Disoriented and confused, Su Nianfeng found herself almost hit by a car on the street, only to be shielded by Su Muyun who had rushed to her aid. After she regained full consciousness, she wondered why he was there. Su Muyun revealed she had been very drunk and called him, recounting how she had demanded he bark like a dog before she would tell him her location, something he reluctantly did.

When she couldn't remember where she was, he instructed her to share her real-time location via WeChat, which she proudly accomplished. Su Nianfeng expressed disbelief that she would have made such a call, but Su Muyun teased her, mentioning he hadn't even reached the "most embarrassing part" of her drunken antics. She quickly stopped him from continuing, then, after thanking him for picking her up, suggested they both go home.

However, she insisted she wouldn't return home with him until the truth of their past was clarified. Observing the late hour and the unsafe conditions, Su Muyun offered to take her to Le Diyin's house instead. As they walked, Su Muyun stopped at a supermarket to buy water for Su Nianfeng's hangover, urging her to drink less in the future due to the dangers of her current state.

Su Nianfeng then asked him directly if she sleepwalked, and he confirmed it was a traumatic stress disorder resulting from a past car accident. She questioned why he hadn't told her sooner, arguing that she could have at least protected herself. Su Muyun insisted that she didn't need to, as he would protect her. This revelation made Su Nianfeng understand why he had frequently appeared in her room in the past, leading her to thank him for his long-term care.

In response, he pulled her into a hug, claiming to be cold and needing to warm up. Though she tried to pull away, he playfully reminded her about returning the favor for his help, then decided he was hungry and suggested they eat something. As dawn broke, Su Nianfeng, now hungry, joined Su Muyun for breakfast.

Su Muyun recounted how difficult things had been for their parents since she left, describing their mother constantly cleaning her room and their father, who never used to drink, now drinking alone and reminiscing about her childhood while looking at old photos. He questioned if she had forgotten their happy family life. Overwhelmed, Su Nianfeng pleaded with him to stop pressuring her, asking for more time, and he respected her decision, leaving her at Le Diyin's house.

Upon entering, Su Nianfeng discovered Le Diyin collapsed on the floor. Her panicked cries alerted Su Muyun, who immediately rushed in, carried Le Diyin on his back, and hurried him to Chengzhong Hospital. Le Diyin was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy that caused Stokes-Adams Syndrome, requiring observation. Su Nianfeng was deeply worried about his condition.

She received a call from Ouyang Yu, who already knew about Le Diyin's hospitalization, having been told by Su Nianfeng the previous night when she was intoxicated. Su Nianfeng apologized for her drunken state and for running out late at night, but Ouyang Yu reassured her that her safety was paramount and she never needed to apologize. Despite her workload, he told her to focus on Le Diyin and take care of herself, advising her to go home and sleep.

Su Nianfeng, however, corrected him, stating her name was Zhuo Yifeng. Meanwhile, Ouyang Yu's assistant provided him with Le Diyin's medical records. Ouyang Yu then met with Dr. Thomas, a specialist, to discuss Le Diyin's condition. Dr. Thomas expressed that there was nothing he could do for Le Diyin's specific condition.

Ouyang Yu, however, offered full financial, equipment, and personnel support for Dr. Thomas's viral myocarditis research project, on the condition that Dr. Thomas took on an assistant for the dilated cardiomyopathy drug research. Ouyang Yu emphasized that this assistant, whose identity he kept secret, was intelligent, wouldn't be a burden, and was uniquely driven to find a cure.

Monica informed Ouyang Qingxue that her "gut feeling was right" about Ouyang Yu and "Xiao Feng" (Su Nianfeng), confirming that Le Diyin was Su Nianfeng's best friend and that Ouyang Yu's investment in the new drug research and development was for her. Ouyang Qingxue, furious that Su Nianfeng was getting closer to her brother after supposedly taking Su Muyun, encouraged Monica to make Su Nianfeng's internship unbearable, hoping to drive her to resign from the company.

Later, Ouyang Qingxue confronted her brother, Ouyang Yu, over dinner, questioning why he was investing so heavily in Dr. Thomas's research for Le Diyin, a person she considered unimportant. She accused him of doing it for Zhuo Yifeng, expressing her anger that Zhuo Yifeng had not only "taken" Su Muyun but was now "trying to take" her brother too, vowing to make Zhuo Yifeng's life difficult.

Ouyang Yu simply stated he knew what he was doing and wanted to compensate Zhuo Yifeng for past events. Monica subsequently subjected Su Nianfeng to intense pressure, invalidating her work and demanding she arrive at work two hours earlier, regardless of her late-night shifts. Despite Liu Zihui advising her to quit for her own well-being, Su Nianfeng persevered, though she had already drafted a resignation letter. When Su Nianfeng finally presented her resignation letter to Ouyang Yu, he interrupted her.

Instead, he revealed the company's new plan to research drugs for dilated cardiomyopathy, stating they needed research subjects and recalled that her friend (Le Diyin) would be suitable. He then offered her a significant role as the company's representative and Dr. Thomas's assistant in the project. Overjoyed by this opportunity to help Le Diyin and contribute to meaningful research, Su Nianfeng enthusiastically accepted, putting her resignation plans aside.

Su Nianfeng visited Le Diyin at the hospital to share the good news: he had been accepted as a research subject for Dr. Thomas's project. Le Diyin was delighted and grateful. Su Nianfeng mentioned that with the new demanding project, she intended to move closer to her office for convenience. Le Diyin approved, cautioning her to be careful when finding a place.

He then discreetly contacted Su Muyun, informing him about Su Nianfeng's plan to move and asking him to help her find a safe place. The following day, Su Muyun accompanied Su Nianfeng on her house hunt, offering her several options that appeared clean and surprisingly affordable, all under 2,000 yuan. Su Nianfeng, suspecting he might be secretly subsidizing the rent, decided to continue her search independently.

Noticing a tear in Su Nianfeng's clothes, Su Muyun insisted on buying her new clothes. After dropping her off, he called Qin Yao to join him at the mall for a shopping trip. Qin Yao questioned the awkwardness of two single, straight men shopping in a women's clothing store, but Su Muyun dismissed his concerns. Their attempts to find something suitable were unsuccessful, leading them even to a lingerie store, from which they quickly exited.

Exhausted and frustrated, Qin Yao suggested Su Muyun call Liu Zihui for advice on Su Nianfeng's preferences. Su Muyun quickly made the call, then despite Qin Yao's protests, dragged him to continue their fruitless search. At work, Su Nianfeng faced ridicule from colleagues about her torn clothes. Ouyang Yu witnessed this.

After work, he waited for her and insisted on taking her to a mall to buy new clothes, arguing that she needed formal attire to represent the company when meeting Dr. Thomas. Despite Su Nianfeng's initial reluctance due to the high prices, Ouyang Yu secretly instructed the sales assistant to give her a 70% discount, covering the rest himself.

Outside the mall, Monica and another woman observed Ouyang Yu and Su Nianfeng together, with Monica dismissing the "manipulative" girl and suggesting a "better guy" for her friend at an upcoming party. After their shopping trip, Ouyang Yu drove Su Nianfeng home, where they encountered Su Muyun at her doorstep. Ouyang Yu formally introduced himself to Su Muyun. After Ouyang Yu departed, Su Muyun confronted Su Nianfeng, sternly telling her not to associate with Ouyang Yu.

Su Nianfeng retorted that it was her freedom and none of his concern, then questioned what he was holding. Su Muyun dismissively called it "trash," placed the bag on a nearby surface, and walked away. Curious, Su Nianfeng approached the bag, opened it, and discovered it contained new clothes, realizing they were a gift from Su Muyun. Moments later, Su Muyun saw Ouyang Yu waiting for a car at the complex entrance.

He warned Ouyang Yu to stay away from Su Nianfeng, accusing the Ouyang family of causing enough harm to the Zhuo family. Ouyang Yu challenged him for proof, to which Su Muyun vowed to find it, asserting that he wouldn't let anyone hurt her. Ouyang Yu echoed the sentiment, stating he wouldn't let anyone harm her either.
