Gu Yiran was helping Zheng Bei's parents clear the dishes and chopsticks when he noticed that the situation with Li Wenlong and his group was unusual. He first threw hair into the pot, then smashed bowls and cursed loudly, vandalizing the restaurant. Because Gu Yiran dodged in time, the parents and sister Zheng Nan hid in the kitchen and were not seriously injured.
Instead, Gu Yiran had put a beer bottle in the pot beforehand, and continuous heating caused the bottle to explode, inflicting considerable injury on Li Wenlong and his group. Just as Li Wenlong was enraged and about to shoot and kill Gu Yiran, Zheng Bei fortunately rushed back quickly and subdued these few drug dealers in a few moves.
In this way, Zheng Bei recognized that Li Wenlong was one of the two people who shot a police officer back then. He didn't expect him to commit another crime as soon as he was released. Zheng Bei blamed himself for increasing the danger to his family, but his parents and sister Zheng Nan both felt that he was an excellent police officer, and without him, so many bad people would not be brought to justice.

Li Wenlong's father reminded Zheng Bei to go and check on Gu Yiran, as he was injured protecting his family.
Zheng Bei, however, felt that it was okay for a man to have a minor injury and gave him a White Rabbit candy. The next morning, Gu Yiran ran to the special task force for work, while Zheng Bei took a taxi. Xin Tiegang saw this and commented that Zheng Bei was not as good as Gu Yiran, but Zheng Bei thought it was fine to take a taxi once or twice since he was investigating taxi companies.
At this moment, Gao Linsheng came over to ask about Zheng Bei's situation and learned that Zheng Bei and his team had confirmed that Yifeng Taxi Company was indeed involved with drugs. There was a place specifically for transporting ecstasy pills, but they hadn't found any traces of ice (meth). Gao Linsheng told Zheng Bei that although Huazhou was very far from Halan, further northeast was the border line.
The higher-ups placed great importance on cases involving new types of drugs and insisted that these things must be nipped in the bud. On the other side, Qin Yi dealt with the people from Lan Jiguang and handed the business over to Er Jin to be in charge. As for the taxi matters, he had another person in mind.
A few days later, Jiang Xiaohai was about to leave the detention center, and his older sister Jiang Yingzi came to pick him up to go home. Facing Zheng Bei, Jiang Yingzi felt very ashamed. She recounted the past of how their parents adopted Jiang Xiaohai, and her guilt towards her younger brother was obvious.
Zheng Bei could see that Jiang Xiaohai's nature was not bad, he just experienced too much cruelty at an age when he should have been carefree. When Zheng Bei saw Jiang Xiaohai's innocent appearance, he was furious. He showed Jiang Xiaohai the restaurant's sign, and only then did Jiang Xiaohai realize that this open-air restaurant was a branch of Zheng Bei's family's restaurant. Jiang Xiaohai was completely dumbfounded.
He never expected Old Man Zheng (Zheng Bei's father) would make the business so big. He quickly apologized to the parents and stated that he would clean up the restaurant. The parents were not angry either, which made Zheng Bei feel both annoyed and amused. During the meal, Zheng Bei told Jiang Xiaohai not to play word games with him. Even if he didn't physically fight at the time, he instigated others to beat Lin Jiang.
Zheng Bei suggested that Jiang Xiaohai work for him, but Jiang Xiaohai did not agree. He revealed that when he was a child, he almost died under a bridge in winter and was only saved and survived because Qin Yi rescued him. Therefore, he could never betray Qin Yi. Afterward, Jiang Xiaohai went home and saw his godfather Qin Yi had been waiting for him for a long time. He revealed that the police were already targeting taxis.
Qin Yi could see that Jiang Xiaohai was partly scouting information for him, and partly he had already come to regard Zheng Bei as a friend. Jiang Xiaohai listened to Qin Yi's words and remained silent, offering no response.
