Though he claimed to still be a little dizzy, she urged him to stop pretending and come down to eat, also mentioning they needed to restock the refrigerator this weekend. Their meal was interrupted by the doorbell. As Xie Fei entered, Xia Xiaoning quickly hid in the bathroom to avoid him.
Xie Fei, looking exhausted, complained to Gu Chenyu that their "revolutionary friendship" seemed to have vanished now that Xia Xiaoning was in the picture. Mistaking the breakfast on the table for his own, he confided in Gu Chenyu about his struggles, implying his distress over Jin Yao's disappearance, which had left him unable to eat or sleep. Gu Chenyu dismissed his plight as "cheap."
After hastily trying to send Xie Fei away, Gu Chenyu had to prevent him from entering the bathroom, claiming it was under repair.
