Zichuan Xiu launched a night raid on the North Clan's main camp, not only severely wounding Yun Qianxue but also indirectly causing Lei Hong to be questioned. It was widely spread that the raid was carried out by North Clan rebels. Ka Dun found Lei Hong and deliberately used this incident to pressure him. Lei Hong was very worried, fearing that the Divine Emperor would blame him for the matter, so he begged Ka Dun to speak up for him.

Ka Dun said that he had already vouched for him before the Divine Emperor but had also made a military pledge for him: capture Pa Yi and kill Si Te Lin within three days. Si Te Lin would lead a team out of the city to meet the enemy, creating escape opportunities for the prisoners. In desperation, he had no choice but to withdraw his troops. However, upon returning to the main camp, he was severely scolded by Ka Dun.

Yun Qianxue led his troops to surround Pa Yi, continuing to implement his strategy, which was to besiege without attacking. He planned to wait until the city ran out of food and fodder, and morale plummeted, at which point it would fall without an assault. Si Te Lin and Zichuan Xiu also saw through Yun Qianxue's strategy, but currently, they had no good countermeasures.

Other Zichuan armies were preoccupied and could not send reinforcements, so they could only temporarily hold out and look for another plan. After Di Lin learned about the situation in Pa Yi, he was very worried for his two brothers. He cursed them both as two idiots, doing the impossible when they knew it was impossible, yet he could not just watch them suffer in a predicament. So, he prepared to lead men to their rescue, sharing life and death.
