Cui Xuelan persisted, using the adage "know yourself and your enemy" and even offered to discreetly gather information on Wen Xin's designs. Wen Rou adamantly refused any unethical assistance, affirming her confidence in winning purely on the merit of her own design. Undeterred by Wen Rou's refusal, Cui Xuelan later brought dessert and cubilose to Wen Xin's workplace, using the visit as an opportunity to secretly observe Wen Xin's design drafts.
When Wen Rou received a phone call from her mother describing Wen Xin's work, she firmly warned her not to interfere. She voiced her hope that with Shan Liang's support, Wen Rou would not face similar hardships, urging him to help Wen Rou win the design competition against Wen Xin, especially given Wen Yajun's connections with Liu Meng's stylist. With Qixi Festival approaching, Shan Liang considered various gift options for Wen Rou. Dismissing conventional choices, he developed a unique idea.
He took Wen Rou to a secluded location and revealed his gift: a star, designated T890, which he had named "Wen Rou," likening its brilliant sparkle to her own radiant spirit. Wen Rou was deeply moved, calling it her most precious gift, and reciprocated with a heartfelt kiss, playfully implying her own gift was "under the mat." In his professional capacity, Shan Liang tasked his assistant, Jian Jian, with finding a suitable tech company to develop a new algorithm.
Jian Jian recommended Yishu Technology, highlighting its exceptional algorithm engineers. However, he also revealed that the company had recently been acquired by Huixin Investment, owned by Su Ziguang, raising concerns about potential cooperation issues due to their strained past. Shan Liang, determined to proceed, instructed Jian Jian to gather comprehensive information on Yishu Technology, its partners, competitors, and Huixin's investment details, aiming to find leverage that would compel Su Ziguang to agree.
Shan Liang later met Su Ziguang, who was also a sponsor for the Liu Meng event. Su Ziguang initially assumed Shan Liang was there to discuss sponsorship for the Liu Meng event. Shan Liang corrected him, stating his true intention was to acquire Yishu Technology. He then demonstrated his thorough research, revealing that Su Ziguang had rescued Yishu Technology during a crisis but had since encountered management and equity problems, effectively turning the company into a "hot potato."
Shan Liang offered the market price, presenting it as a fair offer, and urged Su Ziguang to consider the opportunity, to which Su Ziguang eventually agreed to a further discussion. Wen Rou, feeling creatively drained, struggled to find inspiration for her new shoe design. To help her, Shan Liang decided to take her on an impromptu trip, instructing Jian Jian to book a romantic bed and breakfast and arrange a special dinner.
Jian Jian meticulously decorated the room and enlisted Xiao Mei's help. Upon seeing the elaborate romantic setup, Xiao Mei mistakenly believed it was intended for her. Jian Jian attempted to find alternative accommodation in the staff dorms, but the hotel staff implicitly informed him that the reserved room was available. Aware that the romantic room was initially intended for Shan Liang and Wen Rou, Jian Jian tried to alleviate any potential misunderstandings by staying up to chat with Xiao Mei in the living room. However, his awkward attempts at conversation and an accidental water spill only deepened Xiao Mei's mistaken belief in his romantic interest.
Seizing an opportune moment when Xiao Mei was momentarily distracted, Jian Jian rushed into the bedroom to quickly dismantle the heart-shaped rose decoration on the bed. Before he could finish, Xiao Mei entered, misinterpreting his frantic actions as an overly eager romantic advance. Unable to explain the escalating misunderstanding, Jian Jian fled the room. Meanwhile, Wen Yajun presented Wen Xin with a cherished, long-hidden notebook containing her mother's secret design manuscripts.
He encouraged Wen Xin to draw inspiration from them, urging her not to lose to Wen Rou in the upcoming competition. Wen Xin confidently assured him that she would not. Wen Xin later encountered Su Ziguang at a cafe, finding herself sharing a table with him as no other outdoor seating was available.
She immediately accused him of being an agent sent by Wen Rou to interfere with her, expressing her annoyance that he seemed to be siding with Wen Rou. Su Ziguang, irritated by her unfounded accusations, clarified that he was merely the event's sponsor and his involvement was purely a commercial decision, unrelated to Wen Rou.
That evening, Wen Rou received an exhilarating phone call: Ms. Liu Meng had selected both her and Wen Xin's designs for consideration and requested to try on the sample shoes the following afternoon at 3 PM at the Qilin Hotel, where she would be engaged in an outdoor photoshoot. Overwhelmed with excitement and unable to sleep, Wen Rou prepared for the momentous day.
The next morning, as she and Shan Liang arrived at the Qilin Hotel, Wen Xin deliberately took their parking space. Shan Liang, unperturbed, calmly told Wen Rou to proceed while he found another parking spot. Wen Rou, radiating confidence, declared her certainty of success.
