out, who promised to learn Tai Chi from her grandfather later.

On her way back to the camp, Ye Wange received a call from Feng Muchen, who informed her that Mr. Jackson had unexpectedly canceled his appearance due to a schedule change. Upset, Ye Wange questioned Ning Yuan why she hadn't been informed earlier about Grandpa Ye's condition. Ning Yuan admitted his condition had "deteriorated a bit fast recently" and that Grandpa Ye hadn't wanted her to worry. Ye Wange instructed Ning Yuan to investigate the matter.

She then informed Feng Muchen she was on Yuewan Road, asserting her intention to return to the camp to complete her duties, and asked him to wait for her. As Ye Wange and Ning Yuan traveled along Yuewan Road, her phone lost signal, a problem mirrored on Ning Yuan's device. Suddenly, Ning Yuan's car swerved, narrowly avoiding danger thanks to Yun Yi's car horn.

Upon inspection, Ning Yuan discovered specially made four-cornered spikes scattered on the road, confirming that someone had intentionally placed them to cause harm. He instructed Yun Yi to take Ye Wange to safety while he remained to investigate further. Ye Wange asked Yun Yi how he knew to come and about the danger, to which Yun Yi revealed that Feng Muchen had sent him, knowing she was on Yuewan Road.

Ye Wange was astonished by Feng Muchen's seemingly clairvoyant insight, noting that without his timely intervention, she and Ning Yuan could have been seriously injured. Earlier, after Feng Muchen learned Ye Wange was on Yuewan Road and realized she was in danger as predicted by the novel's plot, he instantly fainted due to the telencephalon system's intervention.

He woke up to his cousin, Yuan, a doctor, who admonished him for attempting to alter the novel's plot after it had been uploaded, warning him of severe consequences like becoming a "vegetable" due to the unstable telencephalon technology. Feng Muchen insisted he had to stay to protect Ye Wange, as he believed someone at the summer camp intended to harm her.

Yuan, who had administered medication that could not last long, reiterated the rules against interfering with the plot or giving hints to Ye Wange. She later gave him more medicine for discomfort, which she said could only last for three days, emphasizing her unique "doctor" skill, before quickly departing as someone approached.

Feng Muchen then deceptively told Ye Wange he had fainted from hunger while helping with the barbecue, quickly changing the subject when she pressed him about how he knew of the danger on the road. After Ye Wange left to get him a Diet Coke, she returned to find him gone, making her wonder if her hunger was causing hallucinations.

At the closing ceremony, Chen Ye introduced himself as a successful businessman and guest speaker, extending his well wishes to the graduates. He then presented Ye Wange with a bouquet of flowers, wishing her a happy graduation. However, Feng Muchen quickly intervened, taking the flowers and claiming his "wife" was allergic to pollen, a fabrication he later admitted to Ye Wange. Feng Muchen then thanked Chen Ye and led Ye Wange away for a walk along the beach.

Ye Wange was delighted to discover the beautiful scene Feng Muchen had arranged, adorned with her favorite Platycodon grandiflorus flowers. She asked how he knew her preference and if the Ye Wange in the novel also shared this liking. Feng Muchen revealed the flower's meaning: "Sincere and unchanging love," before delivering a heartfelt confession. He acknowledged her concerns but stated his clear intent to express his feelings.

He tenderly described life as a vast sea, Ye Wange as a small boat with her own destination, and himself as the steadfast Trestle, patiently awaiting her return. Ye Wange, reflecting on his words, recognized his past self-centeredness and thanked him for inspiring her growth. She admitted that his constant presence in her life now felt "quite good."

Feng Muchen then promised he would "never leave her again," a statement that prompted Ye Wange to ponder why it sounded as if he had left her before. Despite her mission and the possibility that these beautiful moments might be illusory, Ye Wange decided to give in to her feelings. They shared a passionate kiss and embraced, finally breaking through their previous inhibitions.

Their embrace was interrupted by a phone call for Ye Wange, bringing news that Grandpa Ye's condition had worsened. She immediately turned to Feng Muchen, asking him to accompany her to visit him.

Episode 12 Recap

Wange visited Ye Huating in the hospital, where he playfully pretended to be well, even joking about Feng Muchen’s company potentially going bankrupt, though he quickly retracted the joke to express his hope of seeing Wange married and meeting his great-grandchild next year. Wange promised to have children within a year, making him happy, and he hinted at a grand reward for them.

Shortly after, Wange was called out of the room for an urgent consultation update, learning that all doctors were already meeting, indicating the seriousness of his condition. She rushed back to his bedside, calling for him, but tragically, Ye Huating passed away. At Ye Huating’s funeral, a grief-stricken Wange felt that everything was meaningless and expressed her inability to understand how to move forward.

Feng Muchen comforted her, reminding her that her grandpa would want her to live a good life and assuring her that he was still by her side. He then revealed to Wange that he, too, could see the novel's plot, demonstrating their shared unique connection. He promised that they were not merely subject to fate and urged her to live her life to the fullest, to smile and stop crying.

Meanwhile, Shen Lingzhu spoke with her husband (presumably Lu Wenyuan), asserting that with "the old man gone," he could now take bold actions within the company. She subtly brought up Ye Huating’s dying wish for Wange to take over, but quickly suggested that Wange was too young and should start from an entry-level position to learn the ropes. Her husband agreed, praising her thoughtfulness. Shen Lingzhu then proposed that their daughter, Wanqing, also join the company to intern alongside Wange.

However, Wanqing arrived and expressed her desire to work at the Meilian branch, a new company, to gain more experience rather than the main company. Her father supported her decision, but Shen Lingzhu privately criticized Wanqing, believing she was making a mistake that would only benefit Wange. Wanqing explained her ambition to manage Meilian well to earn her father's respect.

News spread that "the daughter of the Ye family is heartless" and "Mr. Feng Jr's marriage failed, Feng's company can't escape bankruptcy." Wange confronted Feng Muchen about his seeming indifference, labeling it a "lying-down philosophy." He merely told her to wait and see. Soon after, three shareholders confronted Feng Muchen about his prolonged absence and the company's financial crisis.

They claimed that Wange had been cold-hearted and refused to help, despite their pleas, and declared they could no longer continue working for Feng's. Feng Muchen calmly accepted their resignations and had them sign the agreements. Just then, Chen Ye arrived, announcing that a significant commercial order for Greater China had been secured, with the deposit arriving that very day, which would resolve Feng's liquidity issues.

The departing shareholders realized they had been tricked, and Chen Ye pointedly warned them about the small business world and the repercussions of abandoning a company in times of trouble. After they left, Wange understood that Feng Muchen had orchestrated the fake bankruptcy news to cleverly oust the unloyal shareholders without paying severance. She praised his intelligence, but he quickly became drowsy and developed a headache, which he attributed to sleepiness.

Later, Wange returned to their room and found Feng Muchen in a deep, unresponsive sleep. Worried, she called for Yun Yi and Ning Yuan to summon an ambulance. They confirmed he was fine but suggested he had a "sleep disorder" and jokingly recommended "Snow White's kiss" or "Frog Prince" to wake him up, implying Wange should kiss him. Annoyed, Wange insisted on calling real medical help.

As she tried to rouse Feng Muchen, he suddenly woke up, admitting he was pretending. He pulled her down for a kiss, but Yun Yi and Ning Yuan's untimely entrance interrupted them. Wange startled, accidentally stepping on Feng Muchen's leg, causing him to wince in pain. His assistants exaggeratedly fretted about his injury, claiming he might need a wheelchair. Feng Muchen then playfully demanded Wange take care of him, asking for kisses and hugs.

Wange later fed Feng Muchen his medicine and pressed him to confess where he was from. He humorously avoided the question, saying he was her "sweetheart." When she insisted, he typed "Anhui Huainan," revealing his origin. Wange jokingly warned him that she didn't accept long-distance relationships. Feng Muchen then surprised her by listing her favorite local foods, realizing they were both "folks" from the same region.

He promised to make rolled noodles for her once they were out of the novel. Wange told him her father had called, asking her to start working at the company, signaling a new plot development. Feng Muchen presented her with a new suit he had personally made, revealing that he, too, had "cheated" in the novel to gain skills.

They speculated about what their real-life meeting would be like and reiterated their goal of escaping the novel once "this career line is finished." Feng Muchen advised Wange to be cautious of the people around her at the new company, as he wouldn't be able to assist her directly. Wange confidently declared she was ready to face whatever challenges the author had in store.

In preparation for their big project with the Ye Group, Chen Ye informed Yuan that Mr. Jackson would be returning to China to participate. He assigned Yuan the role of deputy project leader at the Ye Group to oversee the collaboration. When Wange arrived at the Ye Group for her new job, she was greeted by a line of employees who addressed her as "Miss Ye," including Yuan, who confirmed they would be working together.

Wange, feeling uncomfortable with the special treatment, asked everyone to be low-key, emphasizing she was merely an intern. She was shown to her workstation, noting how high-profile her position as a "Miss" made her work seem. Project Manager Chen Yin introduced himself to Wange, immediately offering her snacks, a private rest room, and the flexibility to leave early. Wange asserted that she was there to intern, not to relax, and intended to follow company rules.

Chen Yin brushed off her concerns, telling her to take her time getting familiar with the environment. Wange soon realized that her planning documents were empty, and she had no tasks, feeling as though she was being intentionally sidelined. She tried to engage Chen Yin, asking if she could help with his work, but he consistently declined. Frustrated after three days of idleness, knowing only office trivia, Wange confronted Chen Yin, demanding a "decent job" related to fashion brand operations.

He suggested she watch dramas and analyze their streaming data. Wange proposed taking on any available project, but Chen Yin claimed all projects were assigned and there were no vacancies, advising her to wait. He further explained that her father, Mr. Ye, had instructed him not to overwork her, making his position as a supervisor difficult. Wange understood her father's true intention: to marginalize her.

Determined not to be a "figurehead," Wange decided to relentlessly pester Chen Yin, offering to assist him by bringing him tea and water daily, cleaning his workspace, and even accidentally (or perhaps deliberately) causing minor mishaps like spilling water on his data or computer. Faced with her persistence, Chen Yin became increasingly flustered and seemingly had no option but to eventually address her demands.

Episode 13 Recap

Wange, reviewing the spring show documents, discovered it hadn't been profitable for years. She initially tried to gather information from employees, but they were unhelpful, claiming ignorance about past projects. When she specifically asked an employee for the spring show proposal, they dismissively told her it was "a thing of the past" and that they would show her "when the company has a new project." Wange, undeterred, insisted they "bring it to my desk later."

Reflecting on the unprofitability, lack of sales, and absence of significant branding, Wange suspected foul play. Realizing direct questioning was ineffective, she decided to use kindness. She ordered afternoon tea for everyone, thanking them for their hard work. This gesture quickly changed the employees' attitudes. Some commented that she "doesn't seem that bossy," though others suspected she was just "trying to get us on board."

However, many employees noted she had "been very good" and hadn't "given us a hard time," concluding they should "ride her coattails" as she was the "daughter of Ye family." One employee even proactively offered Wange last year's spring show data, hoping it would be helpful. Wange returned home, humming cheerfully. Feng Muchen, who had heard rumors that she was ineffective at the company, playfully confronted her.

He offered his assistance, suggesting she ask him if she needed guidance, as he was "happy to show you the ropes." Wange, however, confidently stated that she hadn't yet revealed her main strategy and told him to "just wait." Chen Yin, having a secret rendezvous with Shen Lingzhu at her home, voiced his frustration with Wange, describing her as "a real hard nut to crack" at the office.

He complained that she, despite his junior supervisor status, was "lording it over" him and creating a chaotic atmosphere. Shen Lingzhu agreed, wondering when Wange would stop her disruptive behavior, which extended from home to the office. She urged Chen Yin to "teach her a lesson." She also warned him that Lu Wenyuan would "personally oversee company affairs," advising Chen Yin to "be careful." Suddenly, Lu Wenyuan returned, prompting Shen Lingzhu to quickly hide Chen Yin in a secret compartment.

She then greeted Lu Wenyuan with feigned surprise and affection. She began to complain about Wange, fabricating a story that Wange was "as bossy at work as she is at home," making it "difficult for the leaders in the company to do their work." Lu Wenyuan expressed skepticism, saying he hadn't heard anything.

Shen Lingzhu pressed him, suggesting that others might be hesitant to bother him and emphasizing that he "should take care of it" to prevent employees from being "out of control." Despite Lu Wenyuan's initial reluctance, citing a lack of authority, Shen Lingzhu encouraged him, asking how he could claim he was "not in a position to do that" when he was her "dear."

Reassured by her support, Lu Wenyuan declared that with her encouragement, he would "go ahead and do it." A housekeeper then announced Chen Ye's arrival. As Lu Wenyuan prepared to meet Chen Ye, Shen Lingzhu subtly reassured the hidden Chen Yin, telling him she would be "waiting" for him. Lu Wenyuan then met with Chen Ye.

Chen Ye flattered Lu Wenyuan's calligraphy, saying he was "getting more and more like Mr. Le Quan" and praised his ability to find solace in writing amidst a fast-paced society. Chen Ye then lauded Lu Wenyuan's "bold reform" in business, predicting a significant increase in Ye's profits. Lu Wenyuan, in turn, revealed his long-planned project involving direct private labeling, which Old Mr. Ye had been "firmly against" due to being "too old-fashioned."

He asserted that he would pursue any "reasonable and profitable" endeavor. Since Chen Ye approved, Lu Wenyuan declared his decision to "cancel the cooperation with Feng's Group." Chen Ye reacted, noting this would be "the death blow for Feng's Group," but Lu Wenyuan simply stated he would "pay you as agreed," indicating no hesitation. Before a company meeting, Chen Yin subtly warned the employees against aligning with Wange.

He remarked that recent events had made everyone "impetuous" and prone to "make mistakes," urging them to differentiate "who is a passer-by, and who is the lighthouse that always guides you?" implying Wange was the former. Wange then entered with Feng Muchen, whom she had specially invited to "sit in" as they were collaborating with Feng's Group.

She launched into her confident online sales proposal, noting that while Ye's had historically been an "offline high-end brand," "online shopping has become a major consumption mode for young people." Her plan was to "open up a line that focuses on the Internet," partnering with the Melbourne-inspired youth fashion brand, Orange Cube. This would "increase our popularity and our sales" by adding "creativity and practicality" to "discontinued products," with Feng's Group entrusted to "improve the production."

She confidently predicted "good profits." An individual, presumably Chen Yin, challenged her proposal, citing "cost input." He countered by suggesting they "start with the leftovers from the marketing warehouse" and assess if her "element of luck and happiness" resonated with the market. He presented an ultimatum: "If you can sell 70% in a month, I'll pass your proposal." Feng Muchen quickly supported Wange, assuring them that "modification is faster than re-manufacturing," and Ye's existing stock only required "a partial adjustment."

Wange accepted the challenge with a firm "Deal," and the meeting was adjourned with a skeptical "Let's wait and see." After the meeting, Wange asked Feng Muchen if she had performed well, noting that once the plan was approved, she could place an order with him. Feng Muchen jokingly suggested they would become a "mom-and-pop shop," which Wange quickly dismissed, preferring to remain his "client."

Feng Muchen then presented her with his meeting notes, which contained a charming cartoon of her, captioned "A beautiful and cute girl, Ge, in Feng's eyes." Wange playfully feigned offense, asking if she was "so fat in your heart," but Feng Muchen reassured her that she was "pretty and cute." Wange then sought out Su Yinyin, hoping to leverage her social media platform for a live stream.

Su Yinyin was initially resistant, insisting her video identity was all about her "riding a motorcycle" and fiercely protecting her "persona." Wange, however, employed her classic tactic, repeatedly emphasizing, "You're the only best friend I have." She then appealed to Su Yinyin's loyalty, explaining that the project department didn't trust her, and she desperately needed "beautiful trial sale data" to get her plan approved. She asked if Su Yinyin could "see your best friend get laughed at."

Reluctantly, Su Yinyin agreed "just for this once," warning Wange that if she failed, she would be subjected to "20 rides" on Akina Mountain. Wange, delighted, readily accepted. During the live stream, Wange showcased their numerous styles, highlighting the presence of "famous tailors" to customize designs. Feng Muchen introduced himself as a "famous designer of haute couture," lending professional credibility.

Wange later pointed out to Su Yinyin that viewers were calling her by a pet name, "Smelly cute girl," which visibly annoyed Su Yinyin. Wange also noted a comment asking for Zou Chengji's contact information, specifically mentioning it was from "a man," prompting Chengji to quickly deny any involvement. After the live stream, Feng Muchen hosted a meal at his home with Chengji, Su Yinyin, and Wange. Chengji praised Wange's cooking, calling her "Sister-in-law, you're amazing."

Over dinner, Feng Muchen teased Chengji about his growing closeness with Su Yinyin. He dubbed Chengji a "lick dog," warning him that he would "get nothing in the end" if he remained "submissive." Chengji, however, defended his "gentle" approach, claiming Su Yinyin preferred it. Feng Muchen challenged him, insisting that "men can't just be submissive" and must "show what you can do, just like me." Chengji, skeptical, dared Feng Muchen to prove his point.

Later, Su Yinyin confronted Wange, asking if Chengji had "been asking you out a lot recently," to which Wange denied. Su Yinyin then hinted that Chengji had "conquered the heart of our 'smelly cute girl'" (referring to herself). Wange, however, playfully retorted that it was Su Yinyin's fault, as Wange's own "assertiveness" had to be "hidden" for the "damn sales" scheme they were working on. She concluded that both Feng Muchen and Chengji "have some serious illness."

Chengji, attempting to demonstrate his newfound "manly" charm by offering Su Yinyin some food, was fiercely rejected. Then, attempting a cutesy, gentle approach on Wange, he offered her various snacks and drinks with overly sweet diminutives. Wange, thoroughly disgusted, called him "crazy." Feng Muchen, witnessing the debacle, declared his "little class is closed today." Despite the live stream's success, Wange felt there were "a lot of questions" and decided to "go back and review it" immediately.

She also reminded Feng Muchen to complete the "new design drawing" and "get back to work on time" if he hadn't. Feng Muchen tried to encourage her to separate "life and work," but Wange was adamant, stating she "really want to do well this time" and had "a lot of catching up to do." Feng Muchen showed his support by bringing her a glass of milk, which she initially refused.

He then presented a detailed schedule he had created for her, titled "Victory," with entries like "Online Marketing Learning" and "Shopping research the Market." Wange was baffled, asking, "What is this? This is a turtle, right?" She also questioned a "brain spa" entry, which Feng Muchen explained as "relaxing your mind" and then playfully demonstrated a "brain massage" on her. Wange, finding him "boring," pushed him away. As he left, Wange admitted to herself that "he's kind of cute."

Later, Feng Muchen tried to persuade her to go to bed, suggesting she could continue her work in the morning, but Wange insisted he "sleep first," as she wasn't ready to stop working. While Wange was working overtime, the power suddenly went out. In the darkness, Feng Muchen quietly approached her, holding a doll with the intention of scaring her. However, he was caught off guard when Wange, with her hair disheveled from intense work, let out a piercing scream, which in turn made Feng Muchen shriek in fright.

Episode 14 Recap

Wange and Feng Muchen were picking out clothes, and as Feng Muchen measured a dress on Wange, she experienced a sudden sense of familiarity. However, she quickly dismissed it, attributing the feeling to the novel's wealthy protagonist, Ye Wange, who would undoubtedly be accustomed to custom tailoring services. Feng Muchen, who had hoped Wange's past memories were resurfacing, felt a pang of disappointment upon hearing her explanation.

Later, Wange and Feng Muchen discovered Shen Lingzhu and Chen Yin engaged in an illicit affair in a fitting room. They quickly took out their phones to gather evidence but accidentally made a noise, causing Shen Lingzhu and Chen Yin to flee in a panic. Wange expressed frustration at failing to secure any concrete proof, but Feng Muchen playfully suggested they had at least learned some new kissing techniques, then slowly moved closer to Wange.

At the company, everyone was preparing for the arrival of Mr. Jackson. Yuan Yuan reminded Wange that her previous trial sales had been successful and suggested increasing the stock for the upcoming major promotion festival. Wange approached Director Chen Yin to discuss adding a production line, but he offered various excuses and evasions. Learning of Wange's business struggles, Feng Muchen realized the company was trying to hinder her progress by denying her a production line.

He offered to let her use Feng's production lines. However, Wange wished to leverage Ye's resources to help Feng's, not to rely on Feng's production lines for her own projects. During a company meeting, Wange presented her Orange Cube proposal for online sales. Despite her compelling presentation, the other directors showed little support. Suddenly, Mr. Jackson entered the room. He highly praised Wange's innovative approach, particularly her "lucky and beautiful" design, which he and his assistant Lisa found appealing.

Director Chen Yin attempted to claim credit, stating Wange's plan was "out" and presenting his own, but Mr. Jackson immediately corrected him, declaring Wange's proposal approved. Mr. Jackson then complimented Wange and expressed regret about not meeting her at a summer camp, hinting at a future private discussion before excusing himself and Lisa to leave. With Mr. Jackson's endorsement, Wange successfully secured the much-needed production line from the now-compliant directors.

Upon returning home, Wange excitedly recounted her triumph to Feng Muchen. She noticed he was acting suspiciously and sweating, claiming he had been working out. She also detected an unfamiliar perfume scent on him, which was not his usual fragrance. Growing suspicious, she decided to covertly investigate the reason behind Feng Muchen's strange behavior. The next day, Wange brought an iced Americano to Mr. Jackson, thanking him for his help.

She "accidentally" spilled the coffee on him and subtly confirmed that the perfume he wore was indeed different from the scent she had detected on Feng Muchen. She immediately apologized for her clumsiness. Mr. Jackson, surprisingly calm, forgave her, saying she was "beautiful." As he left, he remarked that he hoped she wouldn't spill coffee on her boyfriend and advised her to "do housework well" and "be good to your future husband," which reignited Wange's suspicions.

She pursued him, but he quickly evaded her. Determined to get to the bottom of Feng Muchen's odd behavior, Wange visited him at Feng's company. Yun Yi spotted her approaching and quickly alerted Feng Muchen, who was in the middle of changing clothes and had his trousers unbuttoned. He hastily tried to compose himself. When Wange entered his office, she noticed he was sitting unusually still and asked if he was feeling unwell.

Yun Yi, seeing Feng Muchen's predicament, tried to distract Wange by dramatically singing and commenting on the lovely weather. Wange, however, cut straight to the chase, asking Feng Muchen if he had her perfume on him, directly implying she suspected him of being with other women at the office. Feng Muchen, clearly flustered, asked if she was trying to catch him in the act.

Episode 15 Recap

Feng Muchen approached Wang Ge with a glass of hot milk, knowing she was still awake. Wang Ge expressed her concerns about a new company assignment: filming a short video titled "A Day in the Life of a Young Socialite" alongside Lu Wanqing. She worried that her true identity as a fake rich girl might be exposed.

Feng Muchen reassured her, suggesting she simply act as extravagant and artificial as possible to appeal to the audience's curiosity about the wealthy lifestyle. Meanwhile, Lu Wanqing was busy recording her part of the promotional video, recounting a childhood memory of running away from home and finding a "secret base" where she met a kind "big brother." Later, Wang Ge and Lu Wanqing watched the edited video together.

Wang Ge felt she looked like a clown and feared her fake identity would be revealed, but Lu Wanqing found her cute and unpretentious in the footage. Separately, Chen Ye watched Lu Wanqing's video. Her story about the secret base and meeting a big brother, who gave her a bird whistle, triggered his own childhood memories, leading him to realize that Lu Wanqing was the lost little girl he had helped years ago.

While watching the edited video, Wang Ge and Lu Wanqing inadvertently overheard Shen Lingzhu and Chen Yin having an affair, captured by their recording equipment. Shen Lingzhu was discussing how the new company would soon occupy Ye Shuyuan's time, leaving her free to be with Chen Yin. Wang Ge comforted a distressed Lu Wanqing, emphasizing that the affair was not her fault, but Lu Wanqing firmly decided to inform her father, Ye Shuyuan.

Later, Shen Lingzhu returned home to find Ye Shuyuan and the family gathered, noticing his grim expression. She immediately tried to deflect by accusing Wang Ge of framing her. However, Lu Wanqing stepped forward and confessed that she was the one who revealed Shen Lingzhu's affair with Chen Yin, which had been captured on video.

Lu Wanqing explained that everyone must face the consequences of their actions and she couldn't stand by while her father's hard work flowed into outsiders' hands. Dropping her pretense, Shen Lingzhu claimed her actions were minor compared to Ye Shuyuan's and attempted to use her pregnancy as a shield, declaring her love and that the child was his. Unmoved, Ye Shuyuan declared he never wanted to see her again.

Lu Wanqing then insisted on a paternity test for Shen Lingzhu's unborn child, suggesting it was not Ye Shuyuan's and that she didn't want to inadvertently become an older sister to someone else's child. She even provided a USB drive containing recordings of Shen Lingzhu and Chen Yin discussing transferring company assets. Ye Shuyuan, enraged, ordered Chen Yin to be brought in and threatened him with severe consequences if the baby was not his.

Despite Shen Lingzhu's desperate pleas and affirmations of love, Ye Shuyuan remained resolute. He ordered her belongings to be thrown out and, collapsing in anger, agreed to the paternity test. Wang Ge internally celebrated the punishment of the "evil stepmother." Lu Wanqing then tried to instruct Mrs. Wang to send Shen Lingzhu's luggage to Shen Lingzhu's mother, but Mrs. Wang refused, forcing Lu Wanqing to personally oversee the removal of Shen Lingzhu’s belongings, asserting her authority over the defiant servants.

Wang Ge then received a call from Mr. Jackson, who scheduled a meeting for the next morning at her home to finalize the transfer of her entrusted shares. She asked Feng Muchen to accompany her, and he agreed, but then quickly excused himself, saying he had something to do. Feng Muchen secretly met with the real Mr. Jackson beforehand.

He apologized for impersonating him at Ye's Group and asked Mr. Jackson to keep his deception a secret from Wang Ge, as she disliked receiving help. Mr. Jackson explained that he had been holding Wang Ge's shares on behalf of her mother for years, which made him a target for Ye Shuyuan's harassment. He detailed how he had to take elaborate precautions, like booking multiple flights at different times and using a disguise, to return to the country safely.

He praised Feng Muchen's assistant, Yun Yi, for being clever enough to identify him despite his efforts to remain hidden. Before their meeting with Wang Ge, Mr. Jackson requested Feng Muchen's help with an urgent task. Later, when a Mr. Jackson arrived at Wang Ge's home for the scheduled meeting, Wang Ge, still suspicious, believed it was Feng Muchen in another disguise. She playfully pulled on his hair, only to discover it was real, causing her immense embarrassment.

Mr. Jackson, amused by her antics, confirmed that Feng Muchen had indeed impersonated him before and was currently attending an event on his behalf, as he had "experience pretending to be me." With the confusion cleared, they proceeded with the stock transfer. Wang Ge then asked Mr. Jackson about her mother's imprisonment. He revealed that he had also been investigating and was certain that Shen Lingzhu was merely a pawn, and the true mastermind behind her mother's demise was still at large.

Episode 16 Recap

After Wange completed the stock transfer with Mr. Jackson, she inquired about the truth behind her mother's imprisonment. Mr. Jackson revealed that despite years of their own investigations, the case remained unsolved. He could only confirm that Shen Lingzhu was merely a pawn, and someone else was truly responsible for Wange's mother's demise. Meanwhile, in another location, a subordinate reported to their boss that the target had been apprehended, and the boss ordered them to "Leave no trace behind."

However, the kidnappers soon realized they had seized Feng Muchen, who had been impersonating Mr. Jackson. Recognizing their mistake, they hastily threw him out. Feng Muchen then found himself inexplicably trapped within the novel world, unable to escape. He realized that his unauthorized modifications to the plot had caused a system rejection, leaving his consciousness sealed in this space. He recalled a critical warning: any discomfort in his body required immediate offline action, lest his consciousness be permanently confined.

Within the novel world, Wange was guided to a blind date where Chen Ye initiated a conversation with her. Observing them from the world of telencephalon, Feng Muchen grew jealous of their intimate interaction. He attempted to delete the scene the author had written, but the system's "rewind" function kept restoring it. He struggled to manipulate the narrative, repeatedly trying to erase or paste elements, but the author continuously introduced new characters or reverted his changes.

He understood he had to act faster than the author. Later, at an event, Wanqing twisted her ankle. Chen Ye rushed to assist her, but their interaction sparked malicious gossip among the crowd. They mocked Wanqing, labeling her the mistress's daughter, referencing her mother's affair and expulsion from the Ye family, and accusing Wanqing of faking her injury to seduce Chen Ye for financial gain.

Wange fiercely defended her sister, asserting that the Ye family's affairs were not their concern and that bullying Wanqing was akin to bullying her, vowing to confront each of them. Chen Ye also intervened, warning the gossips to leave his venue and reassuring Wanqing not to heed their words, as he knew her better than their judgments suggested. Feng Muchen then discovered that when his edits aligned with the author's narrative, the system allowed them.

He realized the author intended Wange to be a catalyst for the main characters' romance, and with this understanding, his mental state stabilized, and a new gateway appeared before him. Observing Wanqing's low spirits, Chen Ye took her to a secret hideout. Wanqing was surprised he knew the place and reflected on her life, feeling that despite all her efforts, she had lost everything, including her mother.

Chen Ye gently reminded her of a childhood encounter where he had found a lost little girl and given her a bird whistle. Wanqing then recognized him as the "big brother" from her past. Chen Ye told her that now they were adults, they no longer needed to search for their parents, and he would accompany her wherever she wished to go.

Meanwhile, Wange grew furious because Feng Muchen had not returned home all night and was not answering his phone. She initially suspected him of misbehaving but then grew worried about his safety. She checked the home surveillance footage, which revealed Feng Muchen being abducted by two women. It turned out his prodigal uncle, Feng Fugui, was deeply in debt, and these women were forcing Feng Muchen to repay it.

Feng Muchen managed to make a video call to Wange, claiming he was with his uncle. However, Wange saw two beautiful women next to him and challenged his lie. Feng Fugui then took the phone, addressed Wange as "niece-in-law," and instructed her to bring five million yuan to Yuewan Karaoke, threatening her against contacting the police.

Yun Yi explained that Feng Fugui was Feng Muchen's reckless uncle, notorious for his vices, who had been extorting a million yuan monthly from Feng Muchen since he became chairman. Wange was aghast at Feng Muchen's vulnerability. Yun Yi theorized that Feng Muchen's current financial struggles might have led Feng Fugui to hire the women to kidnap him. Realizing Feng Muchen was unaware of his uncle's full scheme, Wange rushed to his rescue.

Wange arrived at Yuewan Karaoke, not with money, but with a pair of scissors. She loudly declared that the Feng family were freeloaders, provoking the two women into beating Feng Fugui in a fit of rage. Amidst the chaos, Wange seized the opportunity and pulled Feng Muchen away. As they fled, Wange, out of breath, demanded to know where he had been last night and if he was unwell from running.

Feng Muchen insisted he was fine and just needed rest. However, before he could say more, his headache flared up again, and he suddenly collapsed. Wange frantically urged Ning Yuan to call an ambulance, begging Feng Muchen not to scare her. Before she could even dial, an ambulance mysteriously appeared, leaving a bewildered Wange behind as it took Feng Muchen away.

Episode 17 Recap

Feng Muchen regained consciousness and found Ning Yuan by his side. He asked if his fainting was due to strenuous exercise, but Ning Yuan suggested it was the author's punishment for his prolonged confinement in the space of consciousness. Feng Muchen realized that his release was a result of his thoughts aligning with the author's expectations, meaning he still had the power to rewrite the plot.

Ning Yuan warned him about dire consequences if he remained trapped for too long and reminded him that he needed to rectify the current storyline. The author then provided a hint: "Go to the bar." Following this directive, Feng Muchen headed to the Hutong Bar, bringing wine with him, where he found Lu Wanqing drinking alone. The bartender noted that Lu Wanqing rarely visited and seemed to be in a bad mood.

Feng Muchen, feeling compelled by the plot, lamented his inability to marry her first, as she had become his sister-in-law. When Lu Wanqing declined his offer to drink, questioning the appropriateness of their relationship, Feng Muchen tried to kiss her, only to be met with a slap. Lu Wanqing then ordered him a drink called "Drama King." Still under the author's influence, Feng Muchen told Lu Wanqing that despite her remarkable qualities, her mother's moral failings made her situation tragic.

He claimed he alone could help her, though he privately admitted his helplessness and blamed the author for his predicament. Meanwhile, Wang Ge received a notification of a 20,000 RMB expenditure from Feng Muchen's bank card at the Hutong Bar. Enraged, she accused him of using the ambulance as an excuse to go drinking and threatened to confront him, but found herself unable to move, realizing the author was restricting her actions.

As Feng Muchen drove away with Lu Wanqing in a taxi, Wang Ge, in her own car, spotted them. Witnessing Lu Wanqing embracing Feng Muchen, Wang Ge accused them of cheating. She attempted to pursue them, but her driver, Yun Yi, cautioned her against the danger. Frustrated, Wang Ge declared she would no longer speak to Feng Muchen, while her driver sang a song about betrayal, commenting on her situation.

Feng Muchen took the inebriated Lu Wanqing home, where Wang Ge's father confronted him about his actions. Feng Muchen tried to explain that a mysterious force controlled him and that he had only brought Lu Wanqing home because she was drunk. However, the author's influence compelled him to declare his love for Lu Wanqing. Infuriated, Wang Ge slapped him. Her father, stating he couldn't understand young people, left them to resolve the matter.

Chen Ye then arrived and sincerely confessed his feelings to Lu Wanqing, urging her to stop drinking. Lu Wanqing reciprocated his affection, and the two happily embraced. Afterward, Feng Muchen sought Wang Ge's understanding, but she sarcastically agreed before presenting him with a new, stringent cohabitation contract.

The terms included avoiding solitary encounters with other women (even for card games or at bars), entrusting all his money to her, maintaining full transparency, and providing her with massages (suggesting he learn from a blind masseur, not from a salon woman). Feng Muchen signed the agreement. He then elaborated on his experience in the "space of consciousness," explaining that he could see the author's narrative and the unfolding events.

He argued that his actions at the bar were merely "enabling" moves orchestrated by the author to bring Lu Wanqing and Chen Ye together, asserting his innocence. Wang Ge, unconvinced, accused him of enjoying the situation and insisted he remain kneeling, claiming he and Lu Wanqing were a "perfect couple." Feng Muchen tried to reassure her of their bond and offered a massage.

Despite Wang Ge's doubts about his status as the male lead, he emphasized that her understanding was paramount. Later, Wang Ge discovered a new plot point on her phone: "The Great Marriage Proposal." She deduced that Chen Ye would propose to Lu Wanqing at the upcoming wedding dress exhibition, signaling the story's imminent conclusion. She proposed a date with Feng Muchen as compensation, to which he agreed, secretly plotting to act before the author could dictate the next chapter.

Feng Muchen and Wang Ge went to a jewelry store, where he helped her try on an "Eternity Necklace," a featured item. Secretly, he confirmed details for the upcoming bridal show. He hoped Wang Ge would forgive his undisclosed plans, as he intended to "take her back" soon, but he privately worried about her reaction. The next day, at the bridal show, Lu Wanqing apologized to Wang Ge for past incidents and hinted at the impending "grand finale."

She then asked Wang Ge for a favor, revealing that the "finale" wedding dress had been accidentally altered and no longer fit the original model. With Feng Muchen's apparent hesitation and Lu Wanqing's urging, Wang Ge, eager for a happy ending, agreed to wear the dress for the show. As Wang Ge gracefully walked the T-stage in the stunning gown, the music suddenly ceased.

Feng Muchen stepped onto the stage, disrupting what was planned as Chen Ye's proposal to Lu Wanqing. He declared his intention to propose to Wang Ge, explaining his desire to use lines from an old movie to help her regain her memories. Wang Ge suspected he was attempting to change the plot again, but Feng Muchen felt a momentary release from the author's control.

He continued his heartfelt proposal, enumerating specific qualities he cherished about her, from her feigned fragility to her brave spirit, her quick hair washes, and her position as the last person he wanted to speak to each night. He concluded with a poignant quote from the movie: "When you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you'll wish your rest of your life to start faster."

Hearing these words, Wang Ge was overwhelmed by a surge of fragmented memories of their shared past, triggering an excruciating headache. Torn between her desire to accept and her fear of being forever trapped in the novel, she hesitated. With gritted teeth, she apologized, rejected his proposal, and collapsed.

Episode 18 Recap

Wange woke up in a hospital bed, disoriented, and asked Feng Muchen why they were there. Feng Muchen, visibly distraught, apologized profusely, blaming his impatience for causing her to faint. He urged her to rest while he went to call the doctor, tenderly ensuring she was covered to prevent a chill. Once alone, Wange was appalled by her rough skin and lack of cosmetic enhancements, especially with a wedding to plan.

She imperiously ordered a nurse to buy her a black lace nightgown, along with a specific perfume called "Morning After." When presented with hospital food, she declared it inedible and demanded it be thrown away, reacting defensively when the nurse suggested she might be disoriented due to a concussion. As Feng Muchen returned, Wange instantly adopted a sweet, gentle demeanor. Complaining about the hospital food, she insisted they go out to eat.

She also rejected the modest clothes Feng Muchen offered, questioning Ning Yuan why her high-end attire wasn't brought. Wange then eagerly suggested they go shopping, as she hadn't in a while. Observing this new behavior, Ning Yuan worried Wange was acting strangely, but Yun Yi remarked that she now seemed more like a privileged young lady. At the mall, Wange casually tossed aside a necklace she found unsightly, claiming it gave her "neck wrinkles."

Feng Muchen picked it up and offered to buy her a new one. Ning Yuan, concerned, even suggested Wange might benefit from brain-boosting health supplements. Their shopping was interrupted by the arrival of Su Yinyin and Cheng Ji. Wange expressed surprise at Su Yinyin's presence, asking when she returned and acting as if she didn't recognize her, even questioning why Su Yinyin called her "Little Cousin-in-law."

Su Yinyin recounted Wange's recent rejection of Feng Muchen's proposal and her subsequent shopping spree, wondering if she had forgotten. Wange, however, denied ever rejecting Feng Muchen and affectionately embraced him, declaring she could never refuse him. Su Yinyin noted Wange's changed demeanor but couldn't quite place the difference, jokingly asking if she'd been "kicked in the head by a donkey." Later, Wange went to see her father, Lu Wenyuan, presenting him with a gift bought using his credit card.

He remarked on her changed appearance. When he asked about her relationship with Feng Muchen, Wange mentioned her amnesia regarding a "fake pregnancy" and Feng Muchen's proposal after she woke up. Realizing her memory loss, Lu Wenyuan inquired about a stock she owned and offered to manage it for her.

However, Wange, in a "love-struck" state, insisted on giving the stock to Feng Muchen, believing it would encourage him to propose to her a second time, a gesture Lu Wenyuan considered a family misfortune. Back home, Wange was perplexed by the abundance of pink, "rustic" clothes in her room.

Ning Yuan explained that Wange's entire style and personality had shifted dramatically since her last fainting spell, and surprisingly, Feng Muchen seemed to have adapted to this "new" Wange more readily than anyone else. Feeling a sense of disconnect, Wange asked Ning Yuan to recount her past and how she came to be with Feng Muchen, attributing her confusion to memory loss from her injury.

Meanwhile, the true Wange was trapped within the world of telencephalon (consciousness space), helplessly observing her counterpart, the "novel's Wange," mimic her appearance and actions. She felt profound frustration, accusing the impostor of stealing her life and her beloved Feng Muchen. Feng Muchen, too, began to harbor doubts. Recalling Wange's unusual act of discarding the necklace, his suspicions about her identity grew. That night, the novel's Wange approached him, feigning a nightmare and expressing fear of being alone.

She asked to sleep in his room, an offer the trapped original Wange vehemently protested. Feng Muchen, though seemingly comforting, subtly avoided her suggestion to share a bed, proposing they talk until she fell asleep, and he would then escort her back to her room. Wange agreed but playfully warned him not to "cross the line." Feng Muchen tried to reassure himself that she was still his "Xiao Ge."

However, the strong scent of "Morning After" perfume on her, which he knew the original Wange disliked, combined with her newfound habit of calling him "Feng Gege" (a term the original Wange never used), heightened his unease. Citing urgent work, he excused himself to pull an all-nighter, leaving the novel's Wange disappointed and determined to intensify her seductive efforts.

The novel's Wange continued her charming attempts, acting flirtatious and cute, even bringing him a drink and cooling him down on a hot day, questioning why he hadn't proposed. Feng Muchen, gazing at the engagement ring, wrestled with his decision. Simultaneously, the original Wange, still trapped, desperately called out to Feng Muchen, expressing deep regret for rejecting his previous proposal.

She confessed her hesitation and overthinking, admitting she now longed to marry him and return to his side, feeling terrified without him. As if hearing her plea, Feng Muchen halted his impending proposal to the novel's Wange. He explained that the current setting lacked proper ceremony and promised a grander, more surprising proposal later, then sent her home with Yun Yi. Alone, Feng Muchen cried out Wange's name to the vast sea.

He affirmed that he was not fooled, recognizing that the person acting as Wange was an impostor. He wondered aloud about the true Wange's whereabouts, whether she was in the consciousness space or some other unknown place. He invoked a shared saying, "Being by your side, and being by your side, is the most wonderful day," and then made a startling confession: he had come to this world solely to find her. He pleaded for her to return quickly.

The original Wange, hearing this, was left stunned, questioning who Feng Muchen truly was. Feng Muchen then apologized to the unseen Wange, admitting his selfishness and lack of consideration for her feelings, once again begging her to return.

Episode 19 Recap

Feng Muchen, visibly distressed, apologized profoundly to Ge, admitting his selfishness and neglect of her feelings. He desperately pleaded for her to return. His thoughts then drifted back years to his first encounter with Ge in a university library. Ge had felt a strange, inexplicable familiarity upon seeing him, and he, too, found himself drawn to her. He often observed her, even attending her classes. Initially, their love was a silent admiration.

During a book club event, Feng Muchen shared his personal definition of a "flipped moment," describing a girl in the audience whose unique habits—like talking to stray cats, her focused expression while working, and her clumsy yet careful manner while organizing books on a ladder—had captured his heart, though she was unaware of his secret admiration. Later, Feng Muchen actively invited her for milk tea at a local shop, which Ge agreed to attend after her shift.

Despite Feng Muchen being a popular figure on campus, adored by many, Ge harbored deep insecurities about their relationship. One morning, he stopped her rideshare, intent on taking her home to meet his parents before they flew abroad. He revealed that his parents had already secured her a leave of absence from work, which only angered Ge.

She argued that he shouldn't make decisions for her, regardless of his role as her boyfriend or even husband, as it significantly impacted her work. Feng Muchen tried to explain that his actions stemmed from love and a desire to spare her hardship, but Ge accused him of being selfish.

She challenged his certainty about love, suggesting it could change, and confessed her general lack of faith in anyone, including herself, not just him, though she affirmed her current love for him. She then insisted on taking her rideshare to work and advised him to go home before the impending rain. Still trapped in the simulated world, Feng Muchen found himself with the "fake" Ge in a library. Her loud, sugary voice disrupted the quiet, annoying other patrons.

Internally, Feng Muchen was frustrated, momentarily wondering if knocking her out would bring the real Ge back, but immediately dismissed the thought, unwilling to risk harming Ge's consciousness. When the fake Ge defaced a library book with lipstick, he chastised her, but she flippantly offered to buy it. Realizing she had no interest in reading, he took her to a mall.

There, she continued her demanding behavior, insisting he feed her and then, when he suggested she choose cosmetics, demanding he apply her makeup. Deliberately, Feng Muchen gave her exaggerated thick lips and offered to create "broken brows," much to his relief when she finally conceded to let him pay for the items. Outside the cosmetics store, Feng Muchen saw a display card with the phrase, "The moment that makes me flip."

He recognized the words as an exclusive memory shared only with the real Ge, leading him to wonder if she had regained consciousness and was trying to communicate. Overwhelmed by this realization, Feng Muchen collapsed. The simulated Ge reacted with confusion, but a nurse quickly intervened to perform CPR. Bizarrely, the fake Ge questioned why a female nurse was touching him and asked for a male doctor, prompting the exasperated nurse to push her aside.

Simultaneously, Feng Muchen, now fully aware within the simulation, cried out to the author for release. Feng Muchen awoke in a hospital bed in the real world, looking weary. The doctor noted his weakened state and asked if he had shared details of his relationship with Lu Wanqing's mother. He explained that Lu Wanqing, as the author, was highly receptive to external stimuli, incorporating overheard conversations and even TV drama plots into her story.

This sensitivity suggested she was nearing consciousness. Feng Muchen asked about Ge, and the doctor assured him he would be informed as soon as she awoke. Feng Muchen questioned why unprecedented elements were appearing in the telencephalon world if Ge hadn't regained her memory, to which the doctor clarified that monitors would indicate any memory restoration. The doctor then speculated that the real Ge might be in the same consciousness space Feng Muchen had previously entered.

Feng Muchen expressed his urgency to investigate, but the doctor advised him to rest. Soon after, a nurse called the doctor to Ge's room. Feng Muchen followed, finding Ge in critical condition with a dangerously low heart rate, possibly due to the telencephalon system rejecting her. Despite the doctor's grim prognosis, Feng Muchen desperately vowed to bring Ge back, pleading with the medical staff as they urged him to leave the room for emergency treatment.

Later, Feng Muchen spoke with Lu Wanqing's mother, who was worried about Ge. He reassured her that Lu Wanqing, as the author, was in a relatively safe position and would likely wake up soon. He also recalled the doctor's earlier explanation about Lu Wanqing's heightened sensitivity and her tendency to weave external influences into her ongoing narrative.

Feng Muchen gently suggested that Lu Wanqing's mother watch only dramas with unequivocally happy endings, even for supporting characters, as this might influence Lu Wanqing's creative output. Lu Wanqing's mother understood, realizing this explained why she couldn't predict the novel's later plot twists after her daughter's stored manuscript ran out, and why Lu Wanqing had recently experienced frowning and nightmares. She agreed to change her viewing habits.

Despite the doctor's firm warnings about his fragile physical condition and the grave risks of re-entering the telencephalon world, Feng Muchen brushed aside the concerns, attributing his weakness to hunger and requesting another supply package. He signed an exemption agreement, taking full responsibility. The doctor then delivered a somber warning: Ge's condition was deteriorating, and her awakening was uncertain.

Furthermore, if Lu Wanqing were to regain consciousness before Ge, they would be forced to replace Ge's telencephalon machine, which would erase everything, effectively causing their shared journey and memories to reset.

Episode 20 Recap

Feng Muchen resolved to re-enter the novel world. Doctors warned him that if Lu Wanqing, the author, were to awaken prematurely in reality, they would need to replace Lu Wanqing's telencephalon machine, and the entire narrative would reset, potentially impacting Ye Wange.

Despite the risks and the strict rules for re-entry – no mention of the real world, plot changes only before new chapter uploads, and adhering to the necklace's prompts to go offline – Feng Muchen decided to take the chance, with the doctor noting his extreme risk-taking. Feng Muchen found himself waking up on a beach within the novel world.

Overcome with emotion, he cried out to Ye Wange, vowing to save her and lamenting her disappearance just as he arrived, asking where she was. He confessed that losing her made him realize her immense importance and pleaded for her return. He declared that his heart had leaped the moment he first saw her in the crowd, unable to look away, and asked if she would trust in love, in him, and in their future once more.

From within the world of telencephalon, Ye Wange heard his heartfelt words and admitted she felt the same way, agreeing to trust him. Suddenly, the author's narrative interface brightened, and Ye Wange, radiant in a wedding gown, walked towards Feng Muchen. They embraced, thrilled to be reunited. In the real world, Lu Wenyuan instructed his subordinates to continue pressuring Feng's Group, ensuring they would not easily recover from their current crisis.

Later, Lu Wanqing brought her father, Lu Wenyuan, a cup of Pu'er tea. Lu Wenyuan acknowledged the strong performance of Meilian, the company she managed, and noted her resilience despite their mother's situation. He urged her not to solely focus on work and studies but to also embrace life. Lu Wanqing explained her drive came from wanting to live up to her father’s expectations, especially since her sister, Wange, had been so successful, partly due to Feng Muchen's support.

Later, Chen Ye arrived to pick up Lu Wanqing, bringing a gift of Pu'er tea for her father, Mr. Ye. Lu Wanqing explained that she was cultivating a relationship with Chen Ye to leverage his resources for expanding the market and delegating design rights, which pleased her father.

After reassuring Mr. Ye that he would take good care of Lu Wanqing, Chen Ye accompanied her to visit her mother, Shen Lingzhu, at a facility, waiting outside while Lu Wanqing spoke with her. Seeing Lu Wanqing distraught after the visit, Chen Ye decided to cheer her up by taking her to a secret base to relax.

Lu Wanqing thanked him for accommodating her schedule, but he dismissed her gratitude, admitting he also simply wanted to see her, as it was important to him. She confessed that while she understood his feelings, the recent overwhelming events, particularly her mother’s condition, left her no emotional capacity for romance. Chen Ye reassured her, promising to always be by her side and encouraging her not to carry her burdens alone.

As Lu Wanqing prepared to leave, Chen Ye impulsively embraced her, vowing not to let hesitation cost him another chance, and they shared a passionate kiss. Feng Muchen brought Ye Wange back to his home. Ye Wange expressed her fear that he might have been deceived by "that" Ye Wange, but Feng Muchen confidently replied that his heart instantly recognized her every time they met and it wouldn't deceive him.

Feeling immense joy in each other’s presence, he promised they would be inseparable, like Meihan and Runze. As they entered the house, it was dark, and they cautiously navigated through the silence until the lights suddenly illuminated, revealing a gathering of friends and family who shouted "Happy Birthday!"

Although it wasn't her actual birthday, Feng Muchen had organized a surprise celebration for her "day of rebirth," a gesture which Ye Wange internally wondered if it was a way for him to confirm her identity. Ning Yuan and Yun Yi happily observed that Ye Wange had returned to her lively, even sassy self, now seemingly closer to Feng Muchen. Su Yinyin and Chengji took charge of the kitchen, ready to prepare a homemade feast.

Chengji awkwardly tried to help Su Yinyin put on her apron and tie her hair, even jokingly bringing a fire extinguisher, leading her to playfully tease him about his clumsiness and lack of experience with girlfriends. He admitted he was willing to learn if she would teach him. Their affectionate banter prompted Feng Muchen to playfully tease the "couple," but Ye Wange intervened, suggesting he leave them be.

Ning Yuan expressed his delight at Ye Wange’s return to her spirited, sassy self, noting her strengthened bond with Feng Muchen. Ye Wange acknowledged Feng Muchen's kindness and expressed her deep trust in Ning Yuan, Su Yinyin, Yun Yi, Zou Chengji, Lu Wanqing, and Chen Ye, considering them all wonderful. Ning Yuan attributed their positive qualities to Ye Wange’s own goodness.

Ye Wange then asked Ning Yuan what he would most want to do if he no longer had to protect her. Ning Yuan replied that his purpose in this world was to exist for her, so he would do whatever she desired. Hearing this, Ye Wange gently advised him to prioritize his own happiness and well-being in the future, regardless of circumstances. As everyone gathered to eat cake, Ye Wange made three wishes.

First, she wished for an swift end to their current situation. Second, she hoped that once back in reality, she could be Feng Muchen’s superhero, and they would reunite, with him remaining her superhero. Finally, she wished for the lasting happiness and joy of all her friends, including Su Yinyin, Ning Yuan, and the others, after she eventually departed from the novel world.

Episode 21 Recap

Wan Ge embraced Feng Muchen, expressing her desire for him to stay, while vague figures continued to surface in her fragmented memories. Feng Muchen tenderly reassured her not to force herself to remember and promised to stay by her side, stating that being with her was paramount. Wan Ge, sensing a deeper meaning in his words, questioned if he had stayed in this world solely for her, implying he could have left earlier.

Feng Muchen, after a brief evasion, affirmed his compelling reasons for being there and his strong attachment. Later, Wan Ge received an urgent email from Mr. Jackson, revealing crucial clues regarding her mother, Ye Fengyan's, imprisonment, all hidden within a safe. With the safe's location now known, Wan Ge promptly rallied her companions to head to the rendezvous point.

They arrived at an unassuming shoe repair shop, a location her assistant pointed out, echoing Mr. Jackson's belief that "the most dangerous place is the safest place." An elderly man at the shop recognized Wan Ge, identifying himself as a distant relative on her mother's side who had once given her a pink lion toy. This sparked a faint memory for Wan Ge. The old man then presented a shabby safe, which Feng Muchen initially doubted.

However, Wan Ge's assistant revealed that the password was a stock trading account number, which Wan Ge promptly entered as 9986, leading her to realize that appearances could be deceiving. Meanwhile, news reached someone about the discovery of Ye Fengyan's belongings, with the contents seemingly related to them. Separately, Chen Ye escorted Wanqing home. Her father, Lu Wenyuan, encouraged them to spend quality time together, but once Wanqing left, he pulled Chen Ye aside.

Lu Wenyuan advised Chen Ye to prioritize his career over romance, despite Wanqing now holding significant shares and taking on more business responsibilities. Chen Ye readily agreed, echoing Lu Wenyuan's sentiment that women were merely "stepping stones" on the path to success, and that only career and wealth truly mattered.

Back with Wan Ge, she began to examine the items from the safe, which included her father's ledger from his time as a project manager at Ye's Group, two annuities, and a letter from her mother. Her assistant questioned Wan Ge about her mother's imprisonment. Wan Ge stated that Shen Lingzhu was likely just a pawn and that someone else, possibly Ye Shuyuan, was truly responsible for her mother's fate.

Believing Shen Lingzhu might hold vital information, Wan Ge decided to seek Wanqing's help, confident that she would assist them. Meanwhile, Lu Wenyuan summoned Wan Ge, subtly testing her by offering to entrust her with Ye's Group. Wan Ge, feigning ignorance, praised his contributions to the company and expressed her hesitation to manage it without him, insisting he was still vigorous.

Lu Wenyuan, however, reiterated his aging and her potential to feel constrained by his presence, reminding her of the foundation her grandfather and mother had built. Wan Ge, sensing his sensitivity, attributed it to his age and her recent marriage, promising to visit more often. Wan Ge and Feng Muchen arranged to meet Wanqing. Before they could discuss Shen Lingzhu, they received unsettling news: Shen Lingzhu was missing.

They suspected Ye Shuyuan was behind it, further connecting him to Wan Ge's mother's death, though they were frustrated by locked information they couldn't access. Wanqing arrived, and Wan Ge showed her the ledger. Wanqing quickly identified a supplier's price that seemed suspiciously high, suspecting it was Ye Shuyuan's tactic, though not directly corruption given Ye's Group wasn't listed at the time.

Wanqing was deeply moved to discover one of the annuities was for her, realizing Mrs. Ye had secretly provided for her. A letter from Mrs. Ye requested Wanqing to treat Wan Ge as a sister, acknowledging Wanqing as another victim. Wanqing affirmed that her mother's message was clear: her father, Lu Wenyuan, was responsible for her mother's plight, and had also orchestrated Shen Lingzhu's disappearance.

Wanqing shared that she had rushed to the psychiatric hospital after overhearing Chen Ye and her father's conversation, only to find it too late, with the staff caring for her mother having resigned. They collectively decided against immediately contacting the police, fearing it would provoke Ye Shuyuan to harm Shen Lingzhu. Instead, they opted for a strategic, long-term approach, anticipating Ye Shuyuan's next move to undermine Wanqing's position at Ye's Group.

They agreed to divide tasks: Wan Ge would scrutinize the accounts, and Wanqing would gather more clues. Feng Muchen, worried about Wan Ge's memory, realized that if she didn't regain it before they left this world, she might not recognize him later. With the "ending drawing near," he felt a desperate need to accelerate her memory recovery through strong sensory stimulation. He tried cooking Sichuan cuisine, knowing her fondness for it.

Despite his efforts and adding extra chili, Wan Ge found it not spicy, prompting her to jokingly call him "lame" and remark on his ease as a stay-at-home husband. When she expressed her anger, he playfully asked if she needed comforting, to which she retorted about his "being a kept man and taking it for granted." Later, Feng Muchen asked Wan Ge what she would think if he remained a stay-at-home husband permanently.

Wan Ge, while expressing her love and ability to support him, hoped he wouldn't be confined to domestic trivialities, explaining, "because love changes." She experienced a familiar feeling, as if she had uttered those exact words before. When Feng Muchen asked if she lacked confidence in him, Wan Ge clarified that her lack of confidence extended to everyone, including herself, a sentiment she also felt she had expressed previously.

Unfazed by the lack of success, Feng Muchen, with the help of Yun Yi and Ning Yuan, continued his attempts to restore Wan Ge's memories. They tried "Mental therapy" and "Hypnotherapy," but Wan Ge dismissed these efforts as "insane" and "useless," insisting on working on the accounts. Finally, Feng Muchen, aware of her fear of water, attempted "Spa" therapy. Despite his continuous questions about any returning memories, Wan Ge only responded playfully.

Emerging from the water, she angrily confronted Feng Muchen about his "crazy" methods, reiterating her need to work. Feng Muchen, resolute, stated he had to seize every second and outpace "that woman" in the race against time.

Episode 22 Recap

Feng Muchen attempted to use hypnotherapy to awaken Wange's memories, but she refused to cooperate, insisting on continuing her audit. Instead, the hypnotherapy worked on Yun Yi and Ning Yuan, but had no effect on Wange. Feng Muchen then suggested a spa visit, hoping it would help with her memory, but it only served to create a more intimate atmosphere between them.

Later, Feng Muchen invited Wange to a mall, explaining that Feng's was bankrupt and only this last mall remained. Wange, believing everything was virtual in this world, expressed unconditional trust in Feng Muchen. She told him that she had begun to trust him since he braved the rain to help her, and also for pretending to be Mr. Jackson to assist her.

Feng Muchen mentioned that he felt they had known each other for a long time, but couldn't reveal certain answers to her yet. Meanwhile, Yun Yi was saying his goodbyes to his belongings, telling Ning Yuan that Feng's bankruptcy meant he would soon need to find a new job. Yun Yi affectionately addressed his possessions, calling one a "soon-to-be standup guy" and others "more obedient" items, expressing his sadness at leaving them.

Ning Yuan, after receiving a large bonus, offered to buy Yun Yi's items. Feng Muchen then met with Lu Wenyuan for business. Wange sarcastically suggested that Feng Muchen should settle for being a stay-at-home husband, to which Lu Wenyuan immediately offered Feng's orders. Lu Wenyuan, having established his own new company, Lu's, invited Wanging and Feng Muchen to the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Feng Muchen noticed many former Ye's employees present.

Lu Wenyuan informed them that even if he hadn't taken these employees, Wange wouldn't have been able to manage them. During the ceremony, Feng Muchen deliberately provoked Wange, showing her documents regarding Ye's employees leaving. Wange then realized that these senior executives had "voluntarily" left, which made her understand Lu Wenyuan's true motive for generously appointing her as chairman. Wange angrily accused Feng Muchen of being a traitor and a "gigolo" since Feng's was bankrupt.

Feng Muchen retorted that their marriage could end at any time. Enraged, Wange proposed a divorce. Wanging then stepped in, mocking Feng Muchen and suggesting he should have married her instead. As Wanging feigned defending Feng Muchen, Feng Muchen, in turn, angrily exposed Wange's past deceit, including drugging him, tricking him into bed, and faking pregnancy.

As Feng Muchen and Wanging left, holding hands, Su Yinyin publicly ridiculed them as "scumbags," but they ignored her and continued their public display of affection. Afterward, Wange confessed to Su Yinyin that the public argument was an act staged for Lu Wenyuan's men, who were observing them. Su Yinyin agreed that it was a convincing performance, despite its harshness. Wange and Su Yinyin then discussed Wanging and Chen Ye, with Wange wanting to reunite them.

Su Yinyin was hesitant, fearing Chen Ye was truly allied with Lu Wenyuan, which would harm Wanging. Wange, however, believed Chen Ye might have ulterior motives or even be an undercover agent. They devised a plan to bring Wanging and Chen Ye together at a large business conference at Ye's the following day, using the work environment as an excuse for them to communicate.

Separately, Chen Ye spoke with Lu Wenyuan, expressing concern about Shen Lingzhu's whereabouts and stating that Wanging was innocent and should not be harmed. Lu Wenyuan dismissed Chen Ye's concerns, telling him not to meddle and to focus on his orders. Later that evening, Feng Muchen appeared at Lu Wenyuan's residence, explaining that Wange had kicked him out after a heated argument, making it difficult for him to live under the same roof with her.

Lu Wenyuan reassured Feng Muchen, stating that once Feng's production line was integrated into his new company, the power dynamics would shift, and Feng Muchen's "family position" would improve. The next day, Wange presided over the successful business conference at Ye's, announcing a lavish lunch for attendees at a luxurious local hotel. Following the meeting, Chen Ye approached Wanging, explaining that his earlier cold actions were to mislead her father.

He apologized for keeping her mother's situation from her, revealing that Lu Wenyuan had arranged for Shen Lingzhu to be transferred after a miscarriage. Chen Ye had believed it was a test from Lu Wenyuan and feared telling Wanging. Wanging was distraught, realizing Chen Ye knew about her mother's miscarriage and hadn't informed her. As Feng Muchen was about to leave Lu Wenyuan's office, Wange arrived, ostensibly to congratulate her father. Auditor Liu was also present.

Wange subtly introduced Auditor Liu as the Company of Party A for the contract, implying a new arrangement that seemed to be a setup against Feng Muchen. Feng Muchen then accused them of conspiring against him.

Episode 23 Recap

Feng Muchen and Wange met in private. As they passed a campus road, they saw a couple embracing on a bicycle, which stirred vague memories for Feng Muchen. Not wanting to force her to recall, he intended to take her home. However, Wange, fully committed to their act, told him not to return that night. Meanwhile, Lu Wenyuan instructed his subordinates to keep a close watch on Feng Muchen, suspecting that his public quarrel with Wange was merely a charade.

Shortly after, Wange arrived with Feng Muchen at Lu Wenyuan's premises. Feng Muchen requested Lu Wenyuan to take him in, complaining that Wange had grown increasingly domineering since becoming chairman, and his standing in the family had severely diminished. Following Wange's arrangements, Wanqing met with Chen Ye. Wanqing, believing Chen Ye was not the type to climb using women, was upset that he hadn't communicated with her about certain matters beforehand.

Chen Ye explained that Shen Lingzhu had been transferred by Lu Wenyuan to a women's hospital, likely for an abortion, and had since been moved again, leaving him without further clues about her whereabouts. Feng Muchen and Wange later brought an auditor, Mr. Liu, to Lu Wenyuan's home to inspect his company's accounts. Mr. Liu quickly confirmed the main company listed in the contract.

Wange, instructing him to look further, highlighted that every project Lu Wenyuan had overseen since the company went public included an "unforeseen fee" that was consistently paid to the same individual. She urged Mr. Liu to investigate this person's financial transactions with the company. Mr. Liu affirmed that the abnormal figures in the accounts met the criteria for an official investigation and requested Lu Wenyuan's cooperation.

Lu Wenyuan, realizing Feng Muchen's apparent defection was a ruse to uncover his hidden company, angrily accused them of setting him up and called them ungrateful. Wange simply thanked him for his "blessing." Despite his defiant words, Lu Wenyuan was taken away for further investigation. Afterward, Wange acknowledged that while gathering all the evidence would take time, the process was nearing its end. She expressed regret that they still lacked sufficient proof for her mother's case.

Feng Muchen reassured her that Lu Wenyuan would certainly face legal punishment and asked what else she wished to achieve in this world. Wange turned the question back to him, and he affectionately replied that he only desired to stay by her side. Separately, Su Yinyin confided in Chengji about her controlling father and asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend to avoid a blind date.

Chengji initially hesitated, suggesting it might be better to honestly become her boyfriend rather than deceive her father, but Su Yinyin insisted he stick to the act. When her father, Mr. Su, arrived, he immediately confronted Su Yinyin about some "punks" he saw outside, accusing her of wanting to "be a punk" herself. Su Yinyin defiantly declared that she would never compromise and would live her life on her own terms.

Mr. Su attempted to push a suitable suitor on her, but Chengji intervened, introducing himself as Zou Chengji. He earnestly defended Su Yinyin, describing her as the kindest and most special girl he knew, explaining that she rode motorcycles to conquer her timidity, not for thrills. He further revealed that the "punks" her father saw were actually orphans whom Su Yinyin supported with her own living expenses.

Chengji implored Mr. Su to understand his daughter better, assuring him he would be proud of her. Impressed by Chengji's sincerity and his clear affection for Su Yinyin, Mr. Su, after a brief warning not to take her lightly, agreed to let Chengji be responsible for her safety and told him to remind her to ride her motorcycle more carefully.

Chengji gratefully accepted, and Mr. Su mused that his daughter had truly matured and that Chengji was a decent young man. Later, Wange received a phone call from Ning Yuan, informing her that Lu Wenyuan was attempting to flee by buying a plane ticket, but his flight was delayed. Realizing they had a window of opportunity, Wange quickly formulated a plan and summoned Feng Muchen, along with Su Yinyin and Chengji, for assistance.

As they drove, Lu Wenyuan's car was intercepted and surrounded by Feng Muchen's vehicles. Inside a warehouse, a frustrated Lu Wenyuan criticized his incompetent henchmen, ordering them to create a diversion and retrieve a car. He then tried to escape on foot. Su Yinyin confronted him, questioning his flight before the investigation was complete. He, in turn, asked why she was pursuing him, to which she claimed she was trying to protect him.

Their argument escalated, with Lu Wenyuan accusing her of hypocrisy and wanting him dead, while she insisted she was there to help him. During the chase, Su Yinyin stumbled, but Chengji quickly checked on her before they continued the pursuit. Chengji bravely defended Su Yinyin against Lu Wenyuan's thugs, urging her to be cautious. Eventually, Wange and the others successfully cornered Lu Wenyuan.

After his apprehension, Wange and her group brought Lu Wenyuan to a secluded villa, where they offered him a lavish meal. Once he had eaten his fill, Lu Wenyuan attempted to slip away, but Wange and Feng Muchen stopped him, insisting he remain until the audit was concluded. When he requested butter, Ning Yuan unsuspectingly handed it to him. Wange, unworried, joked to Ning Yuan that her own father wouldn't harm her.

However, Lu Wenyuan seized the butter knife and held Wange hostage, demanding a car and no police involvement. Feng Muchen intervened, offering himself as a replacement hostage, arguing that Wange, being Lu Wenyuan's daughter, would be a less effective bargaining chip against the police than he would be. As Lu Wenyuan agreed to the exchange, Chen Ye suddenly arrived with Shen Lingzhu. Seizing the moment of distraction, Feng Muchen disarmed and subdued Lu Wenyuan.

Shen Lingzhu confronted Lu Wenyuan, declaring her intent to expose all his wrongdoings to the police, even if it implicated her. She stated that she could only find peace once he was imprisoned. Lu Wenyuan was then taken to the police station. After the ordeal, Chen Ye apologized to Wanqing for his delayed arrival, but she assured him she was simply relieved he was safe.

She then expressed her desire to immediately go to the police station to check on her mother, Shen Lingzhu, but Chen Ye advised patience, explaining that Shen Lingzhu was currently under investigation and he would devise a solution. Wanqing then thanked Chen Ye for helping her find Shen Lingzhu, admitting that her past insecurities had prevented her from being honest with herself and him.

Chen Ye, in turn, reassured her that despite their "gloomy past," he believed their "future must be bright," emphasizing that she was worth his persistence. Witnessing Chen Ye and Wanqing's romantic reunion, Wange commented on how fitting it was for a leading couple, complete with background music, and remarked on the romantic "happy ending."

Feng Muchen then suggested they, too, should embrace their own "happy ending" as their journey in this fictional world was concluding and they were on the verge of returning to reality. Wange voiced her concern about possibly forgetting him once they were back in the real world, but Feng Muchen confidently dismissed her worries, promising that he would be the last person she saw before she slept and the first when she woke.

With the real world approaching, Wange declared that this time she would "take the initiative" and, telling Feng Muchen not to move, she leaned in and kissed him. They then returned to the real world. Wange suddenly awoke in a hospital bed, disoriented and wondering where she was. Dr. Zhang, her physician, instructed her not to move and explained that she had been in a severe car accident, resulting in a coma and a persistent vegetative state (PVS).

He detailed how they had used a "telencephalon machine" for her treatment, during which he had written a novel, immersing her consciousness into its narrative, leading to her recovery. Wange pieced together the incredible story: a car crash, a coma, PVS, experimental treatment, entering a novel, and now, miraculously, recovery. She lauded Dr. Zhang's "brilliant" medical skills. However, Dr. Zhang then revealed that her brain's "puzzle" was only "50% complete."

When Wange questioned him about the "other half," Dr. Zhang was surprised she remembered and said he would "go check him out," leaving her alone in the room. Left to ponder, Wange quickly grew suspicious, doubting his fantastical explanation and wondering if she was the victim of a "medical fraud organization." Seeing a framed picture of herself on the nightstand, she decided to "get out of here" immediately. Moments later, Dr. Zhang returned with an assistant, only to find Wange gone. Panicked, he realized Feng Muchen was still unconscious and immediately ordered the assistant to find Wange.

Episode 24 (Ending) Recap

Ye Wange woke up in a Modern Hospital, where a male doctor explained she had been in a car accident and underwent telencephalon therapy, which involved entering a novel. Now, she was back in the real world. After the doctor left, Ye Wange suspected it was a fraudulent institution and called the police in a panic, urging them to hurry before she was taken away. She then sought an opportunity to escape.

As Ye Wange stumbled out, the celebrity Chen Ye spotted her looking weak and came to her aid. Immediately, paparazzi swarmed them, taking photos and attempting to extort money from Chen Ye for pictures of his "girlfriend." Chen Ye repeatedly asserted that Ye Wange was his cousin, leading the paparazzi to lose interest, calling it "boring." Ye Wange playfully accused him of using her as a shield again, and he retorted that he just happened to see her looking ill.

He then offered to take her to eat. Chen Ye took Ye Wange to an internet-famous restaurant, which he revealed was owned by his wife, Wanqing.

Ye Wange was surprised he was already married, having initially thought he was secretly dating, and recounted her strange experience: waking up in a patient uniform on a white bed with colorful patches on her head, hearing a male doctor say perplexing things, pulling out the needle, and escaping, which led her to believe the hospital was a "swindler institution" and to call the police.

Chen Ye then shared that his wife, Wanqing, had also been in a car accident recently and underwent the same "telencephalon therapy system," describing identical details of waking up with colorful patches. He showed Ye Wange Wanqing's new book, "The Low-profile Miss Ye," which he was planning to adapt into a movie. Reading the book, Ye Wange was struck by the names "Lu Wanqing" and "Feng Muchen."

The plot described how the second daughter of the Ye family, Lu Wanqing, had her engagement broken by her sister, Ye Wange, who then surprisingly became understanding and even helped matchmake Lu Wanqing with Feng Muchen. Ye Wange found the plot unsettlingly familiar, stating she felt she had "experienced these things."

She recalled specific lines and scenes from the novel that mirrored her own "memories," including Feng Muchen's declaration of sacrificing for his family, a cohabitation agreement, his reassuring presence, and his desire to be her superhero. Chen Ye encouraged her to reconsider the hospital, suggesting it might not be a "swindler institution" after all.

As Ye Wange walked, continuing to read the novel, more vivid memories resurfaced, including Feng Muchen teaching her self-reliance, revealing he was also from the real world, and his heartfelt proposal to be her "superhero" and "the bridge under her feet, waiting for her return." She recalled rejecting his proposal in the story, questioning why she did so despite her love for him.

Suddenly, Feng Muchen's name resonated deeply, and she frantically tried to call him, only to find his phone off. Overcome with emotion, she rushed back to the hospital, apologizing to the doctor for her earlier alarm, explaining it was simply a girl's caution. The doctor revealed that Feng Muchen was indeed safe but had risked his life by willingly entering the world of telencephalon to protect her, even fainting multiple times within the system.

Ye Wange was touched by his sacrifice and regretful that he hadn't told her. She then remembered a serious female doctor saving Feng Muchen in the novel, jokingly deducing that the real-world doctor must have influenced the novel's depiction. The doctor then explained that Feng Muchen was now trapped in "another book" because the original "happiness switch" necklace, which was meant to bring him out, had been lost.

Ye Wange understood that she was the only one who could save him. Armed with a new, improved "happiness switch" necklace, Ye Wange plunged into the second book. She found Feng Muchen in a precarious situation, being urged by another woman to abandon his emotions and stay with her. He adamantly refused, declaring he was waiting for someone and that no one could replace the person he loved.

As a "Prince Charming," he would not betray his beloved by kissing the woman forcing him. Ye Wange then appeared, telling him, "This time, let me save you." She used the necklace to successfully retrieve him. Back in reality, Feng Muchen initially seemed to have no memory of her, and even returned the necklace, attempting to leave.

Ye Wange, however, fiercely reminded him of their bond, imploring him to remember his promise to wait for her and that she would eventually remember him, emphatically stating, "You are mine." With both of them successfully returned to reality, the doctor proudly announced that Ye Wange and Feng Muchen were the first couple to achieve complete physical and mental recovery through the telencephalon system. Both of them had fully regained their past memories.

Su Yinyin and Zou Chengji, who were real-world friends of Wanqing, had opened a seafood barbecue restaurant. Ye Wange and Feng Muchen visited the restaurant for a meal. Wanqing, who was personally grilling, joked that she was doing so for her VIP guests. She then introduced her two pet dogs, Ning Yuan and Yun Yi, revealing that these were the "characters" of the same names that she whimsically included in her novel.

Ye Wange was surprised and amused, realizing that the 'characters' who had accompanied her and Feng Muchen in the novel were actually Wanqing's pets in reality. As they celebrated and toasted together, Ye Wange felt immense happiness, realizing that both the person she loved most and the person who loved her most were right by her side. As Ye Wange and Feng Muchen engaged in playful banter, he asked her to close her eyes for a surprise.

In that moment, he was "kidnapped" by masked figures. Ye Wange panicked and, along with Su Yinyin and Zou Chengji, ran after the kidnappers. After a frantic chase, they split up, and Ye Wange eventually found Feng Muchen by the sea. She rushed to his side, checking if he was hurt, only to discover the entire "kidnapping" was an elaborate prank orchestrated by Feng Muchen and their friends as a marriage proposal.

Feng Muchen then made a sincere declaration, acknowledging Ye Wange's sensitivity and insecurity. He promised to be a mature and reliable partner, one who would love her without suffocating her, miss her without tying her down, and support her dreams, ensuring her security and freedom. He expressed his desire to grow with her and be her inseparable "other half" forever.

With their friends emerging from hiding to witness the moment, Feng Muchen knelt, presenting Ye Wange with a ring and other symbolic gifts, asking her to marry him. Deeply moved by his sincerity and grand gesture, Ye Wange affectionately accepted, calling him "Mr. Ye" and herself "Mrs. Feng." Their friends erupted in applause as the couple embraced, reaffirming their profound love and commitment to a shared future.
