Han Hui, a renowned actress, made a grand entrance at the evening gala, captivating everyone present. Wen Xiaonuan, who was accompanying Ye Feimo, was particularly mesmerized by Han Hui's beauty and star power, even declaring her an idol who had achieved great success in Hollywood. A crowd of people immediately surrounded Han Hui, eager to pitch new scripts, but her agent politely declined all proposals, stating that Han Hui was not interested in any of the current projects.
As Wen Xiaonuan attempted to get closer to her idol, Ye Feimo firmly pulled her away, reminding her that she was his partner for the night and had a task to complete. Elsewhere, Wang Jiayi was approached by her agent, Simon, who introduced her to Mr. Xu, a wealthy film company executive. Mr. Xu immediately made inappropriate advances, but Wang Jiayi, known for her straightforward nature, bluntly rejected him, stating she had no interest in rich men.
Han Hui, meanwhile, observed the unfolding interactions, particularly between Wen Xiaonuan and Ye Feimo. As Wen Xiaonuan and Ye Feimo prepared for a dance, Director Dong approached them, disrupting their moment. Despite Ye Feimo's clear discomfort, Director Dong insensitively insisted on swapping dance partners, suggesting Wen Xiaonuan join him and offering Ye Feimo other women.
Annoyed, Ye Feimo firmly announced that Wen Xiaonuan was his fiancée and warned Director Dong against touching her, a declaration that stunned everyone in the room. From a distance, Gu Yunzhou and Li Can gossiped, speculating whether Ye Feimo's bold move was a genuine expression of affection for Wen Xiaonuan or merely a calculated attempt to provoke Han Hui.
Shortly after, Jiang Fang, the host of the party, officially welcomed Han Hui back to the entertainment industry, proposing a toast in her honor. Wen Xiaonuan was engrossed, watching Han Hui with adoration. Ye Feimo, misinterpreting her gaze as being fixed on Jiang Fang, pulled Wen Xiaonuan closer and reminded her of the substantial commission she would receive for completing her task, urging her to remain compliant.
The intimate interaction between Wen Xiaonuan and Ye Feimo did not go unnoticed by Han Hui. When Ye Feimo briefly stepped away to discuss business, Han Hui seized the opportunity to approach Wen Xiaonuan. In a seemingly accidental bump, Han Hui made contact with Wen Xiaonuan, then solicitously helped her regain her balance. Wen Xiaonuan, still in awe of her idol, cautiously asked if Han Hui could help record a promotional video for her hometown's Huangmei opera troupe.
Han Hui, aiming to sow discord between Wen Xiaonuan and Ye Feimo, superficially agreed before quickly revealing her past close relationship with Ye Feimo. Just as Han Hui was implying their old connection, Ye Feimo returned. He intervened, stating that he had intended to introduce them, but it seemed they were already acquainted.
He then reaffirmed Wen Xiaonuan as his fiancée, expressed his deep love for her, and mentioned that his mother also adored her, inviting Han Hui to their upcoming wedding. He then took Wen Xiaonuan away, leaving Han Hui behind. Wen Xiaonuan immediately confronted Ye Feimo, denying she was his fiancée and accusing him of speaking nonsense.
Ye Feimo, however, reminded her that attending the party and following his orders was her task, implying she couldn't back out now, especially since he had been the one to "attract her attention first." Jiang Fang also watched the scene unfold with a clear look of jealousy. Han Hui, observing Wen Xiaonuan, noted their striking resemblance and the fact that Wen Xiaonuan was wearing a gown Han Hui had previously ordered.
Convinced that Ye Feimo had intentionally found Wen Xiaonuan to provoke her, Han Hui sought a private conversation with Ye Feimo, hoping to rekindle their romance. She attempted to explain her past actions, including their breakup and her departure abroad, by placing the blame on Ye Feimo's mother, claiming she needed to become a better version of herself to gain his mother's acceptance. Ye Feimo, however, found her excuses laughable, knowing his mother well.
He sarcastically complimented Han Hui's improved acting skills, flatly denying that Wen Xiaonuan was a mere substitute, and coldly rejected Han Hui’s advances. Unseen by them, Gu Yunzhou and Li Can continued to discuss Ye Feimo, remarking on how the "little nurse" had managed to melt his seemingly "frozen heart" and noting her unusual abilities, such as being able to "climb over the wall" and cook various dishes for him.
Meanwhile, Jiang Fang and his fiancée, Jiang Ling'er, approached Han Hui with an offer to film a promotional video for Yaohua's tenth-anniversary celebration, highlighting Jiang Ling'er's status as Yaohua's founder's daughter and an actress. Han Hui's agent, however, rejected the proposal, stating that Han Hui, as an international superstar, did not need such a project to boost her popularity. Jiang Fang and Jiang Ling'er were visibly embarrassed.
Across the room, Wang Jiayi found herself harassed by her agent, Simon, who criticized her conservative attire and urged her to apologize to Mr. Xu. Later, while Wang Jiayi quietly listened to music in a corner, Jiang Ling'er approached her, admonishing her for not networking and criticizing her lack of popularity. Wang Jiayi, looking distressed, moved away. Gu Yunzhou, observing Wang Jiayi's vulnerability, became drawn to her.
Mr. Xu, still persistent, continued to bother Wang Jiayi, who reiterated her disinterest in wealthy men. Gu Yunzhou overheard this and was momentarily disheartened. Li Can then recounted Wang Jiayi's past to Gu Yunzhou: a promising career that was abruptly ended after she fell in love with a rich boyfriend who forbade her from acting. When he later abandoned her for a wealthy family marriage, she returned to the industry only to find herself without resources and her fame diminished.
Inspired, Gu Yunzhou decided to approach Wang Jiayi by disguising himself as a waiter. Han Hui, determined to win back Ye Feimo, set her sights on rejoining the "Blue Sky Galaxy" project. Knowing that Director Li Can was the key, she approached him, despite their strained history. Director Li Can still held a grudge against Han Hui for her abrupt departure years ago, which had left his entire crew in a difficult position.
Han Hui, leveraging her current popularity and resources, argued that her involvement, combined with Director Li Can’s industry influence and the sensational news of their past falling out, would create unparalleled publicity for the film. Director Li Can, however, was unmoved by her words. To test her sincerity, he challenged her to jump into the pool right then and there, declaring that whoever jumped would become the film's leading actress. Han Hui, unwilling to compromise her image, refused.
Coincidentally, as Wen Xiaonuan stood by the pool, Jiang Ling'er intentionally pushed her in. Thus, by a twist of fate, Wen Xiaonuan inadvertently became Director Li Can’s chosen lead actress for the new film.
