Su Muyun sat on a bench outside Zhuo Yifeng's residence. Worried he might get cold, Zhuo Yifeng brought him a blanket. She approached him, urging him to leave as the temperature was dropping and he might get sick. He playfully asked if she would ignore him then, but she reassured him she would be fine, displaying a wristband she wore for safety. Su Muyun expressed his worry, stating he could only feel relieved if he personally took care of her.
He then told her to go home. As she turned to leave quickly, one of her slippers fell off. He picked it up and helped her put it back on. Flustered, she quickly walked away. When she reached the building entrance, she touched her flushed face, feeling her heart race. She secretly turned to look back at Su Muyun and smiled sweetly when she saw him still sitting there.
Su Muyun also inquired about the assistant he had arranged for the lab, learning she was currently on leave but would join after it ended. At his home, Ouyang Yu asked Monica to send him the surveillance footage of the Data Room. He observed the video, smiling as he watched Zhuo Yifeng retrieve materials. He then stopped his treadmill, zoomed in on Zhuo Yifeng on his iPad, and fell into deep thought.
Later, after class, Zhuo Yifeng presented her paper on using Trimetazidine to help with dilated cardiomyopathy, a topic she chose because her best friend suffers from the condition. Afterward, Liu Zihui, her friend, asked her to be a model, but Zhuo Yifeng, pressed for time, politely declined, explaining she was already running late for the office. Su Muyun then caught up with her, pulling her back.
He presented her with a homemade bento, explaining he had been thinking of her while preparing it and offered to feed her. Zhuo Yifeng took a bite, declaring it tasted bad, then reiterated her rush to leave. Su Muyun offered to drive her, but she refused, insisting she could ride her own bike. Unbeknownst to them, someone took a photo of their interaction and sent it to Ouyang Qingxue.
Elsewhere, Ouyang Qingxue, observing the photo, was annoyed by how happy Su Muyun seemed despite Zhuo Yifeng's fierce attitude towards him, and she called Monica. At the company, Zhuo Yifeng was busy keying in data that the marketing department needed. Monica instructed her to retrieve an urgent document from her car in the parking lot. Zhuo Yifeng went to the parking lot but found no signal and no car.
Upon her return, Monica coolly informed her that she hadn't driven that day and blamed Zhuo Yifeng for the delay, asserting that finding items in her car was not part of Zhuo Yifeng's job and she should be thanked for helping. Zhuo Yifeng retorted angrily, defending herself. Ouyang Yu then called Zhuo Yifeng to his office. He presented her with a box containing expensive accessories and a beautiful dress, inviting her to be his partner for a banquet that evening.
Monica entered at that moment, seeking Ouyang Yu's signature, and couldn't hide her jealousy upon seeing the gifts. Zhuo Yifeng declined the invitation, explaining she wished to dedicate her full attention to the "Thomas project" and to caring for her sick friend. Ouyang Yu accepted her refusal, but still insisted she take the gifts, noting they were a hard-to-find Autumn Limited Edition. Zhuo Yifeng thanked him.
Outside the office, Ouyang Qingxue expressed her fury to Monica about Ouyang Yu inviting Zhuo Yifeng and giving her lavish gifts, especially since Zhuo Yifeng was merely an intern, and Ouyang Yu had always taken Ouyang Qingxue to previous banquets. Ouyang Qingxue speculated that Zhuo Yifeng was merely playing hard to get and vowed not to let her succeed so easily. That evening, Zhuo Yifeng looked down from her balcony but didn't see Su Muyun, feeling a little disappointed.
Meanwhile, Su Muyun was playing basketball with his teammates. During a break, his phone received a photo of Zhuo Yifeng embracing Qin Yao, which visibly upset him. Not far away, Ouyang Qingxue observed his expression, feeling pleased. Liu Zihui attempted to flirt with Su Muyun, recalling that they had dated, even claiming she had been his model. Su Muyun, however, dismissed her, stating she was just a backup.
Later, at the team gathering, Su Muyun drank his sorrows away, gradually becoming intoxicated. Lin Di then pulled him into a drinking contest, and Su Muyun quickly became very drunk. Liu Zihui made a video call to Zhuo Yifeng. Su Muyun, confused and slurring, mistook the video call for Zhuo Yifeng's presence and questioned why she had hugged Qin Yao. Zhuo Yifeng watched him stumble and fall in the video.
Realizing he was at the Provence Restaurant, she rushed to him. As Zhuo Yifeng arrived, Liu Zihui quietly departed. Zhuo Yifeng held Su Muyun's hand as he tearfully confessed he had been waiting for her and pleaded with her to take him home. Zhuo Yifeng, with a heavy heart, apologized for being late and gently embraced him. Zhuo Yifeng tried to help a very heavy Su Muyun walk home, but the distance was too far.
She hailed a taxi, but as she opened the door, she hesitated. The driver impatiently asked if they were getting in. She said yes, but Su Muyun unexpectedly closed the door, stating that Zhuo Yifeng was afraid of cars, leaving her bewildered. The driver, annoyed, drove off. Zhuo Yifeng had no choice but to continue supporting Su Muyun on foot. Su Muyun then murmured that it was dark and she was clumsy and might fall.
When she threatened to leave him there, he tenderly responded that he would be heartbroken if she fell. Feeling touched, Zhuo Yifeng smiled. Su Muyun then leaned his head towards her, and just as he was about to kiss her lips, she suddenly put her hand up to block him. As they passed a hotel, Zhuo Yifeng decided to check them in so Su Muyun could rest.
She requested a single room, telling the receptionist she would leave after settling him. However, Su Muyun resisted her departure, insisting she stay. The receptionist informed them that only a "Fantasy Couple Themed room" was available at a price of 1299 RMB per night. Su Muyun, still insistent, fumbled for Zhuo Yifeng's wallet, prompting her to jokingly call him a "miser." Once in the room, Su Muyun tossed and turned in bed.
She tried to get him to rest and tucked him in, but he pulled her onto the bed, wrapping her in the blanket. They both slept in the room for the night. He confessed he felt unwell and wanted her to make him fried rice, lamenting that his own attempts always tasted bad and that he felt "sad without her." She playfully retorted that he simply lacked talent.
Later, Su Muyun stared at Zhuo Yifeng, and she asked if her beauty had shocked him. She then explained that she had brought him to the hotel because he was so drunk and his house was too far. The next morning, Zhuo Yifeng awoke to find Su Muyun watching her intently. He immediately questioned her about Qin Yao, but she snapped back that it was none of his business.
He then commented that she would rather pursue a "one-sided love" than be his girlfriend, to which she reaffirmed her freedom to like whomever she chose. At the office, Monica immediately confronted Zhuo Yifeng about not sending documents the previous night and for being three minutes late, deducting three days' salary, and dismissing Zhuo Yifeng's explanation about having "troubles." Ouyang Yu arrived and inquired about the "urgent" documents Monica had requested.
Monica casually stated they were just backup plans for the advertising department and not urgent. Ouyang Yu then announced that Zhuo Yifeng would be his assistant for the "Thomas project," which was set to begin the following week, and instructed Monica to arrange an additional allowance for her.
He playfully remarked that he had heard she was a good cook and she could make him a meal if she truly wanted to thank him, before telling her to focus on her work. Later, at a restaurant with Lin Di, Liu Zihui complained about the minimum spending. Lin Di managed to get them a one percent discount by mentioning his connection to the Mingxian Liaison Department.
He urged Liu Zihui to eat more, but she insisted on losing weight, even complaining when he ate her bean sprouts. She mused that only getting "filthy rich" could relieve her troubles, prompting Lin Di to comment on her "lack of ambition." Subsequently, Liu Zihui received a mysterious parcel. Inside, she found a lottery ticket with the message, "Hope you can get filthy rich." Recognizing Su Muyun's handiwork, an annoyed Liu Zihui yelled at him to stop bothering her.
