Liaoliao marveled at how important she must be to have Jiang Kan rush to celebrate her birthday. Jiang Kan recounted his journey, observing the twinkling lights on the mountainside and imagining Liaoliao foolishly staring at the sky, wondering why the meteor shower hadn't arrived. Liaoliao playfully corrected him, admitting she was actually wondering why "he" hadn't arrived. Jiang Kan then revealed he had brought an almond cake and almond wine.
Liaoliao teasingly suggested they shouldn't drink, recalling how he "let himself go" when drunk. Jiang Kan clarified that he was perfectly sober when he kissed her the previous night. Jiang Kan then confessed his true feelings. He explained that for him, pharmaceutical research used to be the most romantic thing, and he never imagined building a close emotional connection with a stranger.
However, after meeting Liaoliao, his life entered a delightful state of "disorder," filled with fresh, unexpected events every day. He found himself constantly exploring and seeking answers. When Liaoliao asked if he had found those answers, Jiang Kan replied that he had found only one: Liaoliao herself. " You are the solution to all my problems, existing and unique," he declared. As they headed back, Liaoliao complained of the cold, and Jiang Kan immediately offered her his jacket.
She teased him, expecting him to only say "drink more hot water," prompting Jiang Kan to launch into a scientific explanation of the benefits of warm water, which Liaoliao quickly halted. Just then, a meteor streaked across the sky, and Liaoliao urged him to make a wish. Jiang Kan smiled, saying his wish had already come true. Liaoliao then kissed him, intending to "reinforce" his wish.
Nearby, Ding Man, with Lian Geyao asleep on his shoulder, made his own wish upon a meteor, hoping that the girl by his side would have sweet dreams every night. Later that night, in their tent, Ding Man and Jiang Kan found themselves unable to sleep. Ding Man fabricated an excuse about getting water for Jiang Kan and went to Liaoliao and Geyao's tent.
Soon after, Jiang Kan, feigning a search for drinking cups for the almond wine, also made his way to the girls' tent. Though Liaoliao and Geyao saw through their transparent excuses, they simply let them be. After returning to their tent, Ding Man and Jiang Kan discussed their respective girlfriends. Ding Man proudly declared that Geyao had eyes only for him.
Unbeknownst to them, Liaoliao and Geyao were busy in their own tent, applying face masks and enthusiastically admiring a new male idol on their phone. The next day, as the four friends returned home from their camping trip, they were surprised to find Dr. Huang, Liaoliao and Ding Man's uncle and Jiang Kan's senior schoolmate, had arrived for a business trip.
Dr. Huang greeted Jiang Kan with excessive warmth, calling him "senior schoolmate" and insisting that Liaoliao and Ding Man address Jiang Kan as "Uncle Jiang," which made everyone visibly uncomfortable. At dinner, Dr. Huang pressed Liaoliao to find a partner. As Liaoliao began to introduce Jiang Kan, her uncle quickly interjected, advising her not to pursue someone in his or Jiang Kan's profession.
He specifically singled out Jiang Kan, describing him as introverted, honest, and awkward, someone who "couldn't even speak to girls." That evening, Liaoliao went to Jiang Kan's room to reassure him, telling him not to be upset by her uncle's words, as in her eyes, Jiang Kan was the best, gentlest, and most considerate boyfriend.
Their intimate moment was abruptly interrupted when Dr. Huang burst into the room looking for Jiang Kan, who quickly pushed Liaoliao away to avoid being discovered. Dr. Huang scolded Jiang Kan for being in a young woman's room with the door closed. Later, in their shared room, Dr. Huang attempted to engage Jiang Kan in conversation, but Jiang Kan appeared uninterested.
However, when Dr. Huang noticed a decorative charm on Jiang Kan's backpack and mentioned it reminded him of Liaoliao, the topic shifted. Jiang Kan's demeanor changed, and he uncharacteristically invited Dr. Huang to talk more, thoroughly enjoying the stories about Liaoliao's mischievous childhood. The following day, Dr. Huang finally departed for the UK. Liaoliao returned home to find only Jiang Kan there.
She playfully sat on his lap and asked him what he most wanted to do at that very moment. Jiang Kan offered evasive answers like "sleep" or "finish the report." As Liaoliao leaned in for a kiss, Dr. Huang unexpectedly returned, having forgotten his ID card, and accidentally discovered their hidden relationship.
Ultimately, the four-person shared living arrangement evolved into two cohabiting couples, with Liaoliao and Jiang Kan, much like Ding Man and Lian Geyao, growing more in love each day. When asked what they most wanted to say to each other, both couples expressed the same heartfelt sentiment: "I want to see you again tomorrow."
