Ji Nian, revealing her true feelings, accepted Hu Li, secretly hoping that his identity as an artificial intelligence would never be exposed. They chose new clothes.
Hu Li playfully evaluated outfits for Ji Nian, whom he called "Man Tou," and himself, "Shi Tou," before they settled on their chosen attire. Looking at each other, Ji Nian told Hu Li he looked handsome. Meanwhile, Zhou Hongwei confronted Yang Zhe, demanding to know about Ji Nian. Yang Zhe revealed that Ji Nian was Zhou Hongwei's daughter and that he had used this information as a bargaining chip to achieve his own goals.
Zhou Hongwei was enraged to learn that his daughter was not only with Hu Li but also loved him despite knowing he was an AI. Yang Zhe countered that Ji Nian was deeply in love with Hu Li, even after discovering his AI identity. Back at the cafe, Ji Nian made Hu Li a special heart-shaped cake and a latte art heart. As they shared a sweet moment, Xiao Pang rushed in and devoured Hu Li's cake. In playful annoyance, Hu Li and Ji Nian made Xiao Pang wear a mascot costume and hand out flyers outside the cafe. Later, Hu Li and Ji Nian gathered Xiao Pang, Luo Li, and Bai Dongchen for dinner at the cafe.
They shyly announced their relationship, though Bai Dongchen quipped that it was already obvious. Hu Li then sang a heartfelt song for everyone, which deeply moved Ji Nian. Unbeknownst to them, agents sent by Zhou Hongwei photographed Hu Li as he sang. After the announcement, Bai Dongchen approached Ji Nian privately. He revealed he knew Hu Li was an AI and pressed her on why she loved him despite knowing he wasn't human.

Zhou Hongwei questioned Bai Dongchen about not disclosing Hu Li's identity sooner, to which Bai Dongchen explained he initially only suspected Hu Li's true identity, then confirmed it, and thought it would be better for him if Yang Zhe took Hu Li away. Zhou Hongwei then specifically asked about Ji Nian, and Bai Dongchen revealed Ji Nian had lied to Hu Li about being his girlfriend and that Hu Li believed her.
Zhou Hongwei pondered if he should let Yang Zhe take Hu Li. Bai Dongchen advised him that since Hu Li's supposed "suicide" was publicly accepted and he had lost his memory, he held no value for the company, suggesting it would be better if he left. Convinced, Zhou Hongwei instructed Bai Dongchen to take Hu Li to Yang Zhe's place the next day, so they could depart.
Before Hu Li left, Ji Nian prepared a small kit for him, including plasters, antiseptic, iodine, and critically, Quick-acting Heart Relief Pills, urging him to take one if he felt unwell. She also gave him two candies, one for when he was sad and one for when he missed her. She made him promise to return to her no matter what Yang Zhe said, assuring him they would face everything together.
On the way to meet Yang Zhe, Hu Li asked Bai Dongchen about the pills, sensing a "big bomb" awaited him. Bai Dongchen revealed that Yang Zhe intended for Hu Li to leave, specifically to leave Ji Nian, which Hu Li found hard to believe. Meanwhile, at Smile Cafe, a black-clad man was still secretly observing and photographing the establishment.
At Yang Zhe's lab, Hu Li was shown a screen displaying "AI 2002TQ97" as Yang Zhe finally revealed the truth: Hu Li was an AI. Yang Zhe explained that Zhou Hongwei wanted him eliminated and had orchestrated his disappearance, making it imperative for Hu Li to leave with him. Hu Li vehemently denied being an AI, insisting he was a human with flesh and blood.
Yang Zhe explained that Hu Li was his creation, engineered to be almost indistinguishable from a human, save for a brain chip. He highlighted Hu Li's lack of curiosity about his parents as an AI trait and mentioned his ongoing malfunctions. Hu Li refused to accept the truth or leave initially. He questioned if he was expected to seek refuge with Ji Nian.
Yang Zhe then revealed that Ji Nian was Zhou Hongwei's daughter and that her connection to Zhou Hongwei was the only reason she was safe for Hu Li to be around, a fact Ji Nian was unaware of. Yang Zhe insisted that Zhou Hongwei would never allow them to be together, forcing Hu Li to make a choice. Yang Zhe then restored Hu Li's memories.
As his memories returned, Hu Li's thoughts drifted to his first experience of jealousy and the love diary Ji Nian had given him. He questioned if his cherished memories of the funfair were also implanted, which Yang Zhe confirmed, reiterating that it was all to save him. Feeling like a tool and a pawn in their games, and now fully understanding the truth of his malfunctioning AI nature, Hu Li chose to leave with Yang Zhe.
Amidst Hu Li's turmoil, Yang Zhe received a message. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he quickly messaged Bai Dongchen: "Look for Ji Nian." Moments later, black-clad men stormed into the lab and seized Hu Li. Bai Dongchen swiftly picked up Ji Nian, informing her that Hu Li was in grave danger. They rushed to a desolate factory, where Zhou Hongwei was preparing to destroy Hu Li.
Zhou Hongwei, recounting the five years spent making Hu Li a star, declared his intention to dispose of him as mere "scrap metal." Hu Li sarcastically thanked Zhou Hongwei, acknowledging that without him, he would never have met Ji Nian, but confessed that he had only brought her suffering. He pleaded with Zhou Hongwei not to tell Ji Nian about his true nature. Zhou Hongwei agreed.
As Ji Nian and Bai Dongchen arrived, Ji Nian screamed Hu Li's nickname, "Shi Tou," and rushed to his side. Bai Dongchen urged her to appeal to Zhou Hongwei, reminding her that he was her father and would not harm her. Ji Nian confronted Zhou Hongwei directly, threatening never to forgive him if he harmed Hu Li. Despite Hu Li's pleas for her to leave, insisting he wasn't worth it, Ji Nian steadfastly refused, declaring she would stay with him.
Witnessing his daughter's profound distress, Zhou Hongwei relented and ordered his men to release Hu Li. Ji Nian rushed to Hu Li, checking if he was hurt, and he reassured her he was fine. Bai Dongchen then went to get the car.
