Realizing her error, Kong Hou felt wronged, believing Zhong Xi had deliberately played a trick on her as a punishment for leaving in a hurry the previous day. She confronted him, but Zhong Xi, while not revealing Lin Hu's prank, assured her he truly wished to see her.
Observing their interaction, Lin Hu warned Zhong Xi that Kong Hou likely harbored ulterior motives, echoing previous warnings from her master. Kong Hou, in turn, tried to cheer Zhong Xi up. Kong Hou then discussed continuing her energy regulation with Zhong Xi, but he hesitated. Lin Hu again interjected, suggesting Kong Hou's true aim was his energy.

In a desperate move, Zhong Xi immediately performed mouth-to-mouth suction to extract the poison, apologizing for the unconventional method. He then warned her about the cunning nature of dark cultivators and urged her to be more vigilant.
