Dr. Xun was reprimanded by Ling Changjin for Bao Zhu's weak condition, which caused her to faint easily at the sight of blood. Ling Changjin declared that from that day forward, he would personally take charge of Bao Zhu's health. He Xi, unaware that Ling Changjin might have harmed Bao Zhu to take her blood, reassured Bao Zhu that the bleeding she experienced was a normal part of married life.

Bao Zhu was relieved and pleased that Ling Changjin was taking such an interest in her well-being. To encourage Bao Zhu to produce more Kirin blood, Ling Changjin diligently made her drink various bitter tonics. Bao Zhu, however, found the medicines unpalatable and complained, recalling how her father had made her consume similar concoctions since childhood until she was fed up. She suggested physical training instead, believing it would be more beneficial than medicine.

Ling Changjin, showing no mercy, immediately had Bao Zhu carry water and run laps, with supervisors ensuring she kept going. Bao Zhu became so exhausted she could barely hold a cup of water, lamenting that she had never been so tired in her life and yearning for her days in the palace.

Her distress only grew when He Xi informed her of Ling Changjin's rigorous plans for the next day: morning exercises before dawn, an afternoon at the drill ground, and even more training in the evening. Overwhelmed, Bao Zhu cried out and collapsed.

Unable to endure her demanding new life, Bao Zhu wrote a letter to Tang Qianyue, humorously complaining that her husband was "too strong and energetic to handle," and requested to stay at Ling Changfeng's residence starting the next morning. Ling Changfeng and Tang Qianyue read the letter, with Tang Qianyue agreeing to shelter Bao Zhu while reminding Ling Changfeng to ensure Bao Zhu's safety and prevent any bleeding.

The following day, Bao Zhu walked alone through a foggy, unsettling street, feeling increasingly scared. Suddenly, someone bumped into her, causing the bandage on her hand to loosen and Kirin blood to spill. Tang Qianyue, sensing the Kirin blood from across the street, experienced a resurgence of her butterfly poison and transformed. Attracted not only by Tang Qianyue, other entities also converged, but Tang Qianyue, retaining a shred of lucidity, fought them off to protect Bao Zhu.

Ling Changfeng arrived just in time, instructing Bao Zhu to wrap her wound tightly, and used essential oil made from ink mallow flowers, known from the "Poisons Collection" to suppress butterfly poison, to help Tang Qianyue recover. Bao Zhu was initially frightened by Tang Qianyue's transformed state and shocked to learn that Tang Qianyue was an YLBL member, just like the creatures she had seen on New Year's Eve.

Tang Qianyue explained that she was revealing her identity because Bao Zhu was one of the kindest people she knew, besides Ling Changfeng. Bao Zhu promised to keep Tang Qianyue's secret and protect her, to which Tang Qianyue advised her to protect herself first, as her Kirin blood naturally attracted YLBL members. Just then, Ling Changjin arrived, having heard about YLBL members appearing on the street and learning Bao Zhu had come to Ling Changfeng's house.

He inquired about the wound on Bao Zhu's hand. Bao Zhu quickly fabricated a story, claiming it was an old injury that had re-opened after she fell. She then eagerly asked Ling Changjin to take her home, expressing her hunger, and they promptly departed. Tang Qianyue, disturbed by her recent heightened sensitivity to Kirin blood, even from a distance, sought out Ms. Yuan for answers.

Ms. Yuan revealed that Tang Qianyue was pregnant, a surprising development given she hadn't conceived in three years of marriage with Ling Changfeng, and was the first YLBL member known to be pregnant. Ms. Yuan explained that Tang Qianyue's body now had to sustain both the reviving butterfly poison and the growing fetus, with both competing for her blood and energy, which would compel her to hunt. This revelation clarified Tang Qianyue's recent unusual behavior.

Ms. Yuan somberly warned that Tang Qianyue might not survive the pregnancy, and even if she did, giving birth would lead to her own demise, her life exchanged for the child's. Despite this dire prognosis, Tang Qianyue declared her unwavering desire to keep the baby. Recognizing her resolve, Ms. Yuan advised her to bring Ling Changfeng along for their next visit, as the child's father had a right to be informed of the situation.

Back at the Marquis's residence, Bao Zhu remarked on the Yilan Clan's creation of the YLBL members and their evil intent, while also expressing pity for the members. Ling Changjin chastised her for leaving the house without bodyguards, emphasizing the preciousness of her life. Bao Zhu, frustrated by his "torment," admitted she was trying to escape to Ling Changfeng's house.

Ling Changjin then declared that from that day forward, Bao Zhu would not be allowed to leave the residence without his permission, and he would eat, sleep, and live with her. Bao Zhu was taken aback by the prospect of sleeping together.

Outside their room, He Xi and Mr. Kun eavesdropped, with He Xi questioning why Ling Changjin, who had previously cited Bao Zhu's poor health as a reason for separate sleeping arrangements, was now allowing them to share a room. Mr. Kun dismissed his curiosity. Inside, Bao Zhu asked Ling Changjin why they weren't sleeping on the same bed, as Tang Qianyue had said couples should. Ling Changjin had arranged a hard daybed for her.

Bao Zhu complained that the daybed was incredibly uncomfortable, hurting her all over, and that even the pillow, backrest, and quilt were hard. She then admitted her fear of the dark and asked him to light a lamp, which he did. Despite the light, she continued to complain about the creaky, hard daybed, fearing it would collapse.

Meanwhile, Tang Qianyue discussed with Ling Changfeng how ink mallow flower powder, which used to suppress her butterfly poison, now seemed to affect her negatively since New Year's Eve. Ling Changfeng explained that while small amounts of ink mallow flower could suppress the poison, larger quantities could have severe consequences. Tang Qianyue suggested she should avoid ink mallow flowers in the future.

Ling Changfeng disagreed, reminding her that years ago, the Marshal had planted countless ink mallow flower trees on the city's outskirts to defend against YLBL members, and every March, when they bloomed, their fragrance and petals permeated the entire city.
