Jiu Su, filled with malevolence, declared his intention to drag everyone down with him, including the righteous sects. Amidst the chaos, Kong Hou's body began to gradually turn to ashes. Sensing her dire peril, Master Zhong Xi rushed to her aid, pulling her from the brink of death. He then engaged Jiu Su in a fierce battle.

Jiu Su cruelly taunted Zhong Xi, expressing his desire for him to witness Kong Hou's complete disintegration before sending them both to oblivion, along with every mortal cultivator. Displaying formidable will and power, Master Zhong Xi eventually defeated Jiu Su, casting him into a black hole, and retrieved the now deeply unconscious Kong Hou. The others quickly gathered, their faces etched with worry. They discovered that Kong Hou's spiritual essence and energy had vanished.

It was explained that she had used her Phoenix Essence to revive Master Zhong Xi and then completely depleted her spiritual energy battling Jiu Su, leaving her with little time left. Initially believing Kong Hou was beyond saving, Master Zhong Xi learned from his master, Jin Yue, that there was still one way to save her. Meanwhile, Hong Yan, the leader of the Yuexing Sect, was filled with bitter disappointment and anger towards Kong Hou.

She had intended to use Jiu Su's Ascension Array to resurrect her own husband, Master Zi Chen, who had perished over a thousand years ago in a battle against demon cultivators. Now, to save Kong Hou, the only solution was to use the Yuexing Sect's Yuexing Formation. Master Zhong Xi sought out Hong Yan, who informed him that the Yuexing Formation could only be activated once with the current power of the sect.

Hong Yan was reluctant to use this sole opportunity to save Kong Hou, preferring to facilitate Master Zhong Xi's ascension to bring heavenly dew to the Lingyou Realm and clear its current decline. However, Master Zhong Xi was resolute, even kneeling to implore Hong Yan.

Moved by his profound devotion, Hong Yan revealed that the Yuexing Formation could save Kong Hou, but it would require Master Zhong Xi to sacrifice his own spiritual core, leading to his demise once Kong Hou was revived. Master Zhong Xi accepted this fate without hesitation. To spare everyone, especially Kong Hou, the grief of his impending death, Master Zhong Xi chose to conceal the full truth.

He informed his peers that the Yuexing Formation would aid his ascension, and the heavenly dew it brought forth would be capable of saving Kong Hou. Soon after, Kong Hou awoke, astonished to find herself alive. Upon learning of Master Zhong Xi's imminent ascension and their unavoidable separation, she expressed no sorrow, choosing instead to spend their remaining time together joyfully, revisiting places they cherished. They left the others, seeking a period of sweet, private solitude.

During this time, Lin Hu took Fairy Ling Bo to a bustling market to find a token of their affection, eventually selecting a pair of Hetian jade rings. While they admired their new rings, Master Zhong Xi sent Lin Hu a message, announcing his and Kong Hou's wedding the following day. When the day arrived, Master Zhong Xi and Kong Hou were preparing for their ceremony, only to be surprised by all their friends arriving to celebrate with them.

That evening, their wedding formally took place, blessed by their loved ones. Filled with joy, yet also a subtle sadness at the thought of their upcoming separation, Kong Hou drank heavily and eventually fell asleep on Master Zhong Xi's shoulder. Internally, Master Zhong Xi made a painful decision: to cast the Memory-Severing Technique on Kong Hou after his "ascension," ensuring she would forget him and live freely, unburdened by his sacrifice.

The bond between Lin Hu and Fairy Ling Bo also deepened. Lin Hu, hoping to delight Ling Bo, presented her with wildflowers. Though secretly pleased, Ling Bo playfully chided him for picking them carelessly. Lin Hu, undeterred, promised to plant a garden full of flowers in their courtyard once they were married, though Ling Bo continued to feign reluctance.

Just then, Master Zhong Xi and Kong Hou appeared, offering them an ancient spiritual tool, the Shuicang Jade, as a wedding gift. Hearing Ling Bo's mock refusal, Master Zhong Xi playfully teased the couple. Ling Bo finally relented, instructing Lin Hu to accept the gift, signifying her acceptance of their union. The day of the ritual arrived, and everyone gathered. Master Zhong Xi and Kong Hou entered the Yuexing Formation. Inside, Kong Hou felt an unsettling strangeness.

At a crucial moment, she noticed a distinctive pendant on Hong Yan. A flash of memory struck her: the pendant was identical to an item left behind by the mysterious figure she had encountered. Kong Hou realized with dread that Hong Yan was the enigmatic stranger. She urgently informed Master Zhong Xi, but it was too late. Both were ensnared by Hong Yan's control.

Hong Yan then revealed that this was not the Yuexing Formation at all, but rather a Rebirth Formation, designed to bring people back to life. She confessed that she needed Master Zhong Xi's spiritual core to complete the formation and resurrect Master Zi Chen, her late husband. She angrily declared that Master Zhong Xi and Kong Hou had ruined her original plans involving Jiu Su and would now pay the price.

Master Zhong Xi realized she was attempting to strip him of his spiritual core. Kong Hou desperately urged him to break the malevolent array, but Hong Yan threatened to kill Kong Hou if he resisted.
