At the polo field, the atmosphere was electric as Duan Xu and his team competed. Xia Qingsheng, watching from the sidelines, took the opportunity to express his feelings to Meng Wan. Though caught off guard, Meng Wan didn't reject him, merely asking him to wait until the match concluded. Meanwhile, a sudden disturbance erupted when a horse grew startled and charged toward the crowd, heading straight for Duan Xu’s sister, Jingyuan.

Fang Xianye, a scholar, instinctively rushed to shield her, though he was no match for a stampeding horse. He Simu intervened just in time to stop the animal, leaving both Jingyuan and Fang Xianye with minor hand injuries. When He Simu went to retrieve medicine, she was beaten to it by Wang Qi, a dissolute nobleman. Wang Qi used the moment to press his presence on Jingyuan, but Fang Xianye stepped in to help her dismiss him.

Observing the interaction, He Simu teased Jingyuan about Fang Xianye’s clear affection for her, noting that no ordinary scholar would risk his life so recklessly unless his heart were truly committed. Elsewhere, the fate of the North Chong priesthood took a dark turn. After being subjected to humiliation and exile, Lu Da found himself approached by Yan Ke.

Yan Ke forcibly infused Lu Da with spirit power, manipulating the young man’s desperation and buried desire for power to ensure he would ascend to the position of High Priest. Meanwhile, in the capital, Wang Jin’s secret identity as a prince was revealed. Through his strategic maneuvering, Luoxian was granted the title of Commandery Princess and prepared to depart for Yunluo alongside Fang Xianye.

With Duan Xu also preparing for the upcoming military campaign, the safety of Nandu was placed in Wang Jin’s hands. Jingyuan’s day took a sinister turn after she left to purchase a sachet; she was kidnapped by Wang Qi. Held captive, she listened as Wang Qi spewed his grievances, claiming the Duan family owed him for his sister's disappearance and demanding she marry him to save face.

He began to make forced advances, but his assault was cut short by the arrival of He Simu. Using her spirit power, He Simu cast Wang Qi into a terrifying ten-day illusion, forcing him to face the spectral forms of the women he had previously harmed. Though Jingyuan intervened to spare his life, the trauma was set.

Once Jingyuan was safely returned to the Duan manor, she confronted Duan Xu, finally learning the truth of He Simu’s identity as a Spirit. Duan Xu later sought out He Simu to thank her for rescuing his sister. The two shared a quiet, intimate moment, with He Simu admitting she had sensed Jingyuan’s presence in a place she would never normally visit.

As they spoke, He Simu announced that she had to return to the Void to attend to her duties, having been away for too long. Duan Xu, who was planning to mobilize troops in three days, asked for her counsel. He Simu suggested Shenzhou, noting its rugged terrain and volatile inhabitants—a place where feuds ran deep and families were perpetually at odds.

Duan Xu agreed and asked her to remain by his side for the final three days before his departure. Throughout their conversation, the weight of their unconventional love hung heavy, with Duan Xu pleading for her to remember him for another hundred years, even as he playfully acknowledged his own tendency to act pitiful to win her heart.
