Ning Fei, listening to her, sadly remarked that at least she had experienced that feeling, while he never had. Feifei then noticed Ning Fei secretly drawing Zhou Shi. She confronted him, threatening to reveal his secret to his benefactor unless he bought her an expensive bag.
When Ning Fei admitted he had no money, Feifei challenged him to find a way to make her happy without spending a dime. Ning Fei left briefly and returned with a large bubble wand, which he used to create a giant bubble that enveloped Feifei. She reacted with childlike wonder, and they spent the day joyfully playing with bubbles on the grass. When some dirt got into Feifei’s eye, Ning Fei tenderly held her face to blow it out.
In that moment, Feifei felt a subtle, newfound happiness, realizing joy could be found without material things. Meanwhile, Wei Qing continued to engage with Zhou Shi after their tricycle escape. He had brought her to a flower market, where he proceeded to give away all the flowers from his tricycle. He further accused her of choosing the expensive Fine Arts Faculty at Guanghua Vision University solely for Li Ming Cheng, deeming her first love a self-destructive endeavor that burdened her family. She explained that she had successfully cracked the password to his bank card, which he had asked her to do, and discovered a massive sum of money. She elaborated that Ning Fei's father, a renowned artist, had lived in destitution, and his works only gained recognition and value decades after his death. Wei Qing, though reluctant and admitting he didn't know how to apologize, chased after Zhou Shi. He found her walking, exasperated by the lack of public transport. He caught up to her and, after some hesitation, formally apologized. Zhou Shi, surprised by his rare act of humility, agreed to get into his car.
She asked him to arrange for the immediate retrieval of the parcels he had sent, but Wei Qing insisted she open them first, promising to take them back if she didn’t like the contents. Upon returning home, Zhou Shi eagerly opened the packages to find they were entirely filled with various food items. Overjoyed, she called Wei Qing to thank him profusely, promising to repay him as soon as she received her salary.
Wei Qing observed that she was more receptive to kindness than force, concluding that apologizing might be a strategy he should use more often. Later that evening, Bi Qiu Jing asked Ning Fei if he felt cold sleeping in the living room, given the dropping temperatures. Lin Feifei immediately jumped in, offering her own room, stressing its warmth and spaciousness.
After Ning Fei moved to her room, Feifei secretly mused that while Ning Fei seemed a bit silly, his immense wealth made him a desirable target, and she resolved to win him over. The next morning, Zhou Shi was frantic, fearing she would be late for her class. Wei Qing, casually dressed, arrived on a bicycle, offering to take her via a shortcut.
Impatient with his slow cycling, Zhou Shi quickly took the lead, speeding off on the bicycle with him as her passenger. Wei Qing explained that he had cycled to match her lifestyle and avoid accusations of flaunting his wealth. At the university, Li Ming Cheng found Bi Qiu Jing and expressed his admiration for her ability to solve a well-known Go endgame from the campus forum in record time.
He eagerly invited her to join the Go club, believing her talent could secure Guanghua the inter-school championship. However, Bi Qiu Jing stated that she played Go merely for entertainment and had no interest in competitive rankings or "boring clubs." Li Ming Cheng challenged her to a game, asserting that only winners had the right to dismiss the importance of ranking. Bi Qiu Jing accepted, on the condition that he would not disclose the game's outcome to Zhou Shi.
Finally, Zhou Shi arrived at school, still flustered and worried about being late. Wei Qing then revealed to her that her phone was actually running an hour fast due to its damage. He lent her his own watch, telling her to use it temporarily and return it the "next time" they met, subtly hinting at their continued encounters.
