Luo Li initially had doubts, thinking the exposure of Xiaoning’s scandal with Mr. Xie might benefit her, but Yanran clarifies that Xiaoning will find it difficult to maintain her standing in the company.
Yanran states it’s a fact that Xiaoning relied on connections to get ahead, and she intends to solidify this perception to expose Xiaoning’s true colors, ensuring she can no longer stay at the company. She also reveals that she’s using Xie Fei as a pawn to avoid involving Gu Chenyu too much. Jin Yao, who has just entered, overhears this entire conversation.
Incensed by Yanran’s malicious plans against Xiaoning and Xie Fei, Jin Yao decides to retaliate by adding multiple spoonfuls of salt to Yanran's coffee. During a company meeting, Hao Yanran dismissively comments that Xia Xiaoning doesn't seem to be focusing on dubbing. Xie Fei enters, apologizing for his delay, and informs them that Xiaoning has taken the day off. Hao Yanran immediately criticizes Xiaoning for taking leave at such a critical moment, implying she's hiding and expecting the company to take the fall for her. Xie Fei defends Xiaoning, explaining that gossip reporters are pervasive, and it's better for Xiaoning to stay away from the company for now.
He emphasizes the need for public relations to turn the negative situation into a positive one, stating that blaming one person for a company-wide issue is overly targeting Xiaoning. He reiterates his plan to transform the negative publicity into something positive, having a general idea of how to achieve this. Later, Gu Xiyuan visits Hao Yanran, who recounts her embarrassment at the office due to a prank. She identifies the perpetrator as his brother’s (Gu Chenyu's) new assistant, who is also competing for the female second lead role in "Lethe," a project his brother intends to promote.
Yanran also complains that Xiaoning’s scandal with Xie Fei has created a very bad impact, causing her a headache. Gu Xiyuan expresses surprise about the scandal and mentions he just stopped by to see her and wanted to take her out for dinner after work. Jin Yao contacts Xia Xiaoning, asking for Xie Fei's address so she can make him an "affectionate bento," explaining that Xie Fei is very busy since Gu Chenyu is not around.
Xiaoning agrees to ask him. As Jin Yao prepares the bento at home, she accidentally burns her hand but diligently packs a variety of dishes. He further slanders her, claiming she only secured roles in the past two years by relying on men, and that she was recently dumped and thrown out of her home, resorting to drinking alone. Tang Xue vehemently denies his accusations, stating her relationships were normal. The paparazzi then pushes Tang Xue to the ground.
Seeing this, Xiaoning grabs a stick and fiercely strikes the paparazzi, yelling at him for hitting a woman and spreading malicious lies. Xiaoning genuinely praises Tang Xue's "sense of drama, control, and timbre changes," even suggesting she could become a voice guidance or voice teacher, emphasizing that her current condition is no reason to abandon her career. She then playfully checks her face, asking if she’s "disfigured," to which Xiaoning jokingly confirms she looks "uglier." After receiving a stern lecture from the police officer regarding their involvement in the street fight, during which the paparazzi also complains he was hit, the parties agree to mediation, and the paparazzi is made to delete all photos from his camera in front of Tang Xue.

Jin Yao, heartbroken by his harsh words and the scattered food, leaves. Meanwhile, Gu Chenyu treats Xiaoning’s injuries. He expresses his anger that she got into a fight, but Xiaoning then reveals that she saw his mother unexpectedly a few days prior. Gu Chenyu acknowledges this, and Xiaoning expresses her embarrassment and fear that his mother might not like her. Gu Chenyu gently reassures her, saying, "I like you enough." In the solitude of her home, Jin Yao cries as she applies medicine to her burnt finger.
