After the three finished playing on New Year's Eve, Ling Dong took Lan Jinghui back to his home. Ling Dong's mom was very welcoming of Lan Jinghui. As soon as the two entered the door, Ling Dong's mom was busy preparing to make dumplings for them to eat. Lan Jinghui didn't want to bother her, and just wanted to refuse, but Ling Dong said he still wanted to eat a little.
So two plates of steaming dumplings were brought to the table. The two teenagers buried their heads and ate. Ling Dong's mom was making up the sofa bed. Ling Dong thought he would make it up himself in a bit. Lan Jinghui suddenly felt very embarrassed and said it would be fine for him to sleep on the sofa at night.
Ling Dong's mom suddenly had an idea and said it would be fine for the two of them to squeeze together tonight, as the bed was originally very big. So that night, Lan Jinghui and Ling Dong lay on the same bed. But Lan Jinghui didn't act as he had promised Ling Dong before. Instead, he snored and pushed him.
In the end, there was nothing Ling Dong could do; moving to the other end to sleep didn't work either, so he simply made a bed on the floor. The next day, Ling Dong and Ling Dong's mom made a table full of dishes. Lan Jinghui thought it was delicious and took the initiative to do the dishes. Watching the interaction between Ling Dong and Ling Dong's mom, Lan Jinghui felt love, and it made him feel very uncomfortable inside.
That night, lying in bed, Lan Jinghui couldn't fall asleep no matter what. It turned out it was because his grandma was coming back the next day. Ling Dong, however, was very happy, after all, he could finally get a good night's sleep. Besides, Lan Jinghui complained that the hot water at Ling Dong's house wasn't hot and the bed board was hard.
But Lan Jinghui said he was still willing to stay at Ling Dong's house, because it felt more like a home here. Ling Dong didn't say much more when he heard this. Instead, he helped cover Lan Jinghui's feet with the blanket. Lan Jinghui also did the same thing. The next day, Lan Jinghui returned to his own home. But only his grandma came back. His dad had gone on another business trip.
After a brief moment of disappointment, Lan Jinghui immediately put on a smiling face, just wanting to not make his grandma worry. Lan Jinghui also told his grandma that Ling Dong's cooking was delicious and that he was doing very well! The winter holiday quickly ended, and in the new semester, Lan Jinghui saw Ma Yiming after a long time. The two of them went back to the classroom messing around.
Lan Jinghui immediately noticed that Xiao Xiaohua had brought breakfast for Ling Dong. Thinking to himself that making things happen (for them) was also a virtue, he changed Ling Dong and Lan Jinghui on the duty roster to Ling Dong and Xiao Xiaohua! Ma Yiming exclaimed that it was too much. Lan Jinghui also heard that there was a new movie that was very suitable for couples to watch.
So he bought two adjacent movie tickets himself and gave them to Xiao Xiaohua and Ling Dong respectively, finding excuses. He himself hid in a corner and peeked. But even in his dreams, he saw scenes of the two of them condemning him. After returning, the two of them were indeed angry and didn't speak to Lan Jinghui at all.
Lan Jinghui returned home, and his grandma told him that his dad was back and told him to go up and call him down for dinner. Lan Jinghui accidentally overheard his dad instructing someone to transfer money to Ling Dong, and saying that Ling Dong was very dedicated to Lan Jinghui's studies and that the money must be transferred on time. Lan Jinghui didn't know what he was thinking about. The next day at school, he ignored Ling Dong.
Ling Dong tried to approach Lan Jinghui in his own way but was also kept at a distance by Lan Jinghui. Ling Dong was completely annoyed!
