> Resúmenes de The Epoch of Miyu
Tan Jizhou met with Ji Feng to clear up the misunderstanding regarding the complaint against Xu Miyu. He explained that after he escorted the intoxicated Miyu to a room and settled her in, he spent the entire night in his father’s room and did not emerge until dawn. Despite this clarification, Ji Feng remained critical, arguing that Tan Jizhou should never have taken her out in the first place.
Tan Jizhou countered by noting that anyone would have stepped in seeing Miyu being harassed by her own family, adding that if Ji Feng truly valued a capable employee, he should show her more care and protection. To verify the story, Ji Feng reviewed the hotel’s surveillance footage, which confirmed that Tan Jizhou had indeed stayed out of Miyu's room all night.
Later, while walking through the executive floor with Xue Rui, Ji Feng overheard two staff members gossiping about Miyu. He immediately stepped in and sternly reprimanded them for their behavior. Xue Rui observed this and quietly cautioned Ji Feng against letting personal feelings influence his professional judgment. Meanwhile, Lu Xiaoyan was frustrated that Miyu had escaped punishment. She goaded Director Bai into filing another complaint with Ji Feng.
However, Ji Feng stood his ground, informing the director that no action would be taken against Miyu. He instead criticized Director Bai for failing to investigate the dispute properly or speak with the involved parties before escalating the matter. He warned that if Miyu decided to take action, the employees who signed the joint complaint could face charges of defamation. Realizing he was in the wrong, Director Bai quickly backed down and promised to manage the lobby staff more effectively.
Miyu later approached Lu Xiaoyan to demand the self-reflection letter she had previously assigned. When Lu Xiaoyan tried to ignore the request, Miyu docked points from her performance review on the spot. Having just been scolded by Ji Feng, Director Bai arrived and shifted her stance, criticizing Lu Xiaoyan for being disrespectful to her superior and ordering her to hand over the letter to Miyu immediately. The hotel’s Western restaurant was still struggling to finalize its dessert menu.
Ji Feng suggested incorporating traditional Chinese tea snacks. Li Qiaoqi recalled seeing Miyu make small, animal-shaped pastries and brought some for Ji Feng to sample. Ji Feng was immediately impressed by the quality. During her shift, Miyu received a call from her mother, who was once again asking for money to help Miyu’s sister pay for her child’s school tuition. Miyu refused, explaining that her own loan repayments left her with no extra funds.
Ji Feng and Xue Rui later visited the kitchen to watch Miyu prepare the snacks. When asked who taught her, Miyu explained that she learned from her mother, Jiao Xiumei, who was a master of Suzhou-style boat-shaped pastry. Interested in her skills, Ji Feng asked Miyu to arrange for her mother to come to Shanghai.
Although Li Qiaoqi worried that Xiumei might cause further trouble at the hotel, Miyu assured her that she had already set strict ground rules with her mother. Ji Feng also personally sought out Miyu to apologize for the recent incidents, though Miyu remained cool and did not immediately accept his apology. After work, Li Qiaoqi ran into Duan Aoxiang in the parking garage.
Duan Aoxiang mocked the Western restaurant’s choice of pastries, but Li Qiaoqi confidently told him that Ji Feng had a secret weapon and that within a month, their restaurant would surely surpass his hotel’s performance. Jiao Xiumei soon arrived in Shanghai and headed straight for the hotel buffet, helping herself to the free food. Tan Jizhou happened to be dining there and kindly helped her get a coffee.
When Miyu arrived at the restaurant later, Tan Jizhou greeted her, and she introduced him to her mother. Afterward, Xiumei repeatedly questioned Miyu about her relationship with Tan Jizhou, but Miyu insisted he was merely a guest and reminded her mother to be mindful of her behavior in the hotel. In the kitchen, Xiumei demonstrated the art of making Suzhou-style boat-shaped pastry. The Western restaurant chefs watched in awe as she crafted lifelike treats.
However, the labor triggered a flare-up of Xiumei's rheumatism. Ji Feng noticed her discomfort and quietly arranged for a room for her, leaving a package of medicated patches on the table for her use. Miyu realized that the thoughtful gesture had come from Ji Feng. Back in his office, Ji Feng pressured Xue Rui to finalize Xiumei’s labor contract. Xue Rui teased him, suggesting he was only doing this to win Miyu’s favor, a sentiment Ji Feng did not deny.
Around the same time, Lu Xiaoyan finally submitted her apology letter to Miyu. Miyu accepted it and warned her not to let it happen again, even offering her a box of the new pastries as a gesture of goodwill, though Lu Xiaoyan dismissively gave them away to a colleague. The trial run of the new desserts proved to be a massive success, attracting a large number of guests to the restaurant.
When the formal contract was ready, Miyu presented it to her mother. Seeing the 20,000 RMB salary, Xiumei became convinced that Ji Feng was trying to win her over because he liked Miyu. Miyu quickly corrected her, explaining that the high salary was based on the hotel’s professional evaluation and that Ji Feng was simply her boss. She emphasized that both Ji Feng and Tan Jizhou belonged to a different social class and told her mother to stop speculating.
Elsewhere, Duan Aoxiang lost a bet with Li Qiaoqi regarding the success of the new dessert chef. As his penalty, he was sent to the kitchen to wash dishes. Infuriated by the humiliation, he intentionally smashed a stack of plates, arrogantly claiming he had no problem paying for the damages.
