See You Tomorrow Episode 9 Recap
> See You Tomorrow Recap
After a lively dinner gathering, Ding Liaoliao suggested playing a game called "Of Course." The rules were simple: participants would play rock, paper, scissors, and the winner could ask any question. The person asked had to respond "Of course" unconditionally, or face a punishment. Jiang Kan and Zhong Yu started the game, their interactions quickly becoming intense. When Zhong Yu playfully asked Jiang Kan if he would choose a dog over Ding Liaoliao, Jiang Kan hesitated.
Unable to answer immediately, he accepted the punishment, then explained he was allergic to dogs. Jiang Kan then fired back with probing questions about Zhong Yu's marital status and divorce, to which Zhong Yu, with a knowing smile, answered "Of course" to each. The escalating tension prompted Ding Man to interrupt, annoyed by their competitive banter. He then took over the game with Ding Liaoliao, turning the questions on her.
Ding Man asked Ding Liaoliao if she truly liked Jiang Kan. After a noticeable pause, Ding Liaoliao responded, "Of course." Jiang Kan couldn't help but hide a small smile, while Zhong Yu looked visibly disheartened. Ding Man and Ding Liaoliao continued to playfully tease each other with embarrassing anecdotes from their childhood, like Ding Liaoliao's high school crush on a math teacher and Ding Man wetting his bed in middle school and blaming the family dog.
As the evening wound down, Zhong Yu bid Ding Liaoliao farewell, subtly advising her to "look more at the people around you." Shortly after, Jiang Kan conveniently appeared, ostensibly to take out the trash, and then suggested they discuss the new plan for their charity medical activity in Ding Liaoliao's room, eager to hear her ideas. Meanwhile, Lian Geyao's aunt called, strongly urging her to meet a blind date, Mr. Liu.
Lian Geyao initially resisted, claiming she had a boyfriend who was shy around strangers, but her aunt insisted, highlighting Mr. Liu's impressive background as an overseas returnee and successful director at a securities firm, earning around 800,000 yuan annually. Reluctantly, Lian Geyao agreed to a single meeting.
At the cafe, Mr. Liu proudly recited his academic achievements from the University of Bath in England and London Business School, and then proceeded to outline his traditional expectations for a wife: a dedicated housewife who manages all household duties, children, and in-laws, without a career. Lian Geyao quickly retorted, suggesting he become a "househusband" while she continued to work and provide, even offering to hire a nanny if needed.
Mr. Liu, taken aback, then grew rude, telling her that matchmakers had "begged" him to meet her because she was "old" and unmarried. He offensively commented on women's declining "market value" with age, contrasting it with men who could find younger partners even in their forties or fifties. Lian Geyao deftly turned his logic against him, asking why he, at 36, was still single, implying there might be "something wrong with his health."
Before Mr. Liu could further insult her, Ding Man dramatically appeared, chastising Mr. Liu for his misogynistic and narrow-minded views. He paid for their coffee and escorted a surprised Lian Geyao out of the cafe. Outside, Ding Man earnestly confessed his long-standing feelings for Lian Geyao, praising her courage and charm, and asked her to consider trying a relationship with him. Overwhelmed, Lian Geyao agreed, leaving both of them ecstatic.
The next day, Ding Liaoliao and Jiang Kan arrived at a kindergarten to host their charity medical activity. Ms. Xu, the teacher, greeted them, introducing them to the lively Class 2 children who would participate in a stage play designed to teach them about immunity. Jiang Kan, a doctor in real life, was given the role of "Doctor," while Ding Liaoliao volunteered to be his assistant, the "Nurse."
As costumes were being handed out, a boy named Liangliang, seemingly an outcast, wanted to wear the "little devil" costume. However, other children quickly chimed in, calling him "dirty" and a "bad guy." Ms. Xu explained that Liangliang's parents worked far from home, and he lived with his grandfather, an environmental guard, whose frugal lifestyle meant Liangliang's clothes were often not as clean as the other children's, leading to his isolation.
When a staff member suggested Liangliang quit the play, Ding Liaoliao immediately refused, insisting it would be unfair, and Jiang Kan reassured them that they would find another solution. Ding Liaoliao, in her nurse uniform, asked Jiang Kan to tie her hair for the performance. Despite his initial awkwardness, he carefully did so. The play commenced, with Jiang Kan as the Doctor, Ding Liaoliao as the Nurse, and Liangliang as the "bacteria little devil."
The other children, dressed as "Immune Squad" members (representing medicine pills and the body's immune force), bravely confronted the "little devil." The performance was a resounding success, culminating in Liangliang's character being "defeated" and the children cheering for health. After the show, as other children left with their parents, Liangliang remained behind, his grandfather still at work. Ding Liaoliao and Jiang Kan offered to take him home, assuring him it was no trouble at all.
They joyfully played with Liangliang on their way, making his day special. Later that evening, as Ding Liaoliao and Jiang Kan walked home, Jiang Kan bought a variety of lollipops. Ding Liaoliao mentioned her preference for strawberry flavor, and Jiang Kan promptly produced one for her, remarking that his sister also liked strawberry. As they neared their building, they spotted Lian Geyao with a man.
Jiang Kan immediately noticed the man was wearing the same jacket Ding Man had worn last Wednesday. Ding Liaoliao initially dismissed it, thinking it might be a woman, but Jiang Kan was certain of the jacket. The shocking realization soon dawned on them: the man Lian Geyao was with, her new boyfriend, was none other than Ding Man.
