The announcement that Mo Xiaobai would be the leading actor in Blue Sky Galaxy filled Wen Xiaonuan with excitement. However, her initial joy turned to surprise and a little fear when Mo Xiaobai mysteriously appeared in her hospital room, calling her "cousin-in-law." He clarified that Ye Feimo was his cousin and that Wen Xiaonuan, as Ye Feimo's girlfriend, was therefore his cousin-in-law. Despite Wen Xiaonuan's denials, Mo Xiaobai seemed oblivious, even promising to help Ye Feimo confess his feelings.
Wen Xiaonuan, star-struck, gushed about her admiration for Mo Xiaobai, mentioning she had seen all his movies and that he looked even better in person. Mo Xiaobai acknowledged her compliments but found Ye Feimo's nervous reactions to Wen Xiaonuan's injury more amusing. Just as he was vividly describing Ye Feimo's pale face and trembling hands, Ye Feimo himself entered the room, his face stern.
Overcome with jealousy, he coldly ordered Mo Xiaobai to leave, despite Mo Xiaobai's protest that Wen Xiaonuan was happy. Ye Feimo, though inwardly anxious about Wen Xiaonuan, insisted that her severe hand injury meant she could not be discharged early, rejecting her pleas to leave the hospital. Meanwhile, Anning Culture and Director Li refused to change the leading actress for Blue Sky Galaxy. This deeply angered Han Hui, who felt she was inferior to a newcomer in Ye Feimo's eyes.
Jiang Fang, holding a script for "Magpie Bridge," a film with a similar theme to Blue Sky Galaxy, sought out Han Hui for a collaboration. He acknowledged that his script might seem like a "discounted version" compared to Blue Sky Galaxy, but with Han Hui's involvement and Yaohua's top-tier team, he promised her a flawless film debut. Han Hui, driven by her desire to outshine Wen Xiaonuan and Anning Culture, quickly agreed to Jiang Fang's contract offer.
Later, Jiang Fang visited Wen Xiaonuan in the hospital, expressing his concern for her. However, his attention only troubled Wen Xiaonuan. She confessed that she once believed they would have a beautiful future together—marriage, children, growing old—but now realized all those feelings were wrong. While she didn't understand or agree with his recent choices, she respected them. She firmly asked him to stop appearing in her life.
Jiang Fang tried to justify his actions, claiming everything he did was for their future, to provide her with a better life sooner rather than later. Wen Xiaonuan gently advised him not to hurt another woman who loved him, referring to Jiang Ling'er, his fiancée. Unwilling to give up, Jiang Fang pressed her, asking if she had fallen for Ye Feimo. Wen Xiaonuan did not answer directly but definitively drew a line between them.
Unbeknownst to them, Ye Feimo overheard their entire conversation. After leaving the room, Jiang Fang provoked Ye Feimo, boasting that he knew everything about Wen Xiaonuan, from her favorite movies and songs to her preferred foods, claiming she was nostalgic and would return to him. He even taunted Ye Feimo by saying Wen Xiaonuan liked champagne roses, not lilies. Ye Feimo, despite his usual composure, felt a deep sense of insecurity and uncertainty regarding Wen Xiaonuan.
Ye Feimo then entered Wen Xiaonuan's room, his face cold. His first action was to swipe away the lilies Jiang Fang had sent. He then intently stared at Wen Xiaonuan, firing off a rapid series of questions about her likes and dislikes: favorite films, songs, colors, foods, even if she liked small animals. He diligently took notes on a piece of paper, conducting this detailed "investigation" for two consecutive days, closely observing her.
When Xiaokai visited Wen Xiaonuan at the hospital, he unexpectedly encountered Mo Xiaobai, who was driving a sports car. Xiaokai, seemingly with poor eyesight, mistook Mo Xiaobai for a "famous influencer singer" and repeatedly provoked him by suggesting he had undergone plastic surgery, specifically mentioning an eye lift and jawline fix. Mo Xiaobai, infuriated, argued with Xiaokai, asserting that he was "100% original." Mo Xiaobai and Xiaokai, each with prepared food, then competed for Wen Xiaonuan's affection.
Xiaokai excitedly called Ye Feimo "brother-in-law," while Mo Xiaobai frequently called Wen Xiaonuan "cousin-in-law." Originally intended to help Ye Feimo, Mo Xiaobai suddenly switched tactics upon learning that Ye Feimo hadn't yet confessed his feelings, declaring his intention to pursue Wen Xiaonuan himself. Xiaokai, agitated, quickly intervened, emphasizing that Ye Feimo was the only brother-in-law he recognized, a declaration that secretly pleased Ye Feimo.
Having gathered preliminary information on Wen Xiaonuan's preferences, Ye Feimo bought a large box of crayfish and personally peeled and fed them to her. However, Wen Xiaonuan's enjoyment was cut short when a doctor intervened, reminding her that spicy food was detrimental to her recovery. Meanwhile, Jiayi fell into Mr. Xu's trap, having been deceived by her agent. Mr. Xu, with malicious intent, attempted to assault Jiayi in a hotel room.
Fortunately, Gu Yunzhou was holding a meeting in the same hotel and, having been tracking Jiayi's movements, arrived just in time to rescue her. Despite her traumatic experience, Jiayi insisted on keeping the incident from Wen Xiaonuan, who was still recovering. This harrowing event, however, significantly altered Jiayi's perception of Gu Yunzhou. As Wen Xiaonuan was forbidden from eating spicy food, she asked Ye Feimo to accompany her during her rehabilitation.
During a break, Wen Xiaonuan recounted her past experiences at the Fusheng Theater, mentioning how she often sustained injuries while playing multiple roles in a single performance. She also shared her strong swimming abilities and how she had saved numerous tourists who had fallen into the sea. These stories jogged Ye Feimo's memory, making him recall his own past rescue by someone in the sea.
This confirmed his growing certainty that Wen Xiaonuan was the one who had saved him, affirming that he never considered her a mere substitute for Han Hui, but rather the unique and irreplaceable Wen Xiaonuan herself.
