After the dance, Jiang Bohan was about to confess his feelings while taking Yu Mingxi home, but he was interrupted by You Jingchu's return. You Jingchu denied buying the dance shoes, letting Jiang Bohan claim them instead. Thugs came to collect a debt and took the dance shoes. You Jingchu comforted Yu Mingxi and continued to work as a boxing sparring partner to earn money.
Jiang Bohan followed him to the boxing gym and, after witnessing You Jingchu being beaten, stepped in to help. You Jingchu confessed that his father's investment was a scam, which left Yu's family in debt, and he asked Jiang to keep his sparring a secret. When the two returned wounded, Yu Mingxi saw them and mistakenly thought they had been fighting. Yu Mingxi meticulously cared for You Jingchu. Jiang Bohan saw them sharing daily necessities, remembered You saying he and Yu were not alike, and left in silence.
