When Hu Li tried to calm her, she insisted she meant it, urging him to stop following her. Hu Li refused to let her go, leading to another struggle where Ji Nian accidentally fell and hurt her leg. She then lamented about her unwashed clothes, claiming her "money-crazy" nature prevented her from affording dry cleaning. Hu Li offered to wash them. Next, she complained about the messy house, explaining she canceled the cleaner for being "money-crazy." Hu Li readily agreed to serve as her cleaner. Ji Nian then deliberately scattered pistachio and sunflower seed shells on the floor, making him constantly clean up after her.
Later, Bai Dong Chen visited Ji Nian, bringing a variety of nuts still in their shells. As Ji Nian and Bai Dong Chen cheerfully cracked nuts, Hu Li was pressed into service as a human antenna to fix the TV signal for them. Bai Dong Chen remarked that a chubby-faced character on TV resembled Ji Nian, comparing her face to a "bun."
Hu Li, whose nickname is also Man Tou, felt insulted and declared he would "ruin" both Bai Dong Chen and Ji Nian once he returned to stardom. Later, Hu Li called Bai Dong Chen, claiming he was enjoying his "life experience" and that Ji Nian was actually kind to him when no one else was around.
He boasted that Ji Nian liked him so much she had confessed and begged him to stay, even cleaning the toilet, and that he had already forgiven her. Bai Dong Chen seemed skeptical but wished him good luck. At the cafe, Luo Li, admiring a tarot card, anticipated romantic love. Fatty entered the cafe, immediately captivating Luo Li.
Fatty presented Ji Nian with autographed photos of Hu Li, emphasizing their future value, and urged her to treat Hu Li better, hinting that "there's not much time left." Ji Nian agreed to be kinder, much to Fatty's delight. Ji Nian then rehearsed various ways to make up with Hu Li. Ji Nian then received a call from Yang Zhe. She hurriedly informed him that both Bai Dong Chen and Hu Li himself now knew his true identity.
Yang Zhe confirmed he was already aware, thanked her for caring for Hu Li, and stated he was taking Hu Li away early. He added that the remaining payment had been transferred to her account before hanging up abruptly. Ji Nian was stunned. Meanwhile, Yang Zhe was discussing the situation with Bai Dong Chen. Yang Zhe stated he had to take Hu Li away and that Mr. Zhou had no choice but to agree.
Bai Dong Chen expressed surprise, and Yang Zhe cautioned him that Mr. Zhou was investigating Ji Nian, advising him not to get too close. Bai Dong Chen dismissed the warning, claiming he was more important to Mr. Zhou than Hu Li or Yang Zhe. He then questioned Yang Zhe's contradictory actions, setting up Hu Li with Ji Nian only to take him away.
Yang Zhe explained that Ji Nian could only offer temporary protection and that Mr. Zhou would never truly let Hu Li go, urging Bai Dong Chen to expedite the process. Seeing the deposit notification on her phone, Ji Nian rushed home from the cafe. She found Hu Li with Yang Zhe, preparing to leave. Ji Nian asked if he was truly going, and Hu Li confirmed it, asking if she would miss him, which she denied.
She inquired about his belongings, and he casually suggested she pack them for him to pick up later. Yang Zhe offered to mail them instead. Ji Nian asked if he was so unwilling to see her again. Hu Li replied that they didn't need to meet, stating they were "going to be on different paths now," and there was "no point in talking so much."
Ji Nian agreed, adding that as he would become a superstar, talking to "someone like me is kind of pointless." She promised not to disclose his stay or trouble him further, proposing they "just go our separate ways" and "pretend that we don't know each other" if they ever met again. Hu Li agreed to her terms.
