Xiao Yao patiently applies medicine to Hong Ye’s wounds, her heart aching as she asks why he keeps getting hurt. Hong Ye attempts to dismiss his injuries as a simple accident in the bamboo grove, but Xiao Yao reveals she already knows the truth after speaking with Luoluo. His pale face betrays his weakness, yet he stubbornly insists he can handle it, claiming that as the Demon Lord, he cannot let his people worry.

Xiao Yao is frustrated by his pride, arguing that his lingering injuries will eventually become a great burden and that his survival is essential for the demon race. When Hong Ye insists on doing things his way to avoid the guilt of her risking her life for him, a hurt Xiao Yao tells him to leave. Seeking a way to mend the situation, Hong Ye wakes Xiao Ming.

While the studious Xiao Mu suggests physical distractions like hunting or cultivation to relieve depression, the more sentimental Xiao Ming offers a different perspective. Having secretly read human plays, Xiao Ming explains that love is about supporting each other and sharing responsibilities rather than acting alone. Hong Ye begins to realize that his attempts to protect Xiao Yao by shutting her out were actually hurting her more than the truth.

Seeking to resolve internal threats, Xiao Yao challenges Wu Huan to a duel. She offers him freedom if he wins, but he must submit to her if he loses. To Wu Huan's surprise, Xiao Yao’s spiritual power has grown significantly, and she quickly defeats him. She reprimands him for using his power to harm fellow demons and reminds him that Hong Ye remains the Demon Lord because of his dedication to protecting his people.

She urges him to let go of his obsession and stop providing amusement for humans who enjoy watching demons kill one another. Later, Xiao Ming explains to Xiao Yao that Hong Ye’s heart meridian is damaged, preventing him from accessing the spiritual power still trapped within his body. However, the ancient demon texts are fragmented and difficult to piece together. Xiao Yao encourages him before returning home, where she finds Hong Ye waiting by her door.

He sincerely apologizes, admitting that losing his power made him anxious and that he fell back on a century-long habit of shouldering everything alone. He confesses his fear of her getting hurt, but Xiao Yao insists that as a couple, they must face the world together. They reconcile, their bond strengthened by newfound honesty. Their peace is short-lived as a meteor shower streaks across the sky.

While Xiao Yao admires the beauty, Hong Ye senses a dark omen; the Revelation Star has shifted, signaling a great catastrophe. Elsewhere, Bing Zhu also observes the celestial shift and prepares his men for tougher demons. During a hunt, Bing Zhu struggles against a fierce mountain demon, but Lu Pianpian secretly intervenes and kills the beast from the shadows. Bing Zhu takes the credit and presents the captured demon to the Emperor.

The Emperor, desperate for elixirs to prolong his life, grows increasingly irritable over the slow progress in finding the "Immortal Lord," forcing Bing Zhu to carefully navigate the sovereign's frantic demands. Back at the estate, Bing Zhu brushes Lu Pianpian’s hair, but the atmosphere remains cold. Lu Pianpian reveals the grim reality of her existence as a Mei; without consuming human hearts, she will age rapidly.

Haunted by the influence of the Exquisite Crystal Heart, she begs Bing Zhu and Tan'er to kill her while she still possesses her sanity, wishing to be remembered as Lu Pianpian rather than a cold-blooded spirit. Meanwhile, Ji Yan witnesses Lu Pianpian acting as the "Immortal Lord." Exploiting Heiwu’s greed, Ji Yan lures him to the palace under the guise of convincing the Emperor to recognize Heiwu as the new Demon King.

Instead, Ji Yan tricks Heiwu into a demon-refining furnace. Heiwu realizes the betrayal too late as the flames begin to refine his essence. Xiao Ming finally finds a breakthrough in the ancient texts regarding the Heart-Burning Incantation used by the Heavenly Mother. He discovers that the Sky Stone, formed during the Mother’s seal, can restore Hong Ye’s power. The stone was last seen at the West Coast, a treacherous region guarded by the greedy Treasure Swallower.

Despite the dangers of scaled dragons and storms, Xiao Yao is determined to go. Wu Huan, moved by Hong Ye’s mercy and his honesty about his own weakness, pledges his loyalty and offers to carry them to the West Coast. Hong Ye chooses to trust him, believing that an honest leader should be open about his vulnerabilities. As they prepare to depart, Luoluo brings food for the long journey, and the group sets out for the West Coast.
