Feeling unworthy to be Chen Mei Ru's prince and burdened by responsibility for her safety, Murong Jielun stood shirtless in the forest, attempting an act of self-sacrifice by offering his liver to ensure her well-being. His act was interrupted when Mei Ru's Second Uncle intervened, throwing a stone. Second Uncle humorously, yet pointedly, questioned the medical suitability of Murong's liver and suggested other organs, before sarcastically proposing he offer his brain, as it seemed "useless anyway."
He claimed his remarks were merely an "academic lecture" on Murong's flawed methods. Meanwhile, a frantic Chen Mei Ru sought out Jiang Hui Zhen, distressed that Murong Jielun had disappeared from the hospital. She recounted Murong's unsettling conversation with Ouyang Wen Shan and Ninth Heaven Dragon Lady the day before, and her inability to find him since waking up.
Jiang Hui Zhen, herself heartbroken and exasperated after an argument with Ouyang Wen Shan, revealed that he too was missing, and she had locked the diary away for safety. Despite their earlier desire to break free from the diary's influence, both women confessed their deep-seated emotional attachment to these characters, realizing they had become much more than just "set roles." Jiang Hui Zhen, noting Mei Ru's emotional distress, urged her to go home, rest, and await Murong's return.
Following their unusual encounter, Second Uncle escorted Murong Jielun to his home. Back home, Chen Mei Ru had a startling dream about a strange old man, but was woken up by a phone call from Second Aunt. Second Aunt informed her that Murong Jielun was at their house with Second Uncle, Hu Zhan Qi, and urged Mei Ru to come quickly as Hu Zhan Qi was "egging him on to die."
Upon their arrival, Second Aunt chastised her husband, Hu Zhan Qi, for his reckless talk of death and self-sacrifice, reminding him of her hard work and their niece's boyfriend's importance. Murong Jielun assured Second Aunt that his "academic discussion" with Second Uncle had enlightened him; he now understood that harming himself would also cause Mei Ru pain.
Observing the affectionate banter between Second Uncle and Second Aunt, Murong Jielun shared his profound love for Mei Ru, describing her delicate features and endearing habits in great detail. Second Uncle then told Murong Jielun that as an extraordinary individual, he and Mei Ru were "destined to face extraordinary challenges." Second Aunt invited Murong Jielun to a student's wedding feast, promising food if he helped with chores.
With his heart now full of concern for Mei Ru, Murong Jielun gave his sword to Second Uncle for safekeeping and left with Second Aunt for the wedding. Elsewhere, Duan Shuiliu and Ninth Heaven Dragon Lady had returned to their previous routine. Dragon Lady, equipped with binoculars, meticulously observed the city streets. Having recently learned about her origins, she perceived the world through a new lens, identifying "brands of the poor" and "slave carriages."
She misunderstood a kind act as theft and a kissing couple as violently "biting each other." Upon seeing a group of elderly people engaged in square dancing, she mistakenly believed they were under a "curse" from Chen Mei Ru's diary, bound by a "setting" similar to her own. She passionately declared her intention to "awaken them" and liberate them from Chen Mei Ru's control.
Duan Shuiliu, wary of the trouble she might cause, tried to explain that square dancing was merely a cultural activity. Unable to dissuade her, he gently took the binoculars from her and suggested they go for supper instead. Before their supper, three influencers from Duan Shuiliu's company were approached by a rival named Wang Damei, who attempted to poach them. When the influencers refused, Wang Damei brought a group to threaten them.
Ninth Heaven Dragon Lady appeared, initially not recognizing the influencers. Duan Shuiliu quickly arrived to intervene. Dragon Lady, angered by Wang Damei's aggression, almost used her powers of wind and rain, but refrained, remembering they were "set" by Chen Mei Ru. Instead, she urged Duan Shuiliu to fight. Duan Shuiliu was initially overwhelmed by Wang Damei's thugs.
However, when Dragon Lady herself was threatened, Duan Shuiliu became enraged and single-handedly defeated all the attackers with a fluid display of martial arts. Dragon Lady expressed great pride in his heroism. As Wang Damei threatened to call the police, Duan Shuiliu and Dragon Lady quickly fled the scene together. Later, Duan Shuiliu was startled awake by Ninth Heaven Dragon Lady's intense gaze.
The doorbell then rang, revealing his three former influencers, who had come to apologize and pledge their renewed loyalty to him after his heroic rescue. Recognizing Dragon Lady's importance to Duan Shuiliu, they showered her with compliments and snacks, calling her "Duan Shuiliu's lady," a title she did not refute. They playfully teased her about her deep affection for Duan Shuiliu, suggesting her eyes were "full of him" and that she shouldn't let him out of her sight.
They even advised her to perform an "eye-staring test" to confirm their bond. Ninth Heaven Dragon Lady agreed to their suggestions, even preventing Duan Shuiliu from leaving to buy breakfast. During the eye-staring test, Duan Shuiliu’s attention was drawn to a peculiar old man, a foreigner, entering Chen Mei Ru's apartment building across the street. Feeling a sense of unease, he hurried over to investigate.
Inside Mei Ru's apartment, he encountered the old man, who appeared to be searching for something. Pretending to be a neighbor in need of a lighter, Duan Shuiliu introduced himself. The old man responded, "Sin."
