Soon after, Assistant An was called into Wei Qing's office. Inside, Wei Qing directly confronted Li Ming Cheng, accusing him of betraying the company. However, Li Ming Cheng calmly reported that the investigation confirmed Wei Qing's suspicions: the issues were connected to Director He.
Li Ming Cheng revealed that Director He had secretly sought buyers for Yun Ma's art division shortly after returning to China months ago, and was later introduced to Xue Zi through He Wei. Furthermore, over the years, He Wei had continually instigated Director He to make numerous unnecessary investments, all recorded under He Wei's name, effectively keeping financial gains within his grasp.
Wei Qing acknowledged that someone had accused Li Ming Cheng of stealing company information right after he was assigned the investigation, confirming that He Wei had indeed planted numerous spies around him. Wei Qing expressed his dilemma, explaining that exposing this internal scheme would not only bring shame and financial loss to Yun Ma but also make him a laughing stock.
When asked what he would do in such a situation, Li Ming Cheng, drawing from the game of Go, advised that sometimes, to achieve overall victory, one must sacrifice pawns, especially those without powerful backgrounds. After Li Ming Cheng left Wei Qing's office, Zhou Shi, seeing his subdued demeanor, mistakenly believed he had been fired. She impulsively rushed into Wei Qing’s office, offering to do anything short of murder or arson if he would spare Li Ming Cheng.
She emphasized that Li Ming Cheng was like a brother to her and she would not let him be harmed. Zhou Shi even tried to leverage Wei Qing’s treatment, suggesting that her unhappiness over Li Ming Cheng’s fate would negatively impact her ability to assist his recovery. Wei Qing, amused by her persistent pleas, agreed to resolve Li Ming Cheng’s matter in the fairest way, though he secretly intended to let Zhou Shi worry for a few more days.
Afterwards, Wei Qing instructed Assistant An to quickly prepare the upstairs studio, as he planned to move in soon. That evening, Zhou Shi and Lin Feifei noticed numerous trucks arriving at their residence. Assistant An confirmed that it was Wei Qing who was moving into the apartment above them. Zhou Shi spent the night restless, agonizing over whether to call or text Li Ming Cheng.
Lin Feifei and Bi Qiu Jing advised her to let Li Ming Cheng have his space, pointing out that her interference could feel like "sprinkling salt on his wound." Lin Feifei then expressed her bewilderment as to why Wei Qing would move from his spacious villa with a swimming pool.

When she learned he was perfectly fine, she stormed into Wei Qing’s office. Wei Qing calmly explained that he had not only not fired Li Ming Cheng but had actually given him a promotion. He rebuked Zhou Shi for her ungratefulness and for shouting at him.
To "atone" for her behavior, Wei Qing granted her a day off to supervise the cleaning and preparation of his new studio, explaining that his move was primarily to be closer to Zhou Shi for more convenient treatment. Meanwhile, He Wei received news that the mole he had planted in Wei Qing's inner circle had been fired by Yun Ma Group and expressed his dissatisfaction with the mole's failure.
Later that day, He Wei tried to invite Lin Feifei to dinner. Lin Feifei, noticing another dinner invitation pop up on his phone, pointedly remarked that she was only free that day. He Wei retaliated by invoking his sister, Wei Qing’s mother, claiming that she and Wei Qing's father had co-founded Yun Ma and questioned why the Wei family now owned everything. Wei Qing retorted that Yun Ma was on the brink of collapse when he took over, and it was he who single-handedly expanded the group to its current scale.
He sternly warned He Wei that he would systematically remove every spy He Wei had planted around him, urging him to cease his petty schemes. In the newly refurbished upstairs studio, Lin Feifei admired the grand new space. Zhou Shi, who was there to supervise the cleaning, advised her friend to stop fixating on marrying into a wealthy family and instead seek a genuinely good man.
She playfully suggested Ning Fei, recounting how he had angrily left the house when he learned He Wei didn't attend Lin Feifei's reunion, implying he was jealous. As they discussed Ning Fei, who had been gone for two days on a sketching trip, he suddenly burst into the studio, tracking mud across the recently cleaned floor. Zhou Shi, exasperated, immediately shooed him outside. Ning Fei later presented Zhou Shi and Lin Feifei with paintings he had made for them.

After Ning Fei left, Lin Feifei felt a pang of sadness, lamenting that even a "good man" like Ning Fei was not destined to be hers. The following morning, He Wei waited outside for Lin Feifei, attempting to present her with a new car.
Just then, Ning Fei emerged, slung an arm around Lin Feifei, and declared himself her boyfriend. Lin Feifei quickly clarified that Ning Fei was just her roommate and proceeded to get into He Wei’s car. Ning Fei, enraged, grabbed He Wei, warning him not to hurt Lin Feifei. He Wei defiantly retorted that in a relationship, it takes two to tango, implying Ning Fei had no right to interfere.
Later, Li Ming Cheng chatted with Zhou Shi, promising her a special birthday gift and encouraging her to learn from Wei Qing. Zhou Shi, however, launched into a lengthy complaint about Wei Qing constantly teasing her and acting like an overbearing CEO. Unbeknownst to her, Wei Qing and Assistant An were passing by and overheard her entire tirade, barely stifling their laughter.
Wei Qing, maintaining a poker face, sarcastically told Zhou Shi that she was free to leave if she felt "wronged," prompting a flustered Zhou Shi to quickly apologize. That evening, Ning Fei invited his roommates to a karaoke session. Partway through the night, Lin Feifei pulled Bi Qiu Jing away to the restroom. In the main area, Ning Fei finally confessed to Zhou Shi that he was indeed Xun Ran.
Zhou Shi, elated, embraced him warmly and promised to keep his identity a secret. Meanwhile, in the restroom, Lin Feifei found herself in a heated verbal altercation with a girl who turned out to be Gao Yang's girlfriend. They and Gao Yang began to gang up on her. Seeing the commotion, Ning Fei intervened, wrapped an arm around Lin Feifei and again declared himself her boyfriend.
He then held her face and kissed her passionately, much to Gao Yang's furious shock. Lin Feifei enthusiastically returned Ning Fei's kiss. After hearing Gao Yang make crude remarks, Ning Fei kicked him and swiftly pulled Lin Feifei away, making their escape.
