Lin Xiaodi woke up with a start, realizing she had spent the night in Lu Yuheng's room. She checked the time, 8:20 AM, and panicked, knowing her mother must be awake. She feared there would be no way to explain why she was in Lu Yuheng's room and that her mother would surely get the wrong idea. In the kitchen, Lu Yuheng was already helping Lin Xiaodi's mother prepare breakfast.

Mrs. Lin patiently showed him how to peel tomatoes by blanching them, explaining it makes the skin come off easily. She encouraged him to learn as much as possible, remarking that if he learned to cook, Lin Xiaodi would have less housework, as her hands were meant for design, not chores. Lu Yuheng eagerly offered to slice cucumbers, and Mrs. Lin taught him the technique, jokingly mentioning how Lin Xiaodi almost cut her finger when she first learned.

Lu Yuheng then shared that he grew up without a mother in an orphanage, which deeply saddened Mrs. Lin. She lovingly assured him that once he and Lin Xiaodi were together, she would be his mother and take good care of him, warming his heart. Mrs. Lin called Lin Xiaodi to breakfast, but Lin Xiaodi, feeling flustered, asked when her mother had woken up.

Mrs. Lin revealed she had been awake for a while and had found both Lin Xiaodi and Lu Yuheng still asleep with the door open. Lin Xiaodi immediately tried to explain, but her mother cut her off, saying Lu Yuheng had already clarified that there was a blackout, and due to his fear of the dark, Lin Xiaodi had simply stayed with him.

Lin Xiaodi felt relieved, but then, she confronted Lu Yuheng, accusing him of misleading her mother with some "fishy" explanation. Mrs. Lin quickly intervened, scolding Lin Xiaodi for her tone and declaring that Lu Yuheng was now like a son to her and Lin Xiaodi shouldn't bully him. This only irritated Lin Xiaodi further, making her fume at the cozy dynamic between Lu Yuheng and her mother, especially after the previous night's unresolved issues.

Due to the ongoing scandal, Zhao Muran's contracts were almost all terminated, and the resulting liquidated damages far exceeded his savings. His new movie's release had also been postponed. Hua, his manager, advised him to make a public apology, believing his fans wouldn't abandon him if he clarified his stance. However, Zhao Muran refused, stating that the "stance" they wanted was for him to publicly announce he didn't like Lin Xiaodi.

His cousin, Zhao Jinxuan, then gave him an ultimatum: choose between his career and his love. Zhao Muran declared he would take responsibility for his actions, offering to have his assistant transfer all his assets. Zhao Jinxuan, deciding it was time for Zhao Muran to face consequences, instructed Hua to confiscate Zhao Muran's car, as it was "high time he learned a hard lesson."

After breakfast, Mrs. Lin continued to teach Lu Yuheng more household skills, showing him how to make dumplings. She complimented his talent for housework, remarking that he was learning quickly, and expressed deep care for him, which warmed his heart. Mrs. Lin also shared her concern about Lu Yuheng's gastric problems, advising him to eat well and dress warmly.

This peaceful atmosphere was broken by the arrival of Zhao Muran, who immediately called Mrs. Lin "Mom," much to Lu Yuheng's annoyance. Mrs. Lin then subtly tried to help Lu Yuheng by suggesting he get orange juice for Lin Xiaodi, knowing it was her favorite. However, Lin Xiaodi had already accepted an orange from Zhao Muran and politely declined Lu Yuheng's offer.

Seeing this, Mrs. Lin subtly advised Lu Yuheng, reminding him of the saying, "Act before the other guy does," and emphasizing that in love, silence is never golden; one must express their feelings and intentions clearly. At the dinner table, she strategically invited Zhao Muran to sit beside her, creating further rivalry between him and Lu Yuheng. The two men continued their subtle competition for Lin Xiaodi's attention. Suddenly, Lu Yuheng bit into a coin in his dumpling.

Mrs. Lin announced that according to their family tradition, he could make one wish. Lu Yuheng looked at Lin Xiaodi and requested that she accompany him to a movie that night. Lin Xiaodi immediately worried about his fear of the dark, especially as the movie would involve turning off the lights. Later that night, Lu Yuheng took Lin Xiaodi to a movie theater, despite her initial concern about his fear of the dark.

There, he presented her with her repaired notebook, telling her that even broken things can be mended with effort and determination. He then confessed that while "Little Star" was his most important playmate as a seven-year-old, Lin Xiaodi was the person he cherished most now. He didn't want to miss his chance or live with regret, asking her not to leave him.

Deeply moved, Lin Xiaodi, despite his earlier antics, assured him she wasn't leaving and playfully called him a "wimp," promising to protect him. As the movie began and the lights dimmed, Lu Yuheng, still afraid of the dark, embraced Lin Xiaodi tightly, claiming it made him feel "more manly." Before her departure, Mrs. Lin arranged for renovation workers to update Lin Xiaodi's house, promising her a giant closet, new bed, and table.

However, during her farewells, Mrs. Lin showered Lu Yuheng with advice on diet and health, encouraging him to hold onto the person he liked and promising to cook for him next time. Despite Lin Xiaodi's repeated pleas, Mrs. Lin barely acknowledged her, causing Lin Xiaodi to exclaim in frustration that Lu Yuheng was clearly her mother's real child.

Even after Mrs. Lin left, Lin Xiaodi continued to complain to Lu Yuheng about her mother's favoritism, feeling neglected until she received a 50,000 yuan transfer and a loving message from her mother, telling her to take care of herself and come home if she was tired. Meanwhile, Liu Yan and Han Ruibing were out together, playfully bickering while also subtly showing care for each other by offering digestive and liver tonic pills.

Liu Yan's phone rang with an urgent call from Lu Yuheng, summoning him to the studio for an emergency meeting. Once there, Lu Yuheng, feeling desperate about his relationship with Lin Xiaodi, sought Liu Yan's advice as a "love expert." Liu Yan, embracing the role, provided a detailed "love lesson," explaining that modern girls are attracted to men who are rich, handsome, and can be both "composed and sweet."

He noted that Lu Yuheng already possessed the rich and handsome qualities, as well as the composed demeanor, but needed to cultivate the "sweet" aspect, which essentially meant being more affectionate and "clingy." Liu Yan confidently asserted that this approach would quickly improve Lu Yuheng's relationship with Lin Xiaodi, assuring him it was a tried-and-true method.

Hua continued to urge Zhao Muran to publicly clarify his scandal and salvage his career, revealing that Zhao Jinxuan had given up on him and was even trying to poach Lu Yuheng. However, Zhao Muran had a different idea. He asked Hua to arrange a press conference, not to clarify the scandal, but to publicly propose to Lin Xiaodi.

He pleaded with Hua, admitting he had been reckless but emphasizing that he didn't want to live with regret or see his "Xiaodi" taken from him. Seeing his desperation, Hua, who considered him like a brother, reluctantly agreed to help him one last time, on the condition that he would then seriously focus on his career.
