To ensure their safety, Liu Ruochen proposed that everyone – Qin Yang, Yi Xiao, and Fan Fan – move into his house and stay together, preventing Gao Ruwen from having any opportunity to approach Fan Fan if she remained indoors. Everyone agreed, and they even devised a code phrase for entering the house, ensuring no intruder could get in. When Qin Yang and Yi Xiao arrived, Liu Ruochen meticulously checked their travel details, reinforcing the high alert.
He realized that merely defending was too passive, especially since Fan Fan and Yi Xiao were women and therefore more vulnerable. He declared that he and Fan Fan were now "bound together in life and death." Fan Fan initially suggested preparing defensive tools like pepper spray and alarms, which Yi Xiao also possessed.
