Take My Brother Away Episode 5 Recap
> Take My Brother Away Recap
Shi Miao urgently needed to use the toilet, but Shi Fen was inside and would not come out. Shi Fen then complained of severe back pain, which was caused by Shi Miao beating him. This incident occurred because Cheng Haonan had threatened Shi Fen using Shi Miao to force Shi Fen to repay a debt.
Upon learning that Shi Fen owed money (partly because he used her meal card to buy chicken legs for others), Shi Miao became furious and beat him. Miao Miaomiao witnessed Shi Fen being beaten and was delighted, believing Shi Miao had finally recognized Shi Fen's "scumbag" nature. Later, she saw the siblings fighting and heard Shi Miao talk about separating from Shi Fen, which Miao Miaomiao misinterpreted as them being in a cohabiting relationship that had soured.
She imagined Shi Miao becoming pregnant out of wedlock, expelled from school, and disowned, with Shi Fen turning to gambling. Overwhelmed by these thoughts, Miao Miaomiao violently shoved Shi Fen, called him a "scumbag," and pushed Shi Miao onto a public bus. Once on the bus, Shi Miao clarified that Shi Fen was her older brother, causing Miao Miaomiao to realize her mistake and remember she had left her bicycle at the bus stop.
After being pushed, Shi Fen rode Miao Miaomiao's bicycle to school and punctured its tires before parking it. Shi Fen then received a letter instructing him to follow blue marks. He attempted to follow them, but they had been swept away by a cleaner. Cheng Haonan, who had been waiting, confronted Shi Fen about the unpaid debt, threatening to beat him.
Shi Fen promised to get a ticket for a Zhang Mou concert in exchange for clearing the debt, which Cheng Haonan happily accepted. Miao Miaomiao felt embarrassed to retrieve her bicycle. Shi Miao, seeing Shi Fen, confronted him about the bike key, scolding him before taking it back for Miao Miaomiao. In composition class, the students were tasked to write about "Home." Wang Keke's essay, with its elaborate language, received praise.
Shi Miao's essay initially described a seemingly plain childhood memory of her parents taking them to an amusement park. She recounted how her parents, during that trip, revealed their plans to separate and constantly argued. Her brother, Shi Fen, distracted her with a string game, making it a memorable event. The teacher later praised Shi Miao's revised essay for its wording.
Shi Miao had tried to express the profound love of her mother, while secretly recalling how she and Shi Fen had feigned illness to prevent their parents' divorce, only to discover they were already divorced. Shi Fen had kept the truth from Shi Miao, letting her sleep, then broke the news, causing her great sadness, which he comforted her through.
He promised to always be there for her, and if he ever left, it would be on April Fool's Day, sealing it with a pinky swear. When Miao Miaomiao informed Shi Miao that her bicycle had been found with a punctured tire, Shi Miao immediately defended Shi Fen.
She believed he would not have done it, or if he did, it was because he could not lock the bike and feared it would be stolen, convinced that her brother was a warm and kind person. Later, Shi Miao approached Shi Fen during a break, giving him snacks and listing his good qualities, only for him to fall asleep.
When You Le came to collect homework, Shi Fen did not submit his and voluntarily went to stand at the back of the classroom. After school, Shi Miao persuaded a reluctant Shi Fen, through threats (including checking surveillance to "beat the tire-puncturer into a tire"), to carry Miao Miaomiao's bicycle home. Upon returning home, they discovered the refrigerator empty with all leftovers thrown out.
However, the refrigerator door had been fixed, and Miao Miaomiao's bicycle tire was repaired, leading them not to blame their father. Hungry, Shi Miao pleaded with a tired Shi Fen for food. He went to the kitchen and made jelly from powder to satisfy her hunger, after which Shi Miao took many photos of the food before eating.
