Following a heartwarming birthday celebration where Su Muyun and Su Nianfeng made a new cake together, Nianfeng sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Su Muyun declared it the best birthday he had ever had, and they shared a tender embrace. Su Muyun then walked Nianfeng back to her residence, only to be met by the sound of her flatmate, Xiao Ya, and her boyfriend arguing inside.
The man desperately pleaded with Xiao Ya not to leave him, but she broke free and ran towards the door. The man, enraged, picked up glass shards from the floor and lunged forward. Su Muyun quickly stepped in front of Xiao Ya and Nianfeng, shielding them before kicking the man to the ground. Su Muyun urged them to call the police, but the man brandished the glass, threatening them against it, before making a swift escape.
Seeing that Su Muyun's hand had been cut and was bleeding, Nianfeng promptly took him inside to bandage the wound. Su Muyun announced his intention to stay the night, causing Nianfeng to blush and stammer about keeping appropriate distance between genders. Su Muyun, however, insisted he would sleep on the sofa, worried the "crazy guy" might return.
Nianfeng feigned indifference, saying it was "suit yourself," but later that night, she worried he might get cold and quietly brought him a blanket. As she gazed at his sleeping face, she instinctively reached out to touch him. Su Muyun suddenly opened his eyes, asking if she wasn't supposed to be indifferent to him. Nianfeng, flustered, immediately closed her eyes, pretending to sleepwalk. Su Muyun found her amusing, then picked her up and carried her back to her room.
When she sensed he was about to kiss her, Nianfeng quickly pulled away, then opened her eyes and asked if she had sleepwalked again. Su Muyun gravely told her it had been dangerous, claiming she almost jumped off the building, and insisted he should stay by her side. He then made a makeshift bed on the floor by her bed, and they held hands, creating a sweet moment of closeness.
The next day, as they walked together, Nianfeng received a call from Liu Zihui, who was distressed that her dessert shop was in trouble. Nianfeng and Su Muyun rushed over to find the shop's door sealed shut. Su Muyun immediately deduced that Ouyang Qingxue was behind it, assuring Nianfeng he would help her find evidence to restart the business. He added that the only thing he lacked confidence in was Nianfeng's feelings for him.
Soon after, Nianfeng received another call, this time from Ouyang Yu, informing her that Le Diyin's drug experiment had encountered problems. She promptly hurried to the company. Ouyang Yu explained that Le Diyin's condition had been temporarily stabilized, and Thomas had advised adjusting the formula and re-doing the trials.
Nianfeng worried about the time required, but Ouyang Yu emphasized that the project needed her expertise and promised to mobilize all his American technical staff to accelerate the drug testing and adjustment. Later, Liu Zihui approached Nianfeng, distraught that Lin Di had been missing for over three days. She felt helpless without him, leading Nianfeng to deduce that Zihui had fallen in love with him. Zihui, however, suspected Lin Di might be seeing someone else.
Nianfeng dismissed the idea, encouraging Zihui to find him and have an honest conversation. The following day, Zihui tracked down Lin Di's friend to inquire about his whereabouts. The friend revealed that Lin Di had been sick with a fever for several days due to exhaustion from working day and night. Zihui then went to Lin Di's apartment. Surprised by her visit, Lin Di hastily tidied up the place. Zihui noticed an empty instant noodles box on his table.
Lin Di then pulled out a bank card from his pocket, explaining it was his "first pot of gold" earned entirely through his own efforts, not relying on his family or selling shoes. He wanted her to use it to buy the cosmetics she had been wanting but hesitated to purchase. He promised to do his best to get her whatever she desired in the future. Overwhelmed with emotion, Liu Zihui embraced and kissed Lin Di.
Meanwhile, Ouyang Yu successfully advocated for the drug project in a board meeting, despite initial objections regarding its over-budget investment and the difficulty of treating dilated cardiomyopathy. Nianfeng expressed her gratitude to Ouyang Yu, who reminded her that she still owed him a meal. Nianfeng then cooked for him. Nianfeng then accompanied Le Diyin to the United States for treatment. During her week-long absence, Su Muyun found time passing agonizingly slowly. When the week finally ended, he went to the airport to greet her, and they shared a joyous embrace and kiss upon her arrival. Ouyang Yu then approached Nianfeng, presenting her with a diamond necklace.
