Gao Jie tried to subtly set up Chen Pinzhen with Yan Kai, playfully telling her that Yan Kai, as another single person, would be her companion at the engagement party. Chen Pinzhen, however, told Gao Jie to mind her own business. At a tea house, Mu Ziyun spoke on the phone with General Manager Ju Siying. She confirmed that the equity transfer contract would be finalized that night, and once it was, Fancy would become Rui Hua's new owner.
General Manager Ju congratulated Mu Ziyun, anticipating her as Rui Hua's new chairwoman, and Mu Ziyun expressed her eagerness to work together. Zhao Yue then questioned Mu Ziyun's decision, reminding her that she regarded Gao Jie as a daughter and that no mother treats her daughter this way.
Mu Ziyun retorted that no one understood the Yu family better than she did, believing that if Yu Zhi learned of her relationship with Gao Jie, he would not treat Gao Jie well. She felt it was better to make a decision for Gao Jie now to spare her future suffering, suggesting Gao Jie could find someone better.
Zhao Yue then advised Mu Ziyun to be wary of Ju Siying, fearing that after using her to acquire Rui Hua, Ju Siying might cast her aside. Mu Ziyun confidently stated that she had her own plans, noting that in business, there are no eternal enemies, only common interests, and that her main objective was simply to change Rui Hua's ownership. Yu Zhi was working out intensely at a climbing gym when Yan Kai urged him to come down. Meanwhile, Gao Hui anticipated the evening, looking forward to exposing Gao Jie, whom she called her "good older sister," and seeing her despair as compensation for recent humiliations. Gao Hai, preparing for the engagement banquet, sincerely hoped for Gao Jie's happiness. Wu Xiaoci angrily found Gao Hai with Gao Jie's invitation, forbidding him from attending. Mu Ziyun reassured her that everything had been reviewed and nothing would go wrong, emphasizing the importance of Rui Hua's 40th anniversary and Yu Zhi's big day. Gao Jie thanked Mu Ziyun for her hard work.
As Gao Jie was getting her makeup touched up, she accidentally knocked over and broke two pairs of dolls, which symbolized happiness. She felt a bad premonition, though Chen Pinzhen tried to reassure her by saying it meant "peace by peace." Yan Kai then knocked on the door, asking to speak with Chen Pinzhen. As Mu Ziyun handed Gao Jie an equity transfer contract to sign, Yu Zhi quietly approached the door.
He saw Gao Jie sign the document, his heart breaking, and he left without hearing Gao Jie's subsequent request for Mu Ziyun to quickly transfer the shares back to her once her difficulties were resolved, fearing what his grandmother and Yu Zhi would think if it took too long. Mu Ziyun reassured Gao Jie that she would handle it. Gao Hai arrived at the banquet, looking nervous. Yu Yi greeted him, then saw Gao Hui from behind.
Gao Hui had gone backstage, falsely claiming to be Mu Ziyun's assistant, to get the evening's schedule. Her intention was to reveal Gao Jie and Mu Ziyun's relationship to Yu Zhi. When Yu Yi later spoke to her, he expressed surprise that she had come, given the circumstances. Gao Hui, however, appeared calm and unaffected, stating that if her father could come, so could she, leaving Yu Yi puzzled. Yu Zhi and Gao Jie met, both looking uneasy.
Gao Jie noted Yu Zhi's somber expression and asked if he was nervous. Yu Zhi replied that he might just be tired. Gao Jie then inquired about what happened that morning. Yu Zhi confessed he "regretted it," causing Gao Jie to tense up. He then clarified, saying he regretted not getting engaged to her sooner. He emphasized that as they would be one family, there should be no more secrets, as she was his lifelong love and first choice.
He then asked if she had anything to tell him before the banquet started. Gao Jie's body stiffened, but she simply said, "I don't." Yu Zhi's heart sank, and he told her to rest well and that he would see her at the banquet hall. The evening banquet officially began, celebrating Rui Hua Group's 40th anniversary and the engagement of Gao Jie and Yu Zhi.
Chairwoman Lin Xue delivered a speech, welcoming everyone and reflecting on Rui Hua's founding vision to create jewelry that embodied true feelings and could be passed down through generations. Before Yu Zhi could finish his own speech, guests began clamoring for the bride to appear, causing both Yu Zhi and Gao Hui's faces to freeze.
