> Resumos de Love Beyond the Grave
He Simu woke up in the Zhaomu Pavilion, her spirit power severely depleted following her punishment. Yan Ke remained by her side, but his care was a mask for imprisonment. He had placed a restrictive barrier around her bedchamber—a secret technique he developed in the North Abyss. He mocked her weakened state, explaining that the formation would drain any spirit power she tried to restore, keeping her at her lowest limit and unable to leave the room.
He declared that while she never wanted to be the Sovereign, he would take the title himself and make her his Queen so they could rule the Void together forever. At the morning assembly, Yan Ke moved to consolidate his power by framing the Left Chancellor, Jiang Ai. He produced reports of massive financial discrepancies in the North Abyss projects, accusing her of embezzling funds into her personal accounts.
Despite Jiang Ai’s insistence that she would only yield to a clear written mandate from the Sovereign, Yan Ke forged an oral decree. He claimed He Simu was entering a five-year seclusion and had revoked Jiang Ai’s authority, appointing him to govern the Void in her stead. When Jiang Ai attempted to see He Simu, she found the pavilion guarded and realized Yan Ke had staged a coup.
Though Yan Ke ordered a search of the Xuling Temple, the clever Jiang Ai had already emptied the premises. To further his vision of a "free" Void where the strong prevail, Yan Ke abolished the curfew. This led to immediate turmoil as spirits began fighting one another without restraint, abandoning the laws of the former Sovereign. Amidst the chaos, Jiang Ai sought out Bai Sanxing. Using the control bracelet He Simu had prepared, she confronted him.
Although Bai Sanxing remained hostile, Jiang Ai could not bring herself to kill him. She informed him that He Simu had chosen to spare his life and urged him to value this second chance. In the Mortal World, Han Lingqiu decided to resign from his military post. As he prepared to leave, Commandant Wu and his comrades expressed their regret.
Duan Xu saw his friend off, encouraging Han Lingqiu to find his own path and remain loyal to his own heart. He admitted that the pain of self-reflection and the struggle to choose one's destiny were trials he had faced himself, but they were necessary steps toward a new life. Over the following months, Duan Xu threw himself into the war with reckless abandon. He successfully reclaimed Jingzhou and Qizhou, even slaying the lead general of the Fenglai forces.
For his victories, the Emperor granted him the title of Marquis of Ningyi. Despite his rising status, Duan Xu was consumed by worry as he could no longer reach He Simu through their connection. Meanwhile, in the Void, Yan Ke grew enraged by He Simu’s lingering feelings for the mortal and destroyed the gifts Duan Xu had given her. Yan Ke eventually traveled to the Mortal World to eliminate his rival, finding Duan Xu wounded after a battle.
However, as Yan Ke struck, he was repelled by the power of the Deliverance Sword. Before he could try again, Fengyi, the Starhaven Lord, arrived to intervene. Although physically frail, Fengyi’s presence and his rebuke of the evil spirit forced Yan Ke to retreat back to the Void. Following the encounter, Ziji and Duan Xu moved the unconscious Fengyi to safety.
When Fengyi awoke, he eased Duan Xu’s fears by lying that He Simu was merely occupied with the overwhelming affairs of the Void. He claimed he had come on her orders to protect the General. Privately, Ziji urged Fengyi to focus on his own recovery, but he insisted on fulfilling the task He Simu had entrusted to him.
He observed that the lack of response from the Sovereign’s Pearl and the unrest among spirits signaled the arrival of a "Great Calamity" foretold in ancient texts, making it his duty to intervene. Back at the Zhaomu Pavilion, Yan Ke boasted to He Simu about his attempt on Duan Xu’s life, claiming the mortal was broken and would not live long. He Simu remained unimpressed, pointing out that his "love" was nothing more than a series of traps.
She saw through his facade, telling him that he was born of a thirst for rank and that his true obsession was not her heart, but the pursuit of supreme power. Undeterred, Yan Ke vowed to wait for as long as it took for her to watch the mortal die and finally forget him.
