One morning, a knock on the door wakes Shi Miao. Believing her brother Shi Fen is out for morning practice, she answers it to find a snack sponsor reclaiming their products because Zhen Kaixin has withdrawn from the basketball tournament. Shi Miao watches helplessly as the snacks are taken away, only to return to her room and find Shi Fen still asleep. Furious at his broken promise and laziness, she hits him.

At school, Shi Fen climbs a wall to get in and is caught by the PE teacher, Teacher Tian. His head teacher, Teacher Lu, intervenes and takes him back to class. Shi Fen then uses studying as an excuse to avoid basketball practice, an act of evasion obvious to everyone. You Le confronts him, telling him not to make promises he can’t keep.

Meanwhile, Hao Ren tries to persuade Teacher Tian to let him replace Shi Fen on the team, boasting that his looks are superior, but Teacher Tian dismisses him, stating that appearance is part of a player's strength. Wan Xing also approaches Teacher Tian, offering technical support by using sound interference, but she rejects the idea as it violates basketball rules. After class, Shi Miao confronts and scolds Shi Fen for not training.

During their fight, something she says gives him an epiphany. He rushes to the basketball court and proposes a new strategy to the team. Drawing from his years of experience fighting with Shi Miao, he argues that since they are weaker offensively than their professional opponents, they should focus on annoying and frustrating them until they make mistakes, which will create their opportunity to score.

The team is skeptical, and Teacher Tian challenges Shi Fen to make a slam dunk to prove himself. If he succeeds, the team will follow his strategy. Shi Fen acts confident but slips and falls before he can even shoot. Enraged, Teacher Tian kicks him out of the gym. Feeling misunderstood, Shi Fen is approached by Wan Xing, who tells him a wealthy alumnus has hired a retired professional basketball player.

They go to the gym, where Shi Fen sees Teacher Tian training the team using his exact "annoyance" strategy, and he understands her tough approach was meant to help him. Meanwhile, the hired red-haired coach arrives at the school, only to be told he has been fired. Newly motivated, Shi Fen begins training rigorously, even waking up early for morning runs and buying breakfast for Shi Miao.

His training is so intense that he almost falls on the stairs from exhaustion, but Wan Xing pushes Wan Sui to save him. His hard work pays off when he finally makes a shot, solidifying his role as the team's soul in the eyes of Teacher Tian and Teacher Lu. In a related development, the dean of students appoints Wan Sui as the basketball team's medical assistant.

Wan Xing gives him a manual on NBA player care, but Wan Sui dismisses it, believing the methods are unsuitable for Eastern physiques. After seeing cupping therapy on TV, he decides to try it on a security guard, but his improper technique results in burning the man. The school doctor discovers the scene and treats the guard's injuries. Zhen Kaixin, who had quit, visits the practice court but is turned away by Teacher Tian.

Dejected, he loses focus in class, constantly staring out the window. After discussing Zhen Kaixin’s situation with Teacher Lu, Teacher Tian agrees to let him play for half the game, preventing him from having any lifelong regrets.
