Jiang Sihan's mother, referred to as Auntie, initiated a conversation with Cheng Yu, expressing concern after she and her husband accidentally saw Cheng Mu's medication. Cheng Yu confirmed that her brother had mild depression and panic disorder, but emphasized his condition was stable and promised Cheng Mu would never harm Jiang Sihan.
Auntie believed her and asked Cheng Yu to continue looking after Jiang Sihan, which Cheng Yu readily accepted. Later that evening, Jingyang, excited to deepen his relationship with Cheng Yu, tried to surprise her by placing an engagement ring on her finger while she slept.
