Concerned about Wen Xiaonuan's interaction with Han Hui, Ye Feimo was anxious, but a dinner arranged by Miss Cheng offered an opportunity. At the meal, Zhou Xiaojing began by lamenting to Miss Cheng about Ye Feimo's excessively strict demands on their Artist Management Department, all for Wen Xiaonuan's well-being, ensuring she never suffered. This speech was pointedly directed at Han Hui.
Han Hui then requested to speak with Miss Cheng privately, but Miss Cheng firmly kept Wen Xiaonuan present, explicitly referring to her as "our Ye family's daughter-in-law." Han Hui boldly asserted that Ye Feimo had always loved only her. Wen Xiaonuan felt a pang of sadness but inwardly reminded herself that her relationship with Ye Feimo was strictly professional.
Miss Cheng calmly countered, explaining that in the past, Ye Feimo believed Han Hui had saved his life and, out of gratitude, pursued a relationship without truly understanding love. Now, however, he was mature, knew what he wanted, and who he truly loved, subtly referencing Wen Xiaonuan's protected journey since her debut.
Miss Cheng then warned Han Hui to cease any rumors that could impact Wen Xiaonuan, her son, or Anning Culture, gracefully apologizing to Wen Xiaonuan for bringing up past affairs. Miss Cheng hinted that had Han Hui known Ye Feimo's significant background earlier, she would have engaged in business discussions long ago. Han Hui argued she never exploited him, but Miss Cheng noted that Anning Culture now seemed to hold significance for her.
Han Hui then steered the conversation to her desire to star in the film "Blue Sky Galaxy," emphasizing her current status and box office appeal as making her the ideal leading actress. Miss Cheng feigned ignorance about company affairs, asking about the director. Zhou Xiaojing interjected, stating that the director, Li Can, was famously headstrong and selected his own cast, refusing to listen to anyone, making the matter very difficult even for Miss Cheng.
While observing the verbal sparring, Wen Xiaonuan accidentally choked on her coffee, finding it too bitter. Han Hui seized the moment, remarking that Ye Feimo preferred bitter coffee, implying Wen Xiaonuan didn't know him well. However, Wen Xiaonuan confidently retorted that Ye Feimo had changed and now, influenced by her, preferred mocha. Zhou Xiaojing further highlighted that Ye Feimo had been smiling much more lately, all thanks to Wen Xiaonuan. Miss Cheng beamed with pride, showering Wen Xiaonuan with praise.
When Han Hui attempted to revisit the film project, Miss Cheng summarily dismissed her, declaring that their business discussion was concluded and she wished to enjoy her meal with her daughter-in-law. After Han Hui left, Miss Cheng, finishing her own meal, instructed Wen Xiaonuan to wait for her in the parking lot as she still had private matters to discuss with Zhou Xiaojing. Meanwhile, Ye Feimo, unable to reach Wen Xiaonuan by phone, drove directly to the restaurant.
He arrived just as Han Hui cornered Wen Xiaonuan in the underground parking lot. Han Hui sneered at Wen Xiaonuan, telling her not to get carried away, insisting Ye Feimo would never truly like her, and that the "daughter-in-law" title was merely Miss Cheng's wishful thinking. Wen Xiaonuan calmly retorted, questioning why Han Hui seemed so nervous and reminding the international superstar that challenging a "rookie" was beneath her dignity.
Infuriated, Han Hui accused Wen Xiaonuan of being two-faced, faking innocence for Miss Cheng and Zhou Xiaojing, and attempting to curry favor to advance her career. Wen Xiaonuan, maintaining her composure, stated that she had once considered Han Hui a role model but now found that a superficial choice. She asserted that her ability to bring happiness to Miss Cheng was her own capability, unlike others who tried to please but were not appreciated.
Han Hui, fuming, threatened Wen Xiaonuan before storming off. Unbeknownst to Han Hui, Miss Cheng and Zhou Xiaojing had overheard the entire exchange. Miss Cheng was immensely pleased with Wen Xiaonuan's resilient and confident demeanor. She immediately called Ye Feimo, praising Wen Xiaonuan for being "soft yet tough" and "resilient," giving her a "full mark," and officially acknowledging her as her daughter-in-law, cautioning Ye Feimo not to "play tricks." Ye Feimo, overjoyed, promptly picked up Wen Xiaonuan.
In the car, Wen Xiaonuan initially pressed Ye Feimo about his past relationship with Han Hui, teasing him for not sharing such "gossip." She then quickly shifted the topic, marveling at how domineering Miss Cheng and Zhou Xiaojing had been at dinner. She expressed a deeper understanding of what a rare opportunity it was to be the lead actress in "Blue Sky Galaxy" and vowed to seize it and deliver a satisfactory performance for Anning Culture.
Later, Jiang Fang met with Han Hui, informing her that Miss Cheng had already accepted Wen Xiaonuan as her future daughter-in-law. He suggested that Han Hui should learn from Wen Xiaonuan and find a way to enter Ye Feimo's home to block Wen Xiaonuan's path and cut off Ye Feimo's retreat. Han Hui put the plan into action, going to Junxin Bar and pretending to be heavily intoxicated.
A bartender called Ye Feimo, explaining that Han Hui was drunk, had been recognized, was causing a commotion, and kept calling for him, with her manager out of town. Ye Feimo, initially reluctant, eventually went to pick her up. Han Hui clung to him, feigning drunkenness, and implicitly arranged for photos to be taken, allowing her to enter his home. Meanwhile, Jiang Ling'er inquired about Ye Feimo and Han Hui's past.
She learned that when they first met, Han Hui was an unknown actress. Ye Feimo had kept his true identity a secret, leading Han Hui to believe he was just a struggling student. However, Miss Cheng had been observing Han Hui and orchestrated an invitation for her to develop her career in America with an American director.
At that time, Ye Feimo was about to reveal his identity to Han Hui and, through Zhou Xiaojing, had even secured her the lead role in the S-level project "Blue Sky Galaxy." However, Miss Cheng's offer proved more enticing, and Han Hui chose to pursue her career in Hollywood. The person explained that perhaps Miss Cheng was testing Han Hui, or simply removing a potential daughter-in-law she disliked.
In Ye Feimo's home, Han Hui tearfully confronted him, lamenting that Miss Cheng disliked her and had tricked her into going to America, expressing her despair upon discovering the deception. She continued to try and justify her past choices, claiming she had "no choice" because he had hidden his true identity, and she was suddenly presented with such a grand opportunity. She challenged him, asking what he would have done in her place. Ye Feimo remained silent and unresponsive.
He retrieved the "Rose Tears" necklace and gazed at old photos, then retreated into his room, locking the door. A painful memory flashed through his mind: a younger Han Hui walking away despite his desperate pleas for her to stay. Han Hui stood outside his locked door, calling his name, but he did not open it. She eventually left, and Ye Feimo watched her departure from his window, still holding the "Rose Tears" necklace.
