Kun Lan informed her that he had inquired with the doctor and learned that Qin Ran needed to be transferred soon and prepared for a heart transplant, although a matching heart hadn't been found yet. Kun Lan assured Shen Tong he would handle the arrangements.
He then revealed that he had been observing Shen Tong for some time and accidentally discovered she was a healer, whose abilities seemed even stronger than Shuangshuang's. He explained that his family were guardians for the healers, a duty they had to uphold, making him her guardian. Shen Tong found the concept of a "guardian" novel but stated she didn't believe she needed his protection. She wondered if Kun Lan liked Shuangshuang, suggesting they team up.
Kun Lan clarified he was serious, explaining the extreme lengths Espers would go to use healers to alleviate the pain that haunts them everyday. He feared Shen Tong might face a similar threat and felt it was his duty to protect her, recounting how his grandfather's past failure led to a healer's death in a fire, a tragedy they hoped to prevent from happening again.
Shen Tong challenged his ability to guarantee safety, asking if he was a master marksman who could always appear when needed. Kun Lan pledged to try, but Shen Tong argued that everyone has their own destiny, and no one can truly protect another. She urged him to seek his own life's purpose rather than fulfilling a so-called mission. Shortly after, Shen Tong felt unwell, prompting them to end their conversation. Meanwhile, Qi Tian and Shi Lang were attempting to knit.
Shi Lang noted Qi Tian's newfound interest in knitting and suggested Qi Xun would be delighted, as her brother had been very worried about her condition. Qi Tian affirmed her love for her brother but clarified the scarf wasn't for him; it was for Kun Lan. Shi Lang expressed surprise, mentioning Kun Lan often refused her.
Qi Tian confessed she didn't know precisely what she liked about Kun Lan, but seeing him made her heart joyful and filled her with hope for the future. She no longer feared what lay ahead, wishing to live longer just to see him more often. Shi Lang gently admonished her not to dwell on such thoughts, assuring her that he and Qi Xun were actively working on solutions for her health.
Shi Lang then playfully described his ideal woman as someone with a good figure and a gorgeous face, explicitly stating, "not someone like you." Qi Tian suggested Director Du, but Shi Lang quickly rejected the idea, calling Director Du a "strong woman" he wasn't interested in. Qi Tian continued to lament that manuals don't cover important things like how to make a crush like you back. Later, Qi Tian went to Kun Lan's residence.
Kun Lan, trying to send her home to avoid Qi Xun's concern, found her insistent. Qi Tian expressed a new wish: for Kun Lan to ride a bicycle with her, a simple pleasure her brother deemed too dangerous. Kun Lan reminded her that he had already granted a wish and he wouldn't allow her to be demanding. Disappointed, Qi Tian reflected on her many unrealized wishes.
She then shared the story of Damocles, highlighting how acquiring power comes with a hidden threat, drawing a parallel to her own life where a constant danger loomed over her. Kun Lan, moved by her words, admitted he didn't know how to ride a bicycle, implying he couldn't fulfill her wish. Qi Tian, however, optimistically stated that he was smart and could learn quickly, declaring it a deal. True to his word, Kun Lan began learning to ride a bicycle.
His assistant, Zha Zha, watched him fall repeatedly and questioned if Kun Lan had moved on to someone else and now liked Qi Tian. Kun Lan denied it, affirming his feelings for Shuangshuang. He explained that he felt he and Qi Tian were similar, both experiencing love they couldn't fully have. He believed that if he was kinder to Qi Tian and she was well, Qi Xun would, in turn, be kinder to Shuangshuang, ultimately leading to their happiness.
Zha Zha, touched by Kun Lan's reasoning, volunteered to teach him personally. Once Kun Lan learned, he took Qi Tian for a bicycle ride as promised. Qi Tian was overjoyed, feeling her dreams were coming true. During the ride, Qi Tian suddenly clutched her chest, complaining of pain, which alarmed Kun Lan, who immediately offered to take her to the hospital.
Qi Tian laughed, revealing it was a joke, saying the pain was because Kun Lan was "stuck inside her heart." Kun Lan realized her prank, calling her silly. Separately, Shuangshuang and Qi Xun enjoyed a romance movie together. Later, while stargazing, Qi Xun proposed a gift for Shuangshuang: a star named after her. Shuangshuang laughed, recognizing it as a common online scam where people are duped into buying fake star-naming certificates that hold no scientific validity.
Her detailed explanation of the fraudulent nature of such services caused Qi Xun to discreetly pull back his hand, which had been reaching for a certificate he had bought. Shuangshuang, noticing his gesture, playfully snatched the certificate, finding his gullibility endearing.
She then expressed how meeting him transformed her life, making every day feel radiant and shining, and declared that from then on, a star named "Glee" would exist for her, acknowledged by her heart alone, regardless of its official status. Qi Xun, relieved by her acceptance, watched as Shuangshuang vowed to shine like a star, always guarding him, rain or shine.
In the hospital, Qin Ran's father went to the office to inquire about Qin Ran's condition but was incapacitated by He Zhengchang. Shuangshuang and Shen Tong were helping Qin Ran prepare for his transfer, which he was reluctant about, wanting to stay with his friends. Shen Tong reassured him that the transfer was for his recovery and promised to take him to an amusement park afterward. When Feng father didn't return, Shuangshuang went to look for him.
She learned from a doctor that he had been there but left without collecting the reports. The doctor also mentioned Qin Ran's condition was not optimistic and required urgent surgery. Shuangshuang couldn't reach Feng father on his phone. Meanwhile, Qi Xun, Shi Lang, and Qi Tian were preparing to visit Qin Ran. Qi Tian showed off a hand-made scarf she knitted for Kun Lan and another store-bought scarf for Qin Ran.
Suddenly, Qi Xun received a call from Shuangshuang, who frantically informed him that her father was missing and she couldn't find him anywhere. The call abruptly cut off, and Shuangshuang was subsequently abducted by He Zhengchang.
