Huateng Land's board of directors convened a special meeting, where some suggested that Su Zhinian immediately cease his duties at Huateng Land. Others slandered Song Qingchun’s reputation, stating that if Su Zhinian did not voluntarily resign, Song Qingchun would be forced to step down as president.
During the meeting, a board member noted that Su Zhinian was the largest shareholder in Huateng Land and head of Geiger Capital. While his initial investment was welcomed, the current situation, fueled by rumors of Geiger Capital’s malicious acquisition and Su Zhinian illegally controlling Song Qingchun to orchestrate a hostile takeover, had become unsightly. Su Zhinian challenged them to provide concrete evidence, stating they could sue if they had any.
When a board member called Song Qingchun "naturally licentious," Su Zhinian retorted, "If you have nothing nice to say, it's better to keep quiet forever." To protect Song Qingchun and prevent her temporary suspension, Su Zhinian decided to hold a press conference that afternoon to announce his withdrawal from Huateng Land. Song Qingchun remembered the text message from Yu Wanting on Su Zhinian's phone, indicating they had been in contact, and felt a pang of jealousy. At the Qinghai Lake project site, they encountered Mr. Zhao, a holdout who refused to move. Yu Wanting expressed concern, noting that the project couldn't proceed without resolving such basic issues. Song Qingchun asked for a day to resolve the matter and told Su Zhinian to accompany Yu Wanting to explore other areas of the project.
As Su Zhinian walked away with Yu Wanting, she confronted him, reminding him of her past confession and his previous statement about not having romance in his life plan. She asked if his public declaration of dating Song Qingchun was to deter her. Su Zhinian reaffirmed that his previous stance was because "she hadn't appeared" before. Afterward, Song Qingchun successfully negotiated with Mr. Zhao, offering to retain his original house, double the compensation, and send him a renovation plan, which he accepted. She messaged Su Zhinian about the resolution. However, unknown to her, another party had also approached Mr. Zhao with a higher offer, indicating sabotage. Song Qingchun then learned that someone was disrupting the Qinghai Lake project and immediately messaged Su Zhinian to meet her by the lake.
As she approached the lake, she was ambushed by masked men who pushed her into the water. Meanwhile, Su Zhinian and Yu Wanting were discussing the project when he received Song Qingchun's urgent message. He immediately excused himself and rushed to the lake. Seeing Song Qingchun struggling and calling for help in the water, Su Zhinian, without hesitation, plunged in to save her.
Finding her unconscious, he submerged himself and gave her air through an underwater kiss, then successfully brought her ashore. Song Qingchun regained consciousness in a hotel. Subconsciously, she felt it was Su Zhinian who had rescued her and went to the front desk to inquire, but the receptionist stated they were unaware who brought her back and had not seen Mr. Su. Meanwhile, Su Zhinian had fainted after the rescue. Yu Wanting cared for him until he awoke.
He downplayed his condition, telling Yu Wanting, "I know my health very well. It's nothing serious." He insisted they return to the city. Yu Wanting, still doubting the project and Song Qingchun's capabilities, expressed her reservations about investing.
