One evening, Kun Lan brought an abundance of late-night snacks for Shuangshuang and her colleagues. Shuangshuang was touched by his thoughtfulness, feeling a bit guilty for their last interaction, but Kun Lan assured her he was happy as long as she was. As everyone enjoyed the food, they worried about their boss, Qi Xun, discovering them. Indeed, Qi Xun soon walked by jealously and went into his office.
Shuangshuang hesitantly invited him to join, but he curtly refused, stating he was too busy. Meanwhile, Qi Tian, Qi Xun's sister, happily joined the gathering. She was pleasantly surprised not just by the hotpot, but by Kun Lan, a man who had appeared in her dreams multiple times and looked familiar to her. The following day, everyone worked diligently, and Kun Lan continued to provide them with delicious food.
After several days of intense effort, their project finally received approval from Director Du. Shuangshuang returned home happily with Kun Lan, playfully bickering along the way. She was looking forward to a relaxing weekend, but then Qi Xun informed her that she needed to go sketching on-site, demanding results by Monday. Waking early the next morning, Shuangshuang found Kun Lan already gone.
She saw a note he left, which playfully referenced their bet by calling her "Noble among dogs" for waking up later, prompting her to declare that she was not a pig and neither was he. Shuangshuang then left, ready for her sketching trip. Back at Kun's Research Institute, Kun Lan encountered Shi Lang. Kun Lan's grandfather appeared, revealing that after thirteen years, the threat from He Taichang had resurfaced.
He recounted how Feng Yun had asked him years ago to protect Xun Xue from He Taichang. He admitted his mistake in underestimating He Taichang, a normal human without ESP powers, believing Feng Yun was paranoid. He emphasized that the human heart was far more dangerous than any power. He explained that He Taichang, having learned that Xun Xue was a healer, had desperately begged her to cure him and his brother.
A flashback showed He Taichang pleading with Doctor Xun Xue, who was then pregnant. When his initial plea failed, He Taichang devised another scheme. Kun Lan's grandfather implored him to protect Shuangshuang, not wanting history to repeat itself. Kun Lan promised that he had already sent Zha Zha to investigate and there would be no mistakes this time. Shuangshuang, following a map, noticed someone tailing her. Fortunately, a kind woman, Miss Wang, offered to guide her to her destination.
As they walked, Shuangshuang learned that Miss Wang was a doctor who now volunteered at the nursing home, where her late mother once resided. Miss Wang also had a distinctive red mole on the back of her neck. They parted ways at the site. Much later, after Shuangshuang finished her inspection, she tried to find Miss Wang to leave together but was told Miss Wang had already departed. Walking alone in the evening, Shuangshuang heard desperate cries for help.
Cautiously, she approached a small grove where the sounds originated, only to be abruptly pulled into the darkness by unseen hands. Meanwhile, Qi Xun and Shi Lang were discussing new leads concerning Xun Xue. Shi Lang mentioned a crucial detail about Xun Xue: she had a prominent red mole on the back of her neck.
Elsewhere, Kun Lan received an urgent call from Zha Zha, informing him that He Zhengchang was in a small grove near the nursing home and had kidnapped Shuangshuang. Realizing Shuangshuang was in danger, Kun Lan and Zha Zha immediately set off. At the same time, Qi Tian had a premonition of Shuangshuang being in peril in a forest near the nursing home and quickly alerted her brother.
Despite her warning that he too would be in danger, Qi Xun used his teleportation ability to rush to the grove, driven by concern for Shuangshuang. In the grove, Kun Lan's entrance caused a commotion. He Zhengchang, realizing that Miss Wang, whom he had kidnapped, was not Xun Xue, immediately released her. He then turned his attention to Shuangshuang, mistakenly believing she was Xun Xue, and attempted to kidnap her, demanding to know why she had harmed his brother.
Shuangshuang was confused, denying any knowledge and pleading to be released. He Zhengchang vowed to expose "healers" like her. Upon seeing the absence of the red mole on Shuangshuang's neck, he realized she wasn't Xun Xue. Just as Shuangshuang struggled against He Zhengchang, Qi Xun arrived, having endured his own discomfort to get there. He drove He Zhengchang away but was injured in the process. Shuangshuang, relieved but worried, insisted on taking him to the hospital.
Later, He Zhengchang was seen at his brother's grave, revealing he was He Taichang's brother and was seeking revenge for him (He Taichang). He confessed that his girlfriend, Jian Bai, had left him because of his overwhelming hatred, but he felt she couldn't understand the depth of his bond with his brother or how Xun Xue had shattered their hopes. He reaffirmed his resolve to find Xun Xue and demand why she had refused to help his brother.
Back at Qi Xun's home, Qi Tian was awake, waiting for her brother and Shuangshuang. She immediately noticed Qi Xun's injury and, despite his attempts to hide it (seemingly forgetting his sister's ability to foresee the future), she told Shuangshuang to take care of him. Shuangshuang asked Qi Xun how Qi Tian knew he was hurt, to which he replied he didn't know.
Shuangshuang also questioned why Qi Xun had come to rescue her, but he simply stated he was there for a project inspection and offered no further explanation for his presence. As Shuangshuang tended to Qi Xun's wound, perhaps due to her being a healer, he fell into a peaceful sleep. Shuangshuang sketched his sleeping face. Meanwhile, Kun Lan, still deeply worried, walked alone, trying to reach Shuangshuang. Kun Lan called Shuangshuang's phone, but Qi Tian answered.
She recognized Kun Lan from the hotpot delivery at MIST and greeted him warmly. However, Kun Lan, focused solely on Shuangshuang, didn't recall meeting Qi Tian, asking if she was Shuangshuang's colleague. When Qi Tian offered to call Shuangshuang, Kun Lan declined, politely ending the call. Disappointed, Qi Tian sat, pondering her future with Kun Lan. Despite her brother's strict warning never to actively predict the future, she couldn't resist. She used her ESP ability to glimpse Kun Lan's image, but the effort was too much, and she fainted from exhaustion.
