Qu Zheng revealed his past to Jin Muqiu and Su Zhuozhuo, admitting he was once a secret killer for Nonuple Palace, kept and deceived by Jing Yuan into committing terrible acts against innocent people and eliminating his rivals. He explained that he knew Jing Yuan was behind everything. Jin Muqiu and Su Zhuozhuo understood that Qu Zheng had hurt Jin Baiwan as part of a plan to clear her name and protect her from suspicion.
Qu Zheng confirmed everything he did was for her. Song Jianshan went to deliver medicine to Qu Zheng but found his room empty. Song Jianshan recalled Qu Zheng previously saying that Jing Yuan would no longer have a chance to harm Jin Baiwan, and he realized something was seriously wrong. Around the same time, Jin Baiwan sensed someone near her door but saw no one when she looked.
A servant then brought her a pigeon transmission from Song Jianshan, stating that Qu Zheng was gone from Tingqin Garden and likely heading to Nonuple Palace to confront Jing Yuan. Zi Jing immediately helped him leave and ordered someone to find Doctor Demon without delay. Jin Baiwan seized an opportunity to break out of the dungeon. Her martial arts skills were fully restored, allowing her to easily bypass the guards.
Her escape was finally challenged by Zi Jing, and the two fought fiercely to a stalemate. In a critical moment, Qu Zheng arrived and saved Jin Baiwan, quickly taking her away before Qingyun or Zi Jing could stop them.
