Li Xiaowen agreed to help redesign the page and retake product photos. Meanwhile, Shu Yiran was shopping with Auntie Fei, Ning Weijin's stepmother. Auntie Fei noticed Shu Yiran seemed distracted, assuming it was due to a disagreement with Ning Weijin. She then faked a phone call, pretending to speak with Uncle Ning about Ning Weijin returning his call, and told Dingding that their families were very close. Shu Yiran went on to suggest that Dingding was a good match for Ning Weijin because he desired an "obedient" and "easy to deal with" girlfriend who "didn't require much attention," unlike herself, who often argued with him.
She implied that Ning Weijin, busy with his medical career, had little time for a "needy" partner. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, Dingding left the keys and said she had other commitments. As she left, she encountered Ning Weijin and asked if he was free for dinner that evening. Ning Weijin explained he had to cover a colleague's shift but suggested they meet tomorrow night. Already upset, Dingding curtly replied, "Never mind," and left, leaving Ning Weijin puzzled by her sudden anger.
Dingding later confided in Xiao Feng, expressing her frustration that Ning Weijin might see her as a "brainless" and "easy-to-handle" girl, influenced by Shu Yiran's words. Xiao Feng, however, challenged her perspective. He reminded Dingding that Shu Yiran, as Ning Weijin's childhood friend, surely knew he was pursuing Dingding, and a true friend wouldn't deliberately cause misunderstandings. He pointed out that Dingding, usually not easily swayed, was so emotionally affected, which could only mean she also had feelings for Ning Weijin. That night, Ning Weijin was on night duty. Shu Yiran stayed at the hospital, citing an unstable patient as her reason for observing. She offered to take over so Ning Weijin could go home, but he told her to get some rest and he would call her if needed.
She fell asleep on the examination bed in his office. The next morning, she awoke to find Ning Weijin had already left after his shift without waking her. After his night shift, without having slept, Ning Weijin went directly to Dingding's place with breakfast to apologize for missing dinner. He explained that as a doctor, his patients would always be his top priority and hoped for her understanding.
Dingding, having spoken with Xiao Feng, was no longer angry and admitted her own error in judgment. She offered him a steamed bun, which he readily accepted. Noticing his extreme exhaustion, Dingding expressed concern about him driving while sleepy. She asked Yunsheng to drive Ning Weijin home and later texted Ning Weixuan to check on his well-being.
Ning Weixuan then sent Dingding a photo of Ning Weijin asleep in the car, remarking on how tired he looked and teasing Dingding about her sudden display of concern for her brother. Dingding tried to dismiss it as "just a friend's concern," but Ning Weixuan clearly sensed Dingding's deeper feelings for Ning Weijin.
