Xiao Ming explains the secret of the Heavenly Mother recorded on the Sky Stone. To restore her magic, she used the Heart-Burning Incantation to trigger the Time-Reversal Array, returning to the dawn of creation to retrieve her primordial spirit from her younger self. However, the stone only shows her entering the array; whether she successfully returned remains a mystery. Hong Ye notes the technique's extreme danger: travelers usually revert to an infant state, losing all memories and power.
While this renders the art useless for ordinary humans or demons, Xiao Yao realizes that as a being of both human and demon blood, she exists outside the Six Realms and can enter the array with her physical form intact. Though Xiao Yao is curious about seeing a younger Hong Ye and the legendary Princess Ning’an, Hong Ye initially refuses, fearing she may be lost in time or hurt by the secrets of his past.
Seeking answers, Xiao Yao reads a human novel to uncover Hong Ye’s history. Meanwhile, in the human realm, the Emperor orders a total war against the demon realm to mask his own selfish desires. Lu Pianpian, now fully inhabiting her role as the Dreamshard Immortal, mocks Bing Zhu for his lingering mercy.
When Bing Zhu argues that he possesses "heart and eyes" to see that not all demons are evil, Lu Pianpian cruelly reminds him that his past hesitation cost him the original Lu Pianpian. Outside, the Feiyu Guards are in a panic; the Emperor has given them only one month to exterminate the demons or face execution.
Desperate to survive and gain the power to win, the guards beg Lu Pianpian to perform a heart-swap ritual, choosing to become demons themselves rather than die as humans. Elsewhere, the villainous Heiwu plots his next move. He travels to Yunmeng Lake and deceives the ancient guardian, Demon Venerable Daimao, by pretending to carry the Demon King’s orders.
He drugs the lonely guardian with wine laced with toad venom, tricking him into revealing the keys to the ancient seal: Celestial Water, Underground Fire, and heart blood. Once the seal is broken, three ancient great demons—Qiongqi, Tengshe, and Ao Hen—are unleashed. Though Heiwu tries to command them, the trio quickly puts the "little bat" in his place.
Learning that Hong Ye is the current Demon King, the three ancient entities set out for the valley to settle a ten-thousand-year-old grudge. As the threat looms, Hong Ye finally agrees to let Xiao Yao use the Time-Reversal Array, primarily to send her to safety before the ancient demons arrive. Xiao Ming warns that he can open the portal but cannot control where or when she will land. Xiao Yao, determined to save Hong Ye, enters the ritual.
While drifting through the temporal void, she encounters a vision of the Heavenly Mother, who tells her that primordial spirits are shaped by love and hate. To restore Hong Ye’s power, Xiao Yao must collect a single "tear-essence" from him in the past. As the three ancient demons descend upon the valley, Hong Ye stays behind to hold them off alone, urging Xiao Ming to focus on the transport.
Xiao Yao eventually loses consciousness and wakes up in a luxurious palace. Looking in the mirror, she sees her own face but finds herself dressed in imperial robes. A maid enters and addresses her as "Your Highness," confirming that she has successfully traveled back one hundred years and is now living the life of Princess Ning’an.
