Qiong Qi arrived at the desolate Mount Buzhou and encountered a frail elder of his own kind. The old man, who had spent years in hiding to escape human persecution, lamented being the last of his clan and having forgotten even his own name over the centuries. When Qiong Qi revealed his identity as the Qiong Qi King, the elder was overcome with emotion, realizing he was no longer the final survivor of their race.

This profound relief was his final act; he passed away in Qiong Qi's arms, his body transforming into the Kunlun Mirror fragment representing "Old." Just as Qiong Qi secured the shard, human forces surrounded him. While Heiwu remained hidden in the shadows, Ji Yan feigned death to avoid the dangerous fray. Although Qiong Qi initially held the upper hand against Bing Zhu, the situation shifted when Lu Pianpian joined the struggle.

Despite being an ancient beast, Qiong Qi was ultimately a straightforward warrior and was overwhelmed by their combined strength. After Qiong Qi's death, Lu Pianpian handed the mirror fragment to Bing Zhu. Bing Zhu then presented Lu Pianpian with a wooden statue he had carved for her, but she sensed that he still harbored affection for her former self, noting that he had not called her "Pianpian" since her heart was changed.

She urged him to consume Qiong Qi’s heart to absorb his cultivation, arguing that even the human emperor's elixirs were nothing compared to the power of an ancient demon. Bing Zhu hesitated, questioning whether such a brutal act would make him more demon than human, but Lu Pianpian insisted he must become stronger so she would never lose him.

Driven by her second wish, Bing Zhu absorbed the power, causing demon marks to appear on his face as he wept for the path he was taking. Heiwu, witnessing the scene, was too terrified to move. Meanwhile, Xiao Yao and Hong Ye returned to the seaside, finding the beach and waves unchanged from ten thousand years ago.

Hong Ye reflected on his past with a heavy heart, acknowledging that despite his human nature, he had been the source of the long-standing war between their races because of the Yuli Spring. Xiao Yao comforted him, noting that his millennia of atonement had repaid his debt to the demon race. Amidst their conversation, the Dragon Essence Pearl emerged, which Hong Ye identified as the fragment representing "Life."

Teng She arrived at Mount Fajiu only to find it ravaged by a devastating plague. He learned from a dying woman that the villagers had mistakenly consumed the flesh of a fallen member of the Teng She clan, inviting a curse upon themselves. Despite his anger toward the humans for eating his kin, Teng She was moved by the mother’s plea to save her innocent child, who had not partaken in the meal.

After being called a "good demon," he rescued the boy and discovered the "Sickness" fragment nearby. Lu Pianpian and Bing Zhu soon confronted him, with Lu Pianpian arguing that it would be more merciful to let the child die in such a cruel world. Teng She fought desperately to protect the infant, managing to send the boy to safety before he was struck down.

Though Lu Pianpian felt a flicker of pity for Teng She, Bing Zhu ruthlessly absorbed his power to ensure their enemies were eliminated. Back at the Valley of Demons, Heiwu remained determined to rebuild his empire. Xiao Yao and Hong Ye were the first to return, but the others were missing. While searching for his companions, Ao Hen encountered Lu Pianpian disguised as Teng She.

He quickly realized his friend had been murdered and, in a fit of rage, unleashed his full power. However, Bing Zhu, having already consumed two ancient beasts, was far too powerful and severely wounded Ao Hen. In a desperate final move, Ao Hen used a mirror fragment to lure Bing Zhu close for a suicide strike. Lu Pianpian saw the danger and threw herself in front of Bing Zhu, taking the fatal blow and suffering a shattered heart.

As Lu Pianpian lay dying, she expressed relief that the constant pain in her chest was finally fading. She shared her final wish: for Bing Zhu to be reunited with his sister, Tan'er. Bing Zhu was left stunned as she slipped into unconsciousness. He entrusted Lu Pianpian to Tan'er's care and absorbed Ao Hen's power, determined to seize the Yuli Spring to save her life. He began to provoke Hong Ye from outside the valley’s barrier, threatening to destroy everything.

Xiao Yao, fearing for Hong Ye's safety, urged him to wait for their allies, but Hong Ye had already realized the grim truth—Bing Zhu had grown strong by devouring their friends. Knowing this battle was his destiny, Hong Ye shared a final kiss with Xiao Yao before stepping out. Bing Zhu, eager for a fight that would not be interrupted, prepared for their ultimate confrontation.
