She couldn't understand why he wanted a divorce and felt she couldn't compare to Pan Yue, vowing never to admit defeat to a "crazy lady." Later, Gao Hui was walking home, preoccupied with thoughts of Yu Yi, believing he was the only one who truly cared for her. She spotted Yu Yi being harassed by a group of men.
Remembering him hitting their elder brother, the men intended to beat him. Gao Hui immediately intervened, hitting one of the men with her high heel. Yu Yi, who was intoxicated, pulled her away, and they ran until Gao Hui became dizzy. Yu Yi, feeling worthless and defeated, told her there was no need for her to come to him anymore.
Gao Hui, tearfully, confessed she had been missing him, eating seafood porridge alone and visiting their usual bar, hoping to see him. Yu Yi admitted he had his pride and wouldn't always be her backup. As he turned to leave, Gao Hui embraced him, finally realizing her deep feelings. Yu Yi then kissed her. Meanwhile, Yu Zhi visited his grandmother, who was recovering in the hospital.
The doctor explained that her lack of appetite was due to depression over the company's misfortune, as there was no serious physical ailment. Yu Zhi apologized, admitting that while he had raised some capital, it wasn't enough to redeem their equity, making it impossible to reclaim Rui Hua anytime soon. His grandmother comforted him, saying he shouldn't blame himself. She believed that as long as their family remained strong, Rui Hua's spirit would endure.
Yu Zhi then announced his decision to start a new business, emphasizing that Rui Hua could be reborn as long as they were there. He asked Yu Yi to join his team, but Yu Yi requested time to consider the offer. Yu Zhi returned to the Custom Order shop, only to find it completely vandalized. The three master craftsmen were outside, sadly looking at the "Fancy Rui Hua" sign. They informed Yu Zhi they had retired with a good package.
To Yu Zhi's surprise and delight, they expressed their desire to join him in his new venture, even suggesting he recruit Gao Jie as a designer. Yu Zhi acknowledged the need for a designer but had someone else in mind. He went back to Yu Yi, who was hesitant about joining the new business, asking if Yu Zhi had even picked a name yet. Yu Zhi replied he was waiting for Yu Yi to decide with him.
Yu Yi then offered to drive Yu Zhi to the airport, reminding him that planes don't wait. Yu Zhi flew to Southeast Asia, determined to find sought-after sapphires for his new business. As he walked by, he overheard some girls excitedly discussing winning a diamond at a bar, which made him recall his first meeting with Gao Jie, also at a bar.
Later, Yu Zhi met Abbott, who informed him that the sapphires he had selected at the Trade Center had been purchased by a lady with priority, who had offered very profitable terms. Given his limited funds, Yu Zhi decided to go directly to the mining fields for rough stones, a risky endeavor, but he assured Yu Yi over the phone he would be cautious.
He then tried to call Gao Jie but couldn't get through, realizing she might have blocked him. (He had previously called Yan Kai, who was attempting to get information from Chen Pinzhen about Gao Jie's whereabouts. ) Unbeknownst to Yu Zhi, Gao Jie was staying in the room next to him.
She was on the phone with Si Cheng, explaining that she had successfully secured purchase priority from President Lei and had chosen a blue sapphire with good purity and color, which she would acquire the following day. Meanwhile, Yu Yi went to pick up Gao Hui from Fancy Rui Hua, where she was staying late due to her designs being repeatedly rejected.
He encouraged her to quit and join his budding company, but Gao Hui sadly replied that she couldn't resign. Mu Ziyun then approached them, warning Gao Hui about her design deadline and threatening to bring in Wu Xiaoci if she failed. Yu Yi sensed that Mu Ziyun had some leverage over Gao Hui, but Gao Hui denied it. Later that night, Wu Xiaoci confronted Gao Hui for coming home late and neglecting to open her own studio.
Gao Hui, frustrated, lashed out, accusing her mother of plagiarizing Pan Yue's design years ago, which was the reason she felt trapped at Fancy Rui Hua now. Wu Xiaoci tried to deny it, but Gao Hui revealed that Mu Ziyun had a voice recording of her father admitting to the plagiarism. Wu Xiaoci was stunned, realizing her husband had betrayed her.
Gao Hui, exhausted by the family drama and the truth, declared she didn't want to hear any more explanations and was utterly disillusioned with her fractured family. Wu Xiaoci, devastated and furious, vowed revenge on Mu Ziyun. The next day, Abbott drove Yu Zhi to the mines. Abbott excitedly revealed that the mysterious premium buyer was a young Chinese lady working for a Mr. Lei.
Yu Zhi quickly surmised it was Lei Xiangdong's associate, Miss Gao, realizing it must be Gao Jie. Learning she was flying back that day, Yu Zhi urgently asked Abbott to take him to the airport. However, their car broke down on the way, and they were stranded without signal. Fortuitously, Gao Jie's car passed by, and she offered them a ride.
She explained to Si Cheng over the phone that President Lei had unexpectedly changed his mind, requiring an irregular gem that was only available at the mines. Si Cheng, worried, promised to meet her as soon as he finished his work. As they drove, Abbott pointed out a magnificent "Tree of Life" outside the window. Yu Zhi smiled, finding solace in its sight, while Gao Jie remained somber.
Upon arriving at the mining area, Yu Zhi was struck by the stringent security. Abbott advised him to travel with Gao Jie. The host announced the exhibition and auction of gems, including a special heart-shaped sapphire. Gao Jie declared she was there specifically for that gem and was prepared for any competition, a sentiment Yu Zhi echoed.
Yu Zhi playfully followed Gao Jie, trying to invite her to a "work meal," suggesting they could be partners since he sought cost-effective gems while she was on a direct purchase for President Lei. Gao Jie rebuffed his advances, reminding him of their past distrust and asking him to keep his distance, specifically telling him not to follow her to the exhibition area.
Meanwhile, Yu Yi met with Mu Ziyun and General Manager Ju, offering to transfer all his remaining equity. Mu Ziyun accused him of being reckless, but Yu Yi threatened to sell his shares to Fancy's competitors, who were also seeking partnerships. General Manager Ju, concerned, agreed to hear Yu Yi out. Yu Yi then stated his condition: Fancy Rui Hua must terminate Gao Hui's contract.
Mu Ziyun initially protested, but Yu Yi argued that Gao Hui was just another designer to General Manager Ju, implying Mu Ziyun's attachment was personal. General Manager Ju agreed to Yu Yi's terms, promising to end Gao Hui's contract after the acquisition. Yu Yi joyfully called Gao Hui to inform her that her contract would be terminated, granting her freedom from Fancy Rui Hua. Gao Hui was surprised and asked how he achieved this.
Yu Yi explained he traded the Yu family's remaining shares to General Manager Ju for her contract. Gao Hui worried about his future, but Yu Yi explained it was his grandmother's idea – a strategic move. Since reclaiming Rui Hua was unrealistic, they could use the proceeds from the shares to start anew and potentially achieve something greater. Gao Hui, touched, admitted she preferred the "unreasonable" reason that he simply loved her.
Yu Yi confessed that since he fell in love with her, she had always taken precedence over his usual rationality. Later, on a deserted street at night, Gao Jie was accosted by a drunk homeless man. She shouted for help, and Yu Zhi, appearing out of nowhere, intervened and chased the man away. Gao Jie, maintaining her independence, declined his offer to walk her back, asserting her ability to protect herself. However, Yu Zhi noticed she had injured her foot.
He gently pulled her along to a nearby bench, sat her down, and massaged her ankle. Yu Zhi apologized for all the wrongs he had done, hoping for a chance to make amends. Gao Jie, her heart heavy, confessed that she truly wished to forget the past, but seeing him always brought her immense pain, and she pleaded for him to keep his distance. As she spoke, tears streamed down her face.
Abbott later spoke with Gao Jie, mentioning Yu Zhi's attempt to find her at the airport and remarking on their fated connection. He also revealed Yu Zhi's difficulties and asked her to help him identify gemstones. At the public auction for the heart-shaped sapphire, as Gao Jie prepared to place her bid, Yu Zhi suddenly appeared.
He advised her to intentionally inflate her bid in the first round to deter competitors with limited budgets, thus enabling her to secure the sapphire within her own budget later. Following his unconventional strategy, Gao Jie successfully acquired the coveted heart-shaped sapphire. Yu Zhi then invited her to dinner, but Gao Jie instinctively stepped back. He quickly apologized, and in a gesture of goodwill, she offered to help him identify gemstones, choosing several small diamonds, which Yu Zhi trusted her to select.
