Distraught after learning of the Su family's alleged role in her parents' deaths, Su Nianfeng called Le Diyin, who was undergoing treatment in the United States. Hearing her crying, Le Diyin anxiously asked what was wrong. When Su Nianfeng struggled to articulate her feelings, Le Diyin advised her to calm down and speak when she was ready, reassuring her that he would always be by her side. That night, Su Muyun fell asleep by Su Nianfeng's bedside.
Su Nianfeng quietly packed a few belongings and left. The next morning, Muyun woke to find her gone and immediately called Liu Zihui and Qin Yao. Both confirmed Su Nianfeng had not contacted them, leaving Muyun deeply worried. Meanwhile, Ouyang Qingxue was playing "Grande valse brillante in E-flat major" at home, seemingly in a cheerful mood, until her brother Ouyang Yu approached and stopped her.
With a displeased expression, Ouyang Yu confronted his sister, revealing he knew what she had done. Ouyang Qingxue defended her actions, claiming she only wanted to kindly tell Su Nianfeng the truth, feeling pity for her being kept in the dark. Ouyang Yu retorted that her "truth" was nothing but a fake car accident certificate and an edited recording.
He reminded her that their family's low-price acquisition of the Zhuo Group years ago had ruined Su Nianfeng's family, making her the most innocent victim in the affair. Confused by his sister's repeated targeting of Su Nianfeng, Ouyang Yu pressed for a reason. Ouyang Qingxue revealed it was because Su Nianfeng had gotten close to someone she shouldn't have, and was now getting what she deserved. Later, Su Muyun encountered Ouyang Qingxue on campus.
She greeted him with a smile, but he pulled her into a quiet corner, demanding to know what she had told Su Nianfeng. Feigning innocence, Ouyang Qingxue claimed she only meant well but things went awry, and she never intended to hurt him. She then declared that it was impossible for him and Su Nianfeng to be together. Muyun coldly dismissed her, stating that it was his own business. Muyun's parents were also frantic over Su Nianfeng's disappearance.
Upon returning home, Muyun directly asked his parents if their family was responsible for Nianfeng's parents' deaths. His father immediately told him to stop spouting nonsense, while his mother insisted it was just an accident and urged him not to overthink it. Both parents stressed that finding Su Nianfeng was their priority. Muyun and Liu Zihui then began to search for her.
Meanwhile, Le Diyin, also deeply concerned, left a note for his father, explaining that he was returning to China for someone very important to him, feeling happy to be needed by her. Su Nianfeng, having found a new temporary residence, was startled by a spider. In the past, Muyun always killed spiders for her, but now she had to face it alone.
After a flashback to a childhood memory where Muyun and her parents teased her about her fear of spiders, she grabbed a book and swatted the table. Later, while preparing instant noodles, she got distracted and accidentally scalded her finger. Feeling utterly dejected, she sat down, crossed out "Su Nianfeng" in a notebook, and wrote down her birth name: Zhuo Yifeng.
Upon her return to school, the department director questioned her absence, informing her that her family was frantic and had filed a police report. Zhuo Yifeng apologized, explaining she had personal issues. She then informed the director of her decision to change her name back to Zhuo Yifeng, her birth name, and that she would handle the official procedures. Though surprised, the director gave her a leave application form.
As she exited the office, she encountered Ouyang Qingxue, who feigned concern. Zhuo Yifeng coldly walked past her. Ouyang Qingxue sought her out again, promising to keep her secret. However, Zhuo Yifeng, now aware of Qingxue's true nature, calmly told her she would be disappointed, as she was doing well and would only get better. Zhuo Yifeng then met Liu Zihui at a coffee shop.
Zihui noticed the leave application form bearing a different name and asked who Zhuo Yifeng was. Yifeng revealed it was her name before being adopted and that she intended to reclaim her true self. Liu Zihui expressed skepticism about the Su family's involvement in the car accident, especially since the information came from Ouyang Qingxue, whom she suspected of harboring ill intentions. Zhuo Yifeng admitted to some doubts but believed Qingxue wouldn't lie about something so significant.
Liu Zihui criticized her naivete, comparing Ouyang Qingxue to a "beautiful snake" rather than the "white moonlight" Yifeng perceived her to be. Zhuo Yifeng assured Zihui that she would not be deceived again. As they left the coffee shop, they unexpectedly ran into Qin Yao. Upon seeing Zhuo Yifeng, Qin Yao immediately called Muyun, who frantically rushed out of his lab to find her. Zhuo Yifeng was walking alone when she heard someone call her name.
She looked up to see Le Diyin. After a long separation, the two joyfully embraced. This heartfelt reunion was witnessed from a distance by Muyun, who had just arrived. He stood frozen, hurt washing over him. A delivery truck briefly blocked his view, and by the time it drove away, both Zhuo Yifeng and Le Diyin were gone. That evening, Zhuo Yifeng treated Le Diyin to hotpot.
She inquired about his illness, learning that he suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure, with a heart transplant being the only solution. His doctor had given a grim prognosis, and he feared he might not survive long enough to find a donor. Zhuo Yifeng, a medical student herself, comforted him, promising she would do everything in her power to help him survive.
After their meal, as she was leaving, Yifeng checked her phone and saw numerous voice messages from Su Muyun's mother. Listening to the familiar, affectionate voice, she was overcome with a quiet sadness.
