Following his mother's revelation that Han Hui was never his savior, Ye Feimo encourages Wen Xiaonuan to seize a career-defining opportunity in France, even though it means they will be apart for a year. As Wen Xiaonuan's departure date looms, Ye Feimo grows anxious. During a meeting, he hastily cuts short a subordinate's report, insisting he must leave work on time.
His friend Li Can teases him about the impending year of lovesickness, only to realize his own girlfriend, Zhou Xiaojing, will be accompanying Wen Xiaonuan as her manager. Panicked, Li Can pulls Zhou Xiaojing from her own meeting and rushes to a jewelry store. There, he impulsively buys a diamond ring and proposes on the spot, explaining he fears she might find someone else during the year abroad and wants to secure their relationship first.
Zhou Xiaojing joyfully accepts, and they agree to register their marriage after Xiaonuan’s upcoming press event. Wen Xiaonuan, saddened by the thought of leaving Ye Feimo, is overjoyed for Zhou Xiaojing when she sees the new ring. Zhou Xiaojing then reveals that Ye Feimo had also commissioned a custom ring for Xiaonuan, which he never collected. Intrigued, Wen Xiaonuan goes to the jewelry store herself.
The staff confirms that Ye Feimo had ordered a unique ring designed by their chief designer, Dennis, based on the theme of "the purest love." They explain that although Ye Feimo later instructed them to dispose of the ring, they couldn't bear to and kept it safe. The assistant also fondly recalls how Ye Feimo had used a simple pull-tab to provide the ring size, a sign that he had been planning to propose for a long time.
That evening, Wen Xiaonuan returns home to find Ye Feimo asleep and begins to set up a surprise. When he wakes, he gives her a list of meticulous instructions for her trip: to eat on time, promising to send a chef if she dislikes the food; to hire an interpreter if needed; to carry an umbrella for the frequent rain; and to be patient with the famously temperamental director, Jacques.
He assures her his phone will be on 24/7 and, most importantly, asks her to miss him. After her supposed departure, a heartbroken Ye Feimo forgoes his car and walks home alone, feeling the city’s emptiness without her. When Ye Feimo arrives at his dark, silent home, the lights won't turn on. He walks deeper inside to find a room filled with flickering candles and rose petals.
A large gift box sits in the center, and to his astonishment, Wen Xiaonuan emerges from it. Overwhelmed, he wonders if he is dreaming, as he believes she should be on a plane to France. She confesses that she couldn't bear to leave him and wants to be with him forever. Nervously, she pulls out the ring and begins a clumsy proposal. Touched, Ye Feimo kneels with her, takes the ring, and declares that proposing is a man's job.
In a heartfelt speech, he recounts how they met through a contract and how her warmth melted his cold, selfish nature, opening his eyes to a world of love and fulfillment. Calling her the stars in his night sky, he asks her to hold his hand for a lifetime. A tearful Wen Xiaonuan accepts, and he slips the ring onto her finger. As they embrace, their friends emerge from hiding to celebrate with them, urging them to kiss.
Later, Jiayi and Gu Yunzhou’s date is interrupted by Zhao Di. Gu Yunzhou frantically denies any connection to her, but Jiayi’s calm trust in him impresses Zhao Di. Zhao Di clarifies she has no romantic interest in Gu Yunzhou; as his childhood friend who once shared a cradle with him, she was simply testing Jiayi's sincerity. She then begins to share embarrassing stories about Gu Yunzhou’s childhood until he pulls a curious Jiayi away.
Meanwhile, Jiang Fang, seeking a fresh start, interviews at Zhao Di’s new company. He explains he wants to leave behind his past mistakes and dedicate himself sincerely to his work. Impressed by his honesty, Zhao Di hires him. The story concludes with Wen Xiaonuan and Ye Feimo taking wedding photos in a small fishing village. When Ye Feimo accidentally falls into the sea, Wen Xiaonuan jumps in to save him.
As she pulls him from the water, she remarks that he still doesn't remember her saving him once before. The scene flashes back, finally confirming that Wen Xiaonuan was the one who had rescued him from drowning years ago. Her playful comment that she can't be expected to remember every handsome man she saves brings their story full circle, proving that people in love will always find their way back to one another.
