Jin Muqiu woke up feeling the strong odor of alcohol on herself and immediately looked for Baiwan. Elsewhere, Linfeng was still lost in thought, recalling the words Jin Muqiu had spoken to him while drunk the night before. He was interrupted by a subordinate who informed him that the Valley Lord and Madam requested his presence.

The subordinate also reported that Jin Muqiu had woken up and immediately gone to find Lord Qu of Tingqin Garden, which the subordinate considered inappropriate. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Linfeng decided he needed to find her quickly. Baiwan woke up surprised to find herself in a room with Qu Zheng. He told her it was his bedroom and that she had slept in his bed, asking if she remembered anything from the previous night.

He teased her, claiming that in her drunken state she had loudly professed her love for him, expressed a desire to marry him soon, and wished to have nine children together. Baiwan, mortified, vehemently denied saying such things and called him a "cunning fox." He simply responded that he heard what he wanted to hear. Jin Muqiu then arrived loudly, accusing Qu Zheng of taking advantage of Baiwan while she was drunk. Baiwan quickly clarified that nothing inappropriate had happened.

Jin Muqiu, seemingly disappointed by his restraint, made a clumsy remark implying it might have been acceptable if he hadn't been so gentlemanly. Qu Zheng explained that he had brought Baiwan there because Mrs. Yu had become hysterical after the womenfolk gathering and threatened to harm herself, and he feared Lord Yu might blame Baiwan. Just then, Linfeng's subordinates arrived to escort Jin Muqiu to the main hall. Jin Muqiu reluctantly headed to the main hall, feeling panicked.

There, the Valley Lord and Madam were visibly angry, expressing shame at the disruption caused by the gathering. Jin Muqiu's father apologized for his daughter's lack of proper upbringing, but the Valley Lord insisted Jin Muqiu must be punished. Jin Muqiu stepped forward to accept responsibility. However, Linfeng intervened, claiming the fault was his for not being aware of Jin Muqiu's low alcohol tolerance and for not informing his parents sooner.

As her fiancé, he asserted that the responsibility fell on him and volunteered to copy the family rules as punishment. Jin Muqiu felt guilty and offered to copy them herself, but he insisted on taking the punishment he accepted. She asked if he was angry, and he simply told her to rest. Later, Jin Muqiu found him diligently copying the rules. She complained about the many rules in Taoyuan Valley, finding them suffocating and suggesting they should be abolished.

Linfeng became serious, asking if she knew how Taoyuan Valley's century-old foundation was built – through generations of hard work and strict adherence to ancestral rules. He emphasized the principle "no rules, no order," making it clear her remarks were out of line with their traditions. Jin Muqiu apologized for her words and left. Outside, Baiwan worried about Jin Muqiu's situation. Su Zhuozhuo arrived, asking specifically for Qu Zheng.

Baiwan watched them speak privately and misunderstood, thinking Qu Zheng was flirting with Su Zhuozhuo and was a "playboy." Qu Zheng spoke with Su Zhuozhuo about the womenfolk gathering, revealing he knew she was responsible for the strong liquor. Su Zhuozhuo admitted it, explaining it was meant for Baiwan, not Jin Muqiu, and offered to accept punishment. Qu Zheng declined, saying he was compensated by seeing Baiwan's charming drunken state, but warned her not to repeat it.

He added that Baiwan's identity didn't matter to him; he liked her simply because he liked her. Hearing this, Su Zhuozhuo frankly accepted that Qu Zheng liked Baiwan and declared she would find someone better. Later, Jin Muqiu found Baiwan distraught, convinced Linfeng hated her because he knew everything. She pleaded with Baiwan for help. Qu Zheng and Su Zhuozhuo joined them.

Qu Zheng remarked that Baiwan alone might not be sufficient to help Jin Muqiu, and Su Zhuozhuo eagerly offered her assistance. The three decided to stage a fake illness for Jin Muqiu using Su Zhuozhuo's medical knowledge. Baiwan and Qu Zheng began discussing Jin Muqiu's severe fabricated condition loudly enough for Linfeng to overhear. Su Zhuozhuo, disguised as a doctor, applied makeup to Jin Muqiu to make her appear deathly ill. Hearing of her condition, Linfeng rushed to her side.

Baiwan reported that Jin Muqiu had been ill since the gathering, self-isolating and copying rules without food or drink. Su Zhuozhuo, in her doctor persona, gave a dire prognosis. Jin Muqiu, feigning weakness, insisted on finishing the copied rules to avoid angering Linfeng further. Linfeng was deeply distressed by her apparent state and self-blame, calling her a "silly girl" and regretting his strictness. As they hugged, the makeup from Jin Muqiu's face transferred to Linfeng's clothing, revealing the ruse.

When questioned, Su Zhuozhuo explained that Jin Muqiu was genuinely exhausted, claiming the makeup was to cover her sick appearance, and presented the copious copied rules and "Women's Commandments" as evidence of her sincere effort to learn. Qu Zheng then stepped in, dramatically declaring himself Jin Muqiu's "bosom friend," praising her efforts to learn for Linfeng and lamenting her engagement. Linfeng reacted with clear jealousy, asserting Jin Muqiu was his fiancée and telling Qu Zheng to respect their relationship.

Baiwan, anxious about the tension, expressed concern that Qu Zheng had gone too far. Qu Zheng retorted that Linfeng, not Jin Muqiu, should reflect on his behavior, and politely ushered Linfeng away, stating that Jin Muqiu was exhausted and needed rest. Later, Qu Zheng spoke with Baiwan, challenging her perception of him and his character. Baiwan surprised him by calling him "Zheng."

Their conversation was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a person who called Baiwan "Qi" and seemed to recognize her from the past, asking why she didn't remember them. Baiwan was confused, stating the person had told her their name was Qi. Realizing Baiwan had no memory of them, the person attempted to take her away.

Baiwan resisted, believing the person was interested in her because she had helped them in the kitchen, and insisted that Qu Zheng was her husband and the Lord of Tingqin Garden. The person seemed surprised by this and by the revelation she was an escort. The person then left, telling Baiwan to take care of herself.

As the wedding day approached, Jin Muqiu tried on her wedding dress with Baiwan, expressing excitement and concerns about dieting according to Taoyuan Valley rules. She also shared her joy about writing a novel about a cook and a hero, despite Baiwan reminding her that Linfeng disliked novels, vowing to write secretly if needed.

Meanwhile, Qu Zheng spoke with Zi Jing, confirming that the approaching wedding meant the Taoyuan Valley warehouse would open that night, which was the planned time for their operation. He confided in Baiwan that he didn't want to spend his life with anyone but her. That night, the Taoyuan Valley warehouse was attacked. Linfeng rushed to defend it.

The attackers, under orders to steal only the Saussurea involucrata (snow lotus) and avoid killing Linfeng to prevent further complications, located the precious herb, confirmed it was the one Doctor Demon wanted, and made their escape, successfully stealing the Saussurea involucrata despite Linfeng's efforts.
