Gao Jie packed her bags and left Yu Zhi's home. She could not bear to hurt him or involve him further in the complexities surrounding Mu Ziyun. While she hoped to resolve her issues and perhaps return to him one day, she felt unable to share these truths with him at that moment. She later found herself at Chen Pinzhen's house, her face clouded with sorrow.

She felt torn between the man she loved and her aunt, whom she considered family, having never realized the depth of the animosity between Yu Zhi and Mu Ziyun. Caught in this difficult position, she desperately wanted to avoid hurting either of them, but her love for Yu Zhi left her feeling that leaving was the only option. Meanwhile, Yu Zhi, deeply affected by her departure, spent his days drinking.

Gao Hui realized neither Yu Zhi nor Yu Yi had come to the company. When she called Yu Zhi, he was playing billiards and promptly hung up. During a company meeting, the Custom Order Group successfully advocated for their participation in the annual celebration, with Mu Ziyun ceding 10% of the Plain Gold Group's booth space.

This came with a condition from the Chairwoman: the Custom Order Group's sales must exceed 10% of Rui Hua's total sales to secure their future. At the Custom Order Group, Gao Jie understood their limited budget for the upcoming annual celebration exhibition meant they needed to do something unexpected to capture attention. An old woman brought in an ornate hairpin, a cherished family heirloom, for repair.

Master Zheng confirmed he could mend it, which sparked an idea in Gao Jie: to highlight the Custom Order Group's unique specialty—the restoration and personal touch of their work. She shared her vision, explaining that the old woman's hairpin, like the Chairwoman's Phoenix Crown, was precious due to the memories it held, representing history, culture, and warm reminiscence.

She proposed attracting customers by showcasing restored jewelry and sharing the stories behind each piece, then selling newly created items that could become future memories. The masters enthusiastically agreed. Gao Jie announced she would head to the venue the following day to set up their booth for the celebration. After work, Gao Jie saw a silhouette that reminded her of Yu Zhi, and felt a pang of disappointment when it wasn't him.

Master Zheng, noticing her somber mood and distance from Yu Zhi, advised her to carefully consider her relationship. Mu Ziyun shared the annual celebration's client list with Gao Jie, noting these were clients previously connected with the Inlay Group. She instructed Gao Jie to reach out to them. Gao Jie expressed hesitation, concerned it would be akin to "poaching" and hurt Yu Zhi.

Mu Ziyun became angry, pointing out that Yu Zhi had approached Wu Xiaoci and her daughter, Gao Hui, upon joining Rui Hua, even creating marketing scandals with Gao Hui, which she believed revealed his true character. Despite her aunt's insistence, Gao Jie refused to take this approach, determined to win the competition fairly through her own merit and strength. Later, Gao Jie encountered Gao Hui at the exhibition venue.

Gao Hui challenged Gao Jie's presence, questioning how the "out-of-date things" from the Custom Order Group could possibly compete with her. Gao Jie reminded her that the Chairwoman herself had approved the Custom Order Group's participation. She argued that dismissing traditional craftsmanship as outdated merely showed a lack of understanding of its artistic value and a disregard for a designer's original intent.

Gao Hui retorted that all departments within Rui Hua competed fairly, implying Gao Jie was not on her level, before Yu Zhi intervened and led Gao Hui away. Following this, Yu Yi advised Yu Zhi to remain calm and separate personal matters from work. Gao Hui, still enraged, started cursing. Yu Zhi sternly told her to control her temper and demanded that she publicly clarify their relationship, as he disliked the rumors she was spreading.

Their argument intensified, prompting Yu Yi to mediate by offering to handle the public clarification himself. Later, at the exhibition venue, the Inlay Group’s display board encroached upon the Custom Order Group’s allocated space, and Gao Hui stubbornly refused to move it, infuriating Gao Jie. Yu Yi intervened, advising Gao Hui not to be too obvious and to prioritize the overall success of Rui Hua's annual celebration.

During this exchange, Yu Yi clutched his stomach, visibly unwell, but dismissed Gao Hui's concern. In her moment of frustration, Si Cheng appeared to Gao Jie. He suggested that by creatively changing the entrance to their booth, they could circumvent the issue of the encroaching display board. Inspired, the three masters of the Custom Order Group promptly broke open a curtain, fashioning a new, alternative entry point for their exhibition space.

Si Cheng, having seen Gao Jie's work, believed she was capable of achieving extraordinary success. He then revealed that he had left Fancai and established his own studio, Water Jade, offering Gao Jie a position with greater creative freedom and better compensation. However, Gao Jie was not ready to leave Rui Hua. Si Cheng surmised her decision stemmed from her unresolved issues with Wu Xiaoci and her daughter, expressing his reluctance to see her talent hampered by grudges.

Gao Jie admitted her initial reasons for joining Rui Hua were indeed complex, but her purpose had since evolved. Respecting her choice, Si Cheng accepted her decision. Later, Gao Hui noticed Yu Zhi had disappeared again. Yu Yi was still unwell, clutching his stomach, so Gao Hui insisted on taking him for a late-night snack.

She led him to a small, unassuming roadside eatery, where she ordered seafood porridge for him and reminisced about her past culinary mishaps, showing a rare, uninhibited side of herself around Yu Yi. An ambiguous moment arose when she nearly fell, and Yu Yi instinctively caught her, pulling her into his arms. Yu Yi was internally conflicted, fearing that openly expressing his feelings for Gao Hui might irrevocably alter the casual, unburdened nature of their relationship.

When Gao Jie returned home, Yu Zhi confronted her, pushing her against the wall and kissing her. He then pleaded for reconciliation. Gao Jie, however, continued to reject his advances. Yu Zhi, growing increasingly frustrated, threatened to transfer her back to the Inlay Group, expressing his belief that the purely handmade business model of the Custom Order Group was outdated and unsustainable in the modern era.

Gao Jie firmly stated her resolve to prove him wrong, asserting that the preservation and continuation of traditional culture were inherently meaningful endeavors. Feeling rebuffed, Yu Zhi stormed out of the apartment in anger.
