Recognizing Chi Hong as Qin Shangcheng’s formidable rival, Hua Rong quickly concocted a story of amnesia, hoping to escape and find her husband before her true identity was revealed. Chi Hong, intrigued by the seemingly lost woman, summoned Master Hua to assess her.
Master Hua, fortunately not recognizing her as Rong'er, declared Hua Rong to be Chi Hong’s “Lucky Star of Love,” prophesying that Qin Shangcheng would soon be hers. Upon learning that the Holy Alliance Assembly was imminent in Shengcheng and Qin Shangcheng had already departed, Chi Hong decided to set off immediately. Master Hua then informed her that a Holy Island Token was required to attend, currently held by a local bully named Hao Weifeng in Mingzhou City.
Seeing this as an opportunity to both acquire the token and eliminate a villain, Chi Hong agreed to retrieve it. Hua Rong, realizing she couldn't immediately return to Qin Shangcheng, decided to accompany Chi Hong to the assembly, hoping to reunite with him there. She offered her allegiance to Chi Hong as a token of gratitude for saving her life, subtly winking at Master Hua as she spoke.
Pleased, Chi Hong accepted and, noting her supposed memory loss, named her “Crab” (Xiao Xie). Later, at a bustling restaurant, Chi Hong was informed that Hao Weifeng and his ten subordinates were on the second floor. Confident in her prowess, Chi Hong ascended to confront them. Though her subordinate, Xiao Meng, assured Crab of Chi Hong’s skills, Crab grew anxious as the sounds of a fierce battle erupted upstairs.
Rushing up, Crab found Chi Hong had already triumphed and effortlessly seized the Holy Island Token. When an adversary attempted a surprise attack, Crab quickly alerted Chi Hong, saving her from harm. Deeply touched, Chi Hong proposed they become sworn sisters, promising to share everything except men. Crab gladly agreed, and Chi Hong gifted her an identical red fox mask.
Meanwhile, Qin Shangcheng, along with Zhang Xian and Qian Dayou, was in Shengcheng, strategizing to find Hua Rong and dispatching his men to gather intelligence. Chi Hong, observing the arrival of King Pirate’s ship, mused about her enduring fascination with Qin Shangcheng. She recounted that he was the first man to defeat her and see her unmasked face. She found him irresistible, admiring his discerning nature and untamed spirit, determined to conquer him.
Crab, though happy for her sister, playfully suggested Chi Hong deserved a "better man." Chi Hong remained steadfast, expressing gratitude for his wife's demise, believing it was fate's arrangement for them to reunite. As Crab left a restaurant, Qin Shangcheng and his companions arrived, narrowly missing her. From an upper floor, Qin Shangcheng spotted a masked woman remarkably similar to Hua Rong and immediately pursued her. Concurrently, Crab noticed a man in black and discreetly followed him.
Qin Shangcheng's chase, however, led him to Chi Hong, not Hua Rong. Crab’s pursuit of the man in black revealed Duanmu Bai as the mastermind behind recent events, confirming that Prince Mu's Residence was involved. Accidentally making a noise while eavesdropping, she was discovered and pursued by Duanmu Bai. Thinking quickly, Crab feigned amnesia again. Just then, Chi Hong appeared.
Duanmu Bai, recognizing Crab, attempted to manipulate her by claiming she was his fiancée, "Little White Dove," an orphan from Prince Mu's Residence, and presented a mermaid jade pendant as proof of their shared past. Chi Hong scoffed at his story, but Crab, eager to understand her identity, insisted on hearing him out, despite Chi Hong's skepticism. Afterwards, Crab decided to leave, and Chi Hong, supportive, accompanied her.
From a distance, Kong Lin, Duanmu Bai’s master, saw Crab as a strategic asset in their plan to acquire the holy rapier and challenge Qin Shangcheng. Later, contemplating how to warn Qin Shangcheng, Crab learned from Chi Hong that Qin Shangcheng had been sighted, and Xiao Meng was tracking him to Sheng Xin Hotel. Excited, Chi Hong rushed to the hotel. Spotting Qin Shangcheng’s men, Qian Dayou and Zhang Xian, at the entrance, she anticipated Qin Shangcheng’s escape.
She left Crab at the door, instructing her to wait while she and Xiao Meng attempted to intercept him through a back exit. Seizing the opportunity, Crab entered the hotel alone, but then disappeared, leading Chi Hong to suspect she had been targeted by a scheme. At the Holy Alliance Assembly, Qin Shangcheng spotted a masked dancer whom he instantly recognized as Hua Rong. Overcome with emotion, he rushed to embrace her.
However, Hua Rong, seemingly under Duanmu Bai’s control, coldly demanded the holy rapier and stabbed him. Chi Hong, witnessing this, tried to intervene, but Hua Rong, appearing utterly changed, fiercely broke free and departed. Recovering from the attack, Qin Shangcheng and his men deduced that Hua Rong was suffering from amnesia, likely manipulated by Duanmu Bai. Suspecting Duanmu Bai’s scheme, Qin Shangcheng arranged a meeting with Hua Rong at Taoyuan Residence.
Hua Rong, convinced she was Duanmu Bai’s fiancée, confronted Qin Shangcheng at Taoyuan Residence, attempting to seize the holy rapier. Realizing her martial skills were inferior, she shifted tactics, questioning him about "Rong" and her past. This emotional appeal caused Qin Shangcheng to hesitate. She then suggested a deal: she would help him win the alliance leadership if he promised her the holy rapier. Qin Shangcheng, seeing an opportunity to help her recover, accepted.
He followed her out and later confronted Duanmu Bai, beating him and challenging him to seek the holy rapier honorably instead of manipulating Hua Rong. Meanwhile, Chi Hong discovered Hua Rong’s dropped mask, confirming her suspicions of manipulation. She confronted Qin Shangcheng, asking if Crab was indeed his wife, Hua Rong. Qin Shangcheng, wanting to protect Hua Rong from further harm, denied it.
Under Kong Lin’s directive, the first assessment task for the alliance leadership was announced: forming male-female teams to brew "Golden Wind and Jade Dew" wine, a concoction necessary to brave the miasma-laden Imperial Island. Qin Shangcheng immediately approached Hua Rong to be his partner, solidifying their agreement regarding the holy rapier once he became the alliance leader.
