Jiang Sihan's mother, referred to as Auntie, initiated a conversation with Cheng Yu, expressing concern after she and her husband accidentally saw Cheng Mu's medication. Auntie asked if Cheng Mu had depression, assuring Cheng Yu that they were not old-fashioned and understood the pressures young people face. Cheng Yu confirmed that her brother had mild depression and panic disorder, but emphasized his condition was stable and promised Cheng Mu would never harm Jiang Sihan.

Auntie believed her and asked Cheng Yu to continue looking after Jiang Sihan, which Cheng Yu readily accepted. Later that evening, Jingyang, excited to deepen his relationship with Cheng Yu, tried to surprise her by placing an engagement ring on her finger while she slept. Cheng Yu woke up and made it clear she was content with their current arrangement.

Jingyang, feeling that Cheng Mu and Jiang Sihan were moving forward, pressed Cheng Yu for a proper commitment, frustrated by being her "secret boyfriend." Cheng Yu explained her hesitation, revealing her deep concern that if Jiang Sihan were to leave Cheng Mu for any reason, he would be left alone again, and she simply could not abandon him.

Feeling like a "toy" to Cheng Yu, humored when she was happy and cast aside when she was not, Jingyang gave her an ultimatum. When Cheng Yu left, he challenged Cheng Mu to meet him at a boxing gym. Drunk and full of resentment, Jingyang summoned Cheng Mu to the boxing gym. Cheng Mu was baffled by Jingyang's erratic behavior, but Jingyang, in his inebriated state, accused Cheng Mu of being selfish.

Jingyang revealed that Cheng Mu had once asked Cheng Yu to "stay single, don't date, don't get married, stay by my side forever," causing her to reject many over the years. Jingyang passionately argued that while everyone indulged Cheng Mu due to his illness, no one considered the feelings of others, especially Cheng Yu, who also lost her parents. After Jingyang passed out, Cheng Mu thoughtfully covered him with a jacket.

Reflecting on Jingyang's words, Cheng Mu realized the truth in them: losing their parents years ago had deeply impacted Cheng Yu too, forcing her to mature prematurely and bear the heavy burden of their family. The next day, Cheng Mu visited Cheng Yu, who had a bruised mouth from the encounter with Jingyang. The siblings had a long-overdue heart-to-heart.

Cheng Mu confessed that he had hated Cheng Yu as an eight-year-old when she went to boarding school, feeling abandoned and alone in the quiet house. Cheng Yu apologized for his past pain and promised she would "never abandon" him again. Cheng Mu expressed deep regret for having burdened her and making her feel obligated to sacrifice her own happiness, even bringing her to tears about breaking up with someone she liked.

He urged her to pursue her feelings for Jingyang, even if it meant "dumping him in the future." As a gesture of his support, he offered her a cake he had made, aptly named "Coexist." Meanwhile, Jiang Sihan, checking on Cheng Mu late at night, found him icing his injured mouth. Concerned, she asked to stay with him, and he agreed. The following morning, Jiang Sihan's parents were astonished to see their daughter emerge from Cheng Mu's room.

Her mother immediately interrogated her, but Jiang Sihan, flustered and embarrassed, struggled to explain, eventually blurting out that they "just slept together," which only further inflamed her mother's anger. Her father quickly intervened to de-escalate the situation. Later, Jingyang woke up in the boxing gym to a flurry of messages from colleagues congratulating him on "getting the cold, domineering CEO so quickly." Overjoyed, he discovered a selfie with Cheng Yu posted on "Yu's Moments," confirming their reconciliation.

Jiang Sihan called Cheng Mu, complaining about her embarrassment in front of her parents and playfully urging Cheng Mu to "beat up" Jingyang again for injuring his handsome face. Jingyang then arrived at Cheng Mu's dessert shop to apologize for his drunken behavior and selfishness. Cheng Mu accepted the apology, stating it was for his sister's sake, and playfully allowed Jingyang to give him a light punch, declaring the score settled.

Cheng Mu then solemnly entrusted Cheng Yu to Jingyang's care, telling him not to hurt her or make her sad. Jingyang, eager to be called "Brother-in-law," promised to treat Cheng Yu well. Cheng Mu then humorously reminded Jingyang about his "saved money," advising him not to hide it when he proposed to Cheng Yu. At home, Jiang Sihan's parents expressed concern over her unkempt habits.

Her father, while cleaning, found her financial statements, realizing how "frugal" she had been living, despite telling them she was doing well. Jiang Sihan tearfully confessed that she had actually quit her accounting job a long time ago and was working as a food blogger, admitting she had lied because she feared their disapproval. To her surprise, her parents revealed they already knew, having seen her social media account.

Cheng Mu then spoke up, passionately defending Jiang Sihan's choice, explaining how her eyes lit up when she talked about her work and how it gave her a "sense of accomplishment," much like his own journey with his dessert business. He argued that in their city, people would not starve regardless of their profession, and it was better to pursue what one loved than to live for "others' eyes" or "material things" at the cost of one's true self.

Moved by his words and their daughter's passion, Jiang Sihan's parents apologized for their inexperience as parents, admitting they had neglected her feelings in their attempt to give her the best. They gave her a new laptop, promising to provide "necessities" for her chosen path, though they did warn her that if blogging didn't work out, she would still need to find a stable job.

That evening, Jiang Sihan's mother playfully doted on Cheng Mu, calling him the most important and joking about wishing he was her son instead. Though Jiang Sihan was slightly miffed, the family shared a warm meal. Her parents announced they had booked tickets to leave the next day, explaining they missed their old neighbors. Despite Jiang Sihan's pleas for them to stay, they encouraged her and Cheng Mu to visit them often.

Jiang Sihan tearfully hugged her mother, who playfully suggested she could just come home with them, to which Jiang Sihan replied she preferred to visit. Her father remarked that they should start preparing her "dowry," signaling their full acceptance of her future. They all raised their cups, toasting to successful careers and good health for everyone.
