Qiao Anhao felt disheartened, but then the store clerk revealed that the gift Huang Xiaojie had purchased was returned because her boyfriend did not accept it. This revelation made Qiao Anhao realize she had misunderstood Lu Jinnian.
She quickly excused herself from Zhao Meng, telling her to return to Ronghai on her own, and immediately called Lu Jinnian. They arranged to meet by the sea, where Qiao Anhao closed her eyes, letting the refreshing breeze flow through her hair, while Lu Jinnian watched her with a serene smile. Three years swiftly passed, and another summer vacation arrived. Han Ruchu, Xu Jia Mu's mother, was determined to groom her son, Xu Jia Mu, to manage the Han Group.
However, Xu Jia Mu showed no interest in the company, always making excuses like a stomachache to avoid meetings. Han Ruchu chastised him for his lack of commitment, stressing that he would soon be a senior in college and she worried about handing over the company to him, to which he retorted that the company was "not my company, not my responsibility."
She also criticized his gaming, saying that despite winning competitions, it wasn't a "proper job," but he insisted a proper job wasn't for him. Meanwhile, Qiao Anhao's aunt also voiced her disapproval of Qiao Anhao's acting career, urging her to quit because the industry was complicated and the family didn't lack money. I also believe that my hard work will bring me success." One day, Xu Jia Mu was stunned to see Song Xiangsi, now an actress, appearing alongside Lu Jinnian in a drama on TV. He noted she was still wearing the ring he gave her, questioning her affections. She dismissed him, asserting it was "none of your business" and asking him to let go. He taunted her, suggesting she was worried her "sponsor will see and take away your role." Song Xiangsi affirmed this, coldly telling him to keep his distance, before walking away. Elsewhere, Xu Niande's company faced significant capital flow issues, causing concern for Han Ruchu.
She proposed a solution: publicly announcing a marriage alliance with the Qiao family, believing it could attract investors and restore confidence in their financial strength. Despite Xu Niande's reservations about rushing into a marriage, Han Ruchu was convinced that Xu Jia Mu and Qiao Anhao, having grown up together, were a perfect match. She decided to discreetly approach Qiao Anhao's aunt, Lan Qing, to gauge her reaction, with the intention of arranging the marriage as soon as they graduated.
At the same time, Qiao Anhao confided her feelings for Lu Jinnian to a stranger online, expressing her dilemma: "If I don't confess my feelings, I may never get another chance. But if I say it, it's possible we can't even be friends anymore. We'll just be strangers who know each other very well." Covered in suds, she called out to Lu Jinnian, asking him to bring her some clean clothes. He, blushing, discreetly passed a towel through the bathroom door. Earlier, Lu Jinnian had taken a call from his manager, Shen Ming Zhe, who was frantic about his sudden departure from set with four scenes remaining.
