Wan Sui, the eldest son of the global "Wan Corporation," feels lonely and yearns for ordinary friends and a normal life away from his overprotective mother. At his insistence, his mother agrees to find him a new school, a task she delegates to his younger son, Wan Xing, a 12-year-old prodigy with an IQ of 160. After a brief investigation of an ordinary middle school, Wan Xing decides it is the perfect place for his brother.
He instructs Wan Sui to hide his wealthy identity to avoid being deceived as he had been in the past and makes him walk to the school to maintain a low profile. On his way, Wan Sui is bullied by Cheng Haonan but is saved by the school nurse. In Grade 2, Class 4, Shi Fen proposes a prank to welcome the new student, Wan Sui.
The plan is for the entire class to ignore him, making him feel like an outcast, before surprising him with a flash mob. The teacher cautiously approves. Meanwhile, in another class, Shi Miao wants to join a weekend party that costs thirty yuan. Wang Keke, who is collecting the money, initially scoffs at her, knowing Shi Miao's financial situation. This only strengthens Shi Miao’s resolve to go. Wan Xing transfers into Shi Miao’s class.
While his classmates are disappointed he isn't a handsome new student, Miao Miaomiao eagerly volunteers to be his deskmate, but he requests to sit alone. When Wan Sui arrives in Shi Fen’s class, the plan goes into effect. He is completely ignored during his introduction and is not even given an exam paper. After the exam, he is knocked to the ground in the rush of students leaving for break.
As Shi Fen approaches, Wan Sui thinks he is finally being noticed, but Shi Fen simply reaches past him to grab a sticker on the wall. Utterly dejected, Wan Sui runs out screaming. Wan Xing, who is monitoring his brother with a drone, happily reports to their mother that Wan Sui is being isolated and will likely want to transfer schools soon.
Shi Fen and Zhen Kaixin are called to the nurse's office and reprimanded for bullying Wan Sui, who is found crying. Wan Sui has misinterpreted the cold shoulder as a school curse that requires a "transparent person" to be chosen each year, and he believes he is the chosen one. When he returns to the classroom to give a speech accepting his fate, he accidentally steps on a female student's foot, causing her to break character.
The entire class abandons Shi Fen's plan and swarms Wan Sui with affection. When Shi Fen returns to find his plan ruined and Wan Sui the center of attention, he becomes furious and declares Wan Sui his enemy. Later, Shi Miao finally gathers the thirty yuan for the party, but Wang Keke insults her, telling her they can’t be friends because she isn’t good enough.
Wang Keke then becomes Wan Xing's new deskmate and tries to take a photo with him, but he refuses. She records a video instead, prompting him to demand a new deskmate again. At the cafeteria, Wan Xing is disgusted by the unsanitary conditions and refuses to eat. Wan Sui is invited to eat by female classmates and, while waiting, mistakenly eats leftover food from a plate on the table.
After realizing his mistake, he rushes out to vomit, which Shi Fen and Zhen Kaixin find hilarious. Long after everyone has left, Wan Xing, though feeling humiliated, finally forces himself to eat.
